I like a realistic player like Hugh. If someone plows me, I want revenge, I don't see an issue of going after them. Thats what happens when you make an enemy, and therefore when you make a move you need to consider the consequences.
Red here. I figured you had road locked from the get go with the coordinated 6s. And with 83 wood port you would’ve been in the best spot. I even offered a deal to not plow wood port but you said nothing. That being said I had a win next turn if you didn’t hit that last roll. Gg.
@ true. But if Hugh just took my offer he could’ve had the 83 wood port and avoided having to build roads all over the place. But with all the 6s it’s kinda moot
I actually didn't even see your message which didn't help the situation haha. I think for your win condition expanding your ore on the 5 10 and getting army, and using your YOP to city probably would have gotten you to 10 faster than plowing the wood port. That being said, ggs and thanks for coming by! No hard feelings of course anything i say is strictly related to the game itself.
It was a great play by you, 9/10 games you would get the 10/5 as well. On the other hand, great play by Hugh, i dont think i would hold and focus to plow you back. And sometimes you have to be lucky to make plays 🎉
@@alexandernater6284 why embarrassing though? Hugh was super lucky with his rolls. Otherwise that plow would have killed his game. When someone kills my game to better their I also make it the point of my game to make then not the winner.
Weirdly I think the apparent pettiness of Hugh’s follow up play worked the board towards his favor. Nobody else interfered with his expansion spots allowing him that sprawling setup. I think if he seemed more rational then he would have been penned in. You getting your expansion spots limited by him cut you out and made you reliant on the other players to keep his setup more reasonable
it's definitely not a great attitude. However, I think it's ok for me to want to get revenge on red in a social game as long as i keep it respectful in the chat and don't influence the game in an artificial way for other players. It was not an optimal move for their game so it didn't feel like good table management on their part to justify the extortion.
@@hughcatanfair point, you did keep it respectful in the Chat. I hope you do that offstream too ;) great Comeback! I just dont like these kinds of players (and there are sooooo many of em) that would really sacrifice everything just to make sure to kill the game of the guy who plowed them.
@@hughcatan I disagree that it wasn’t an optimal play. Getting the wood port from you plus the 5/10 is a fantastic play. But 3 sixes in a row giving you four roads to plow was unpredictable
@cruizin_usa2361 that's a very fair point, they were not mutually exclusive! I think i would have just built the road to the 5 10, settled there eventually, and saved the YOP for a future city rather than create an enemy and use your yop for a plow instead of a future city
@@hughcatan I agree about not making enemies which is why I offered not to plow if you did the 1:1 trade. But I can’t help but think you’re not being objective when you say just take the 510. Denying you the wood port + turning my 8 wood into a free card seems very valuable. If you were in my position I dont think you would just take the 510 and let your only real competitor have the wood port (black fell for the 659 ore trap in my opinion and blue relied on the 11 ore). I value your opinion so I really want to know if you think I made a suboptimal play being as unbiased as possible
WOW! For 1: Knowing he might be able to plough I would 100% take that trade. 2: Idk if you have a chance in hell to win this but I'm happy to watch and think you might : )
I think the attitude of you hurt me now all I want to do is hurt you is corny and kind of embarrassing honestly. You play to win the game. If Red made a bad play by plowing you think in return he hurt his own game. That is the “karma” sure it sucks and it’s annoying but it’s not as personal as you ego tells you it is
When Hugh's revenge mode gets activated, it's ggs
😈
"this one's for you red". LOL! Ultimate spite game.
HAHAH that was great. love seeing a a game ending plow end up being the win. Red couldnt have felt dumber im sure. Great win for you!
the revenge plow was definitely a nice feeling lol

much appreciated! the offense dictates the response. it's a social game!
Great sport and attitude. Great spirit too, kept making your next best move and it paid off this time. Nice to watch this.
thank you!

Haha love it when you win after a rough plow like that
it's a very satisfying feeling LOL
11:26 that attitude is so terrible... literally why 40% of ranked players are toxic

yo I think the other 6311 is better lock the 6 brick and go 4 11
You might be right about that!
