I think one of the most heart-wrenching parts of the finale was the fact that bmo sang time adventure to jake to comfort him in their final moments. He didn't know that the music was going to save everyone. It was meant to comfort jake before they die.
This is why cartoon network is the best cartoon channel

To me, BMO forgetting Finn's name was the most heartbreaking thing in the entire show
To me, that felt like Finn forgetting all about his family in Puhoy.
Remember BMO in Ketchup? The fact that he remembers this story so well so long after the fact is beautiful considering his usual capacity for retelling memories
I honestly wanna believe it's just BMO toying around with pretending to have memory loss since that's what would happen to a "real boy/girl".
Sad thing is that anyone who lives for that long would probably forget alot of people's names.

For the song Time Adventure, it is an absolute MUST SEE to find the performance of Rebecca Sugar (who wrote the song) at the final Adventure Time panel with most of the crew there reacting to it as she was singing. Like seriously, if you haven't seen that yet, drop everything and watch it right *now.* Also, record yourself while doing so.

i thought the finale was perfect. i cried almost all the way through the second half. i can specifically remember BMO saying "that's the end of the story, but they continued to live their lives" like that hit me so hard. BMO's right. life goes on... whether we're there to see it or not. will happen, happening, happened.. to think that it was the creator's intent to help us make peace and say goodbye to such an amazing world... i didn't know that's what i wanted with the ending, but it exceeded all my expectations. i love it so so much. even several years later, i still tear up a bit thinking about this beautiful, deep show. im so happy you got to experience it, finally!

“Time Adventure” (the song) made me cry so hard when I watched the finale. It not only means so much in regards to the show, but it also speaks to a part of the human condition. Knowing that we will some day not be with the people we love can be so hard. This song acknowledges that while also reassuring the listener that, because time is an illusion, we will always be with the people we care about. That message means so much to me

I used to sing Come Along With Me when the show was still airing as a kid and it would get stuck in my head. When I head that during the finale, I . WAS . NOT . OKAYYYYY.
Remember the episode "The moe you know the moe you know" where moe's final wish was to have his mind blasted into space to live among the cosmos. BMO accomplished moe's dream in that montage.
I actually think this could be a really great opportunity, considering how much happens in the last few seasons of AT. Watching it a second time through actually I found (for me) was even more powerful, and also helped me see all that happened from a better perspective. I recommend you do the same, running on the chance you may feel the same! That's my two cents though, I'm gonna continue watching the whole video now
Second this. There's a lot to talk about for subsequent passes through those arcs, especially Stakes. Maven of the Eventide did a really great breakdown of how the tarot theme reflects itself in Marceline's growth throughout the arc, which is the story of why I'm following a vampire review channel despite not really being that into vampires.

If you want some recommendations for new things to watch, here's a few: OK K.O., basically Steven Universe's goofier sibling, made by the husband of Rebecca Sugar, Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart, a very cute show with solid continuity that generally acts as great comfort while still having the feels, Owl House, a very cool-looking show I have yet to watch, and Infinity Train, a show currently sitting at two seasons of 10 episodes each with a very fun premise.
Also, it won't work for a video, but I'd recommend reading the Adventure Time season 11 comics! While technically not canon, they do provide stuff one might be wanting after the finale.

Personally I think every miniseries is fantastic in its own right, Islands, despite being my favorite aesthetically, is the weakest because of the disconnect from the first to second half, stakes and elements are harder to distinguish, they’re both incredibly cohesive and powerful.
I think what they were saying with that last shot is that Shermy is Finn reincarnated again since the adventure never ends and that makes me real happy
You have to listen to “marceline” by willow (smith) she was a big fan of the show even voiced Beth in the finale. It’s a beautiful song.

Here's a couple animated shows I recommend:
Infinity Train - if you like surreal sci-fi
The owl house - if you like magic, witches, etc.
Infinity train has two seasons that are each complete ten episode stories, and the owl house is set to be a full series with one big story, (though it's only ten episodes in)

This finale was sooo awesome. That finale song was just, heart wrenching. I saw Rebecca Sugar present that song to the Adventure Time cast at their last Comic Con appearance (it’s online, that’s how I watched it) and the emotion on stage was palpable. Seeing John DiMaggio (voice of Jake) cry on stage just stole my heart.
I’m so glad to see you post this finale. I get your feelings on everything we love coming to an end. We just have to fill our hearts with something more.
I honestly like the complete randomness and mystery of the Outer characters of Adventure Time: Glob, Golb, Abe Lincoln, Cosmic Owl, etc. Those are entities that are far beyond rational thought and sometimes we have to grapple with the unknown. Like life there are unexplainable cosmic, serendipitous events that happen and we're left with complete and utter dumbfoundedness. We dig to find answers, and sometimes we do, but other times, we fade before the questions are answered. So in not giving a deep dive onto the other entities it gives me a since of completion, in knowing that there is an unknown.
Also a tad late, but it somewhat amazed me that technically, when BMO comforts Jake at the Treehouse, they didn't try to run at all and were quite possibly prepared for death.
The Island Song ruined me when I heard it end the finale. It’s such a perfect encapsulation of the show, and represents not just Finn’s adventure, but the adventure of anyone willing to take it.
I saw somone else recommend this so I'm going to reiterate, Bee and Puppycat is absolutely beatiful, lasts about an hour, and changed a lot of my views on life, I love it so freaking much and I guarentee you will too

Does anyone else remember that the Betty Reveal episode was a Christmas special?l They dug up Ice King's secret tapes to make fun of him only to find out that the reason he was obsessed with kidnapping princesses was that Simon called Betty his princess?
This is just reminding me that I need to rewatch Adventure Time again. That show was absolutely incredible
For me, the most powerful moment went by very fast. Finn's heart sinking as he realizes his death approaches, and how Simon is the one to comfort him in what they believe to be their last moments alive.

Would love to see your re-reaction to Stakes
All the answers that we didn't get didn't really bother me honestly, I think still having questions fits in with the finale and adventure time as a whole quite well. Because like, although it is the end of the show, the story isn't really over at all. As bmo said, they all kept living their lives, and as the finale showed, the world kept on going and changing and evolving even after all the characters we know and love died.
Even if your footage disappeared, I would still love to see a season 6-10 review!
I just watched you reaction to the songs and now I find this and I’m just amazed that their are still new people to the series. I’m still super sad the show is over, I think it might be my favorite cartoon. The thing about the show that I just love is that everyone’s stories are connected in this sort of web of adventures and it’s beautiful.😢😭
You don’t need to do watch them again, this was an experience and you don’t need to be frustrated, I’m just glad we all came along together on this journey of animation history whether we watched this late or when the first episode hit.

Hi! just wanted to say: I always saw Finn not getting a replacement arm his way of kind of...accepting what happened to him and how he is now? Like, finally accepting that he doesn't need some big magical extra thing to 'make up' for his disability, he's absolutely fine and capable the way he is!
I love the Adventure time finale so much because it feels so organic like BMO said they just continued living their lives. This is our last time following the AT world and Finn and Jake but the world continues living on without us and it feels all so real, after all the adventure never ends.

OK HEAR ME OUT: if you haven't yet, you NEED to get on Bojack Horseman. One of THE most HUMAN shows I've ever seen in my lifetime. (and tbh one of the BEST shows I've ever seen) And its main character is a HORSE. It can get very real and intense.. and boy does it often cut deep into your innermost thoughts and insecurities. Idk how else to sell this show, but it's effin brilliant and you (or anyone really) should definitely give it a shot (watch the entire season 1 to see if it's your cup of tea, don't stop at the first few episodes, which are apparently the weakest - but it only gets better each and every season)

During that finale when I heard the opening strum for Come Along with Me, my brain just went "God damnit, they're really gonna do that to me" cause it always gets me when the finale of a show ends on the end credits song.

I felt that the Orgalorg theme kinda was wrapped up, and cleverly too.
Betty wished for Simon staying safe no matter how it has to happen, so her wish removed every major threat to him, not just the currently most burning one. Because the Crown fused with the Orgalorg, Simon couldn't wear it anymore and therefore his sanity was guaranteed to stay. At the same time, the Crown neutralised Orgalorg who was a serious potential danger. Jake assumes becoming an Ice King and getting drums are Orgalorg's own wishes and that is a plausible explanation, I guess. But I think Betty guessed correctly that once out in the world the Crown returned to its previous state - "programmed" by the original wish made by the original Gunther. So Orgalorg wasn't making his own wish but his mind and will were overwritten just like Simon's. In Simon's case, it was a tragedy, but in case of a great cosmic villain, it was a much happier outcome than his remaining himself.
When sweet P turned all lich against king of oo and toronto, he mentioned before there was nothing, there were monsters. Orgalorg was one of those monsters and golb was the king among them all.

This show is so so important to me, it was with me my whole childhood and I’m glad I got to see you enjoy it!!!
I think a fun show to watch would be She-Ra and the Princesses of Power which is from dreamworks and is on Netflix. It’s 5th and final season are coming out this May, so right now may be the perfect time to watch it. One of the main characters is actually voiced by Stevonnie/AJ Michalka. There’s no singing in the show though. But the characters are SO loveable. It was my favorite new cartoon last year. It’s a fun sci fi/magical time.
So the guy who made AT, Pendleton Ward, and Duncan Trussell made a a show that Netflix just cranked out called The Midnight Gospel. It is weirder that AT by several orders of magnetude. And absolutely NOT for kids. It's like if they crossed Adventure Time with Richard Linklater's "Waking Life". It's only eight episodes, so you may try that one.
During this quarantine, I have rewatched Adventure Time and Steven Universe and god I cried almost every episode. Bill, do you need a hug, because I most certainly do.

I remember when I was having really bad days I would sit on the couch and switch on Adventure Time, and just lie on the couch smiling and laughing, and it would just make my day. I miss it so much, and seeing you react to it makes me happy :)

It's so weird, after seeing your video on trying to stan adventure time's music, I decided to thoroughly watch it (I had seen bits and pieces but never really got into it) and one day before you uploaded this, I finished the finale!
The ending is the epitome of 'everything changes but stays the same', and I love it so much.

You should try to stan Cosmo Sheldrake! Some songs I recommend are The Moss, Come Along, and Birthday Suit.
The voice of music hole is the lead singer of a band called LAKE. Adventure time has used 3 of their songs. "Christmas island" which is "Come along with me". "No wonder i" which was bmo's favorite song in "shh". And "why do i look up to you" which music hole sang in her debut episode.
Music hole also implies that bmo and ice kinf can hear her songs, which might be why bmo's favorite song is "no wonder i"
On the note of soul crushing good cartoons with great tunes, have you watched "Bojack Horseman" or "Tuca and Bertie." They're some of the adult cartoons that treat the medium with sobriety. They do have some very triggering concepts though with a lot about mental illness and Bojack Horseman spends a good bit of time around death.
I would highly recommend you try to stan She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (the netflix reboot ) judging by your feelings on adventure time and steven universe i think you would adore this show . It's silly and sweet but has the emotional depth and heartache and complexities of SU . Not to mention , it's the gayest show i have ever seen , the creator is a lesbian and has stated that the queerness of she-ra is so ingrained that it would be extremely hard to censor it or see things as just platonic between characters , which i really appreciate . Its a great show and i think you would love it !

this show just means so much to me. of course i love the story and the characters, that alone hurts like heck, but its also connected to a lot of my own stuff.... i used to watch the show with my parents and my best friends, but i dont see those friends anymore...... so like, the last episode, especially the song time adventure, it really meant a lot to me cause like, its about growing up and their fun, childish adventures ending and starting a new era but still having the memories, and i used to go on adventures with all my friends and i miss that. the lyrics "it seems unforgiving when a good thing ends, but you and i will always be back then" really hurts me, as well as "if there was some amazing force outside of time to take us back to where we were". also im a HUGE sucker for the whole everyone's there in the end, power of love and friendship thing (probably because i lack good human relationships). god i just ive been watching since i was an actual toddler and i just love it so much.
It'd be really awesome to hear your thoughts on Stakes, Elements and Islands, even if you don't have your first reactions it'd still be great to hear what you thought and hear your ideas about some of the meanings.
i like to imagine the finn sword shermy pulled out has the old finn inside still and they now have a finn that can give them advice and stuff
An absolutely beautiful show that's also worth watching is Avatar: the last airbender. i don't remember whether you ever mentioned you know that show, but if you don't, I highly recommend it. Beautiful story and character developments, good jokes and an amazing magic system

theres a really good show on netflix called "kipo and the age of wonderbeasts", the music SLAPS and really needs a season 2!
One of my absolute FAVORITE things about adventure time is that it takes the stereotype of like "a character with one love interest that is just destined to be, and they ALWAYS end up together no mater what" and just completely ignores it. Finn has multiple love interests, and he doesn't end up with any of them. It just feels so much more genuine.
This episode was sooo amazing.. but feeling all those crazy emotions again with you was absolutely priceless!!! TY

I think you might enjoy Regular Show? It’s a totally different realm with like. No fantasy elements but it has the huge amount of nostalgia specifically aimed towards peeps in their twenties to early thirties and I know certain episodes reeeeally felt relatable and everyone feels like a real person.
And like the last season goes off on its own thing and honestly I was super here for it.
The last Come Along With Me hits haarder when you have spent almost 10 years with the show when it was airing.
when I finished steven universe I desperately wanted to watch something to "fill the voiD" and Ive been meaning to watch it for a while (i had everything stays on my playlist before I even watched the first episode) so I watched adventure time over the span of 3 or 4 days and quite recently finished it it's so cool to see someone e go through it almost the exact same way I did

I think you would ADORE infinity train. Book 1 and 2 are amazing. Good music, lovable characters, some really... emotional moments, and it’s not super long.
Even just watching this and seeing just small clips from the show still made me cry goddamn it, this show really has its grips in me still, oof, feeling hella emotional again.One day I'll be able to rewatch this show without having an emotional breakdown five seconds in 😂 I'm so so glad you loved this show and thankyou for sharing your thoughts with us. Sweet Pig Trunks had been my favorite character in the show since his first episode and I was so happy with his character arc and seeing him become a Billy for Shermy's era.

I love this reaction video! I dont comment super often, but I do watch a lot of your videos and enjoy them (I'm trying to comment more in general)! Getting to see how you started from listening to a few songs to watching the finale was awesome! To see you make your connections and theories and reactions was great, I think it'd be cool to see your second reaction and analysis of stakes, elements,etc. and see how and if your thoughts are different from 1st to 2nd watches. I loved your reactions like the scream at the concussion kiss to your realizations to how different things connected! Now I wanna watch adventure time again!
Jake and Lady's descendants became the dominant life form in Ooo in the future. You can find some history and concept art from one of the artists/writers about the "Pup kingdom" where every pup is born with a power. Charlie's son Gibbon (who she saw in her future when she did a card reading) learned how to extinguish pup powers. You can see him in the intro to the finale shooting pink ice at the Ice Thing. Beth is the rightful princess of the Pup kingdom who escaped before her power was extinguished.

seeing this video in my notifications pushed me to finally watch the end of adventure time. I'd been putting it off ever since it aired, i guess because the finality of it wigged me out. but i wanted to see your reactions and thoughts more than i wanted to continue ignoring that one of the most ground-breaking cartoons of the decade was over. so i rewatched the entirety of the show in a week, and sobbed for like 20 minutes after the finale. now i get to watch your video! :3
