Highly lyrical. A master workshop on tasteful soloing. He never loses sight of the melody. Its often tricky for many beginners to figure out what exactly fits with what. This a textbook, that needs to be studied repeatedly unless one is highly gifted.
Thank you for posting this video. I do call and response exercises with my students all the time but I have no one to lead me in a similar exercise. This was so much fun thank you. And it’s been really interesting to see new students over the years be able to do longer and longer call and response patterns. Similar to vocal warm-ups for singers, I think these basic djembe drills to help strengthen listening and technique skills is vital!
I have just found this & its fantastic. I belong to a Ghanaian drumming group but because of cover our lessons are on zoom but yr video id perfect for practising. Thank you 👍👍💕💕👍👍
I just found this and love it!!! I teach Taiko and would love to do this for my students but not sure how to put background track in without the sound i make on the drum reducing the background sound? Can you advise????
Hi djembeweaver, thanks for your uploads, I was wondering whether you are still active as your last videos and posts (in your blog) date back to 2015...thanks
