Pressure Washing Wood Decks - The Safe Way

Doc pressure washes an old deck / dock and prepares it for staining. Many old decks have soft areas including rotted wood. If you use a TIP to pressure wash these areas, you can blow out the old wood. The surface cleaner does a great job but cleans gently.

That thing is absolutely awesome! It's like vacuuming LOL! I never pressure washed anything in my life before and all those "horror stories" online about not pressure washing decks not to damage them. My 1400 square foot deck is looking so much better already. I am so grateful I watched this video to find the attachment.

Great video! Followed your approach on...my 20 year old dock on my farm, believe it or not! 😀Cleaner head worked great, replaced some PT boards, ready to roll. Follow-up question, I'm driving myself nuts on the best water-based stain/sealer to use. Folks both love and hate every stain I've looked at. How long does the Olympic Maximum last? To reapply in a few years, can I just put another coat right over top without stripping, etc.?

Isn't bad for the water ways to flush all the dirty water back from cleaning the boat dock into the h2o underneath the dock,doc.
No pun intended!
Also the water you have running to your pressure washer supply enough or more gpm to run the pressure so you don't ruin the pump on the pressure washer ?

The jets on the surface cleaner are a bit high in pressure. If your sir we cleaned hovers and u may need to add a brick or weighted object to keep the cleaner down on the surface u should lower the pressure by changing the jets..
At least that’s what the pros say lol
