    She sings all over the place in a very controlled way. I love that you never know what to expect, it feels like the improvisational sound of good jazz.

    I love Willow's style. She's hit this place where she's not afraid to explore sounds, from very scary and weird and ugly sounds but also perfect and very beautiful at the same time! Her vocal performance speaks to the emotional quality of her lyrics in such a natural and free and expressive way.

When she was young and came out with Whip Your Hair everyone just thought she was going to be joking around with music as a child of celeb parents, but she has really showed everyone that this is her true passion and she enjoys experimenting with her vocal talents. Willow sounds very amateurish on these songs lately. Super pitchy, range all over the place, beneath the notes many times, off key, and then like idiots we’re all like she’s so cool and unique lmao. This sounds like a person auditioning but couldn’t find all the right notes. Many people do this naturally by accident. It sounds like she’s definitely doing it on purpose but it’s not a pleasant sound. This is an example of a person making music for themselves as an experiment. Not for others. No knock against it but if it’s not for us why are we here and why is she releasing it to us. It’s more like pandering more than anything.

    I've enjoyed seeing Willow grow as an artist and a person since "I whip my hair back and forth." I think your analogy of her yodeling is accurate. But it also at times seemed like she was chanting in a rhythmic way. It was like watching an artist paint with every color they decided to use. She is being vocally unique in a refreshing way. I don't know who came up with the Tiny Desk series. But it was ingenious of them.

    Her voice is so ancestral, I can hear both african and european hues in her voice, rich earthy elements, so jazzy but soulful at the same time, her music and her voice is an explosive cultural mix and you have to love and to some extent understand music in order to really appreciate it, ignorant and people with poor taste in music won't get it and i feel like this is why she's been so discriminated by her own community, she's more than your typical black pop singer, she creates her stuff she's in her own world so to speak. I hope she doesn't ever let ignorant people and the industry to stereotype her.

    Her soundcloud tracks went triple platinum in my house. I feel like her projects don't get enough attention and she should have more awards for the work she's put in as a child and now. Her work up until now should be brought up just as much, if not more than, Whip My Hair.

    Arcadian French on my fathers side Hispanic and Native American Cherokee Indian 3 totally different music cultures that just gave me and eclectic love for everything especially music made from the soul.
    She embodies what happens when a creative child is allowed to get in touch with their soul unfiltered flow is her mind.

      Those people are only complaining because they haven't had the same privilege. It's not her problem or fault who her parents are. In this case, she has actual talent. She's not stealing roles from more talented people. She's carving her own path. She's beautifully unique. I wish more people would explore everything their voice can do.

    Funny that no one said that they hear a middle-eastern, Arabic melodious try of approach to some of her scales and tonality. So wonderfully done. She's exceptional in her artistry. Excellent.And the musicians are incredible. I can't recall the lady on the bass's name but she's a monster bass player in her own right.

    • @Momjeansandshame
      @Momjeansandshame 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      I am kind of glad she isn’t in a way. Grammys and commercial success isn’t always kind to singers like Willow. She is genuine and hasn’t been beholden to change to suit execs and the machine. Despite her parent’s noise, she is doing her thing and is pure.

    • @sivadbeauty
      @sivadbeauty 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      People hate on her because she's Will Smith and Jada Pinkett daughter and I think because of that she intentionally doesn't use their influence and creates her own lane, she doesn't go that commercial route on purpose. But her fame is possibly what holds her back because society so judgemental. People are not listening to this exquisite talent before judging her. And they are missing out.
