I have this same saw, love it. Only I had to pay for mine and they are not cheap! You must keep it dead straight on the push back because the thin blade will bend more easily than western saws.
Informative video. I am using Japanese saw more and more and found your remarks about pushing to be right on the mark. On thicker and harder lumber I found the blade binds often so sticking shim in the cut really helps.
love Suizan saws I use them for my saws when I campout in the backcountry the saw is lightweight and fits in the backpack and it cuts through firewood like butter!
+ManCraftingTM thank you! Careful they're addictive once you start using them. 😀 I've been using the saw in some recent projects as well. The crosscut side makes a clean cut in plywood.
I recently bought a dozuki saw from rockler store think it was 31$ and its only 7"? Give or take and I love it I love the cut on the pole action it's a lot more accurate feels like I have more control doesn't wander at all going to check these guys out considering that the blade is bigger and cheaper thanks for the demo chris!🍻
Joe basement woodworking the dozuki they sent is the 9" one. The dozuki saw in general is a great one to start with also. Once you get used to the ultra sharp blades and thin kerf you never go back 😀. Thank you for commenting Joe! I really appreciate it. There thing I like is some of the factory pictures they sent. I put those in the article.
Gergaji jepang Ryoba merk takagi, gyokuchu, life saw, zet saw dan suizan bagus mana ya mas klo d urutkan dr kualitas Dan merk mana yg kualitasnya setara
AdventuresInDIY i have the S-450 , S-651 , S-300 , S-371, one dozuki suizan & one ryob suizan I couldnt believe how great was cut at hand with japanese saw vs western. But i have to agree that in the edges western saws are a very little cleaner, but well for that are planes. Saluts
i have a doubt, i would like to adquire a ripcut saw bigger than mostly japanese saws, i would like something like a anahiki but i when i make the question to japanasewoodworkers.com they told me that the anakihi was a crosscut(i would like it to post and beam) this : www.japanwoodworker.com/products/13-1-2-sakimaru-willow-leaf-log-saw-hikoza but in a video u say that it can be use like a ripcut saw(in fact you use like a ripcut saw), what will you recomend me? and if you can show me the link to a other online shop i t would be reallly nice
Chris, maybe you could do a Suizan vs. Gyokucho shoot out. I have two of the Gyokucho and am curious if there is any difference between the two. Thanks for the great videos.
+James Ladnier actually it wouldn't be that bad. You could break it down for storage. Only thing is they make a folding saw for the pruning that would do better cutting larger diameter green wood.

Thankyou for the great review. I've only just found out about these saws and now, thanks to this review, I'm sold on purchasing one.

Thank you David. Thanks for the tip. Japanese saws can be addictive once you start using them.
I'm happy to introduce a saw made in Japan. I also introduce how to use a ryoba saw. I hope it will be helpful for everyone. Thank you!
The video is good. Tapping kanna is also good. Thank you.

Great review. I recently bought my first Japanese saw. I have a second on order from Iron and Sole. It's the same saw. The Suizan.

Ever used the one that is sold at Harbor Freight Tools? It looks pretty similar and has great reviews, but it is less than 1/3 of the price.

Is there anywhere you can get a cover for the blade?
Thanks for the info! I was really thinking about getting one for my projects and I will now :)
You're welcome. Thank you for watching!
Cute and complete review, thank you friend!
Thank you for watching and commenting Daniel!

Thanks for the great videos.
+oakenarm thank you. That's a good idea I'll have to see about getting the Gyokucho for comparison.
I would like to see review of azebiki saw.
Do yall think this would be a good bushcraft saw?
+James Ladnier actually it wouldn't be that bad. You could break it down for storage. Only thing is they make a folding saw for the pruning that would do better cutting larger diameter green wood.
Very good! Thank you.
sure is a good doogy
Thank you :) She's my little helper.
I mean probably, as a first saw, but you can't really resharpen it or adjust the teeth in any way, so in the long run it's a pretty bad saw.
