My name is Brutalion but the tip belongs to my girlfriend Durvanna: When recharging (remote or not) instead of recharging by keeping pressed the button of recharge (gains +10 ap), recharge it by several taps (gain 10 for each recharge). It might seem a very little, but at the end, if done evereyday with all recharges you make, it's a HUGE difference (specially these days where XP is 1.5xtra). Hope it helps you all and keep on doing these AMAZING ingress tips Collin. Thanks for your work, really appreciate!
***** I actually had someone mention that a few days ago. That one does work (to a point) since the recharge button still runs the same AP per recharge a just splits it among the reso's it increases ap only on the resos where hitting recharge once still leaves it needing a partial recharge. I'd say on the average it only returns 10-50 more AP per portal, but I'll toss it in as a side tip on a future episode. Might be useful to those that have far less portals that they can charge, or can't leave home as much.
***** Even better, select a single resonator and tap recharge until that portal is fully charged, then switch to the next resonator. I do this before sleep on portals for which I have keys. It's not effective on a portal that's actively being attacked, as it is too slow to prevent death. I can typically get 150+ AP this way on a portal that would only give me 20-30 AP using fast recharge all.
Even more, the amount of xm that you get in return for rechargin gresonators is bigger when you do it as Edward Bear says, so you use less power cubes to do your daily recharges! (if you are not using the "tactic" of recharging when you walk from one portal to another).
I have to say, I recently discovered your videos and they are quite informative and also quite motivating! Thanks for all the solid content! For the Enlightened!
I do the small town thing, I live in a town with 7 portals, 6 of them are solid L7(4x8 & 4x7), the other portal is a Level 5 to accommodate for lower level resonators. What I think is funny is when I was a Resistance agent, no one gave a hoot about my 7 portals and never came out to help me on them, now that I am Enlightened, Agents make the 40 mile one way trip 2-3 times a week to try and take them out! Thanks for your tips as well I have been playing for 8 months(combined) now and have learned several new hints and tricks.
Hello Collin Williams ! Here is a new cool video, thanks a lot. I'm just wondering about how did you get the screenshot in the tip n°5 (create a L8 portal with only 2 players) that we can see at 5'57 min ? It's a portal in my town (Nancy, France), named "Eglise Saint Vincent", and this screenshot is really really old... (For the story, this portal was the home portal of agent @pharaoh12;-) ) Thanks a lot for your awsome "Pro Tips" videos, you are doing a great job with it !
***** I try to create most of the screenshots myself, by going out and doing the action pre episode and taping it, but sometimes I run out of time(since each episode already takes 10-20 hours to make as is) and have to just go with a google image search instead.
You choosed a very old screenshot for this video, and it was the very first L8 portal in the town, and made with only 2 L8 players, just like you explained in this pro tip... Awesome !
I tried to register the Buddhist temple across the street but it wouldn't like me the first ingress key there's a lot of traffic Asians it go there every Saturday to their Lodge
Your tip about recharging when you're at the portal that is being attacked can use improvement. First, as you said, install shield mods. Great. But next, instead of recharging, deploy new resonators as old ones get destroyed. Not only is it more efficient in terms of time and XM (I'm always low on power cubes), you get more AP from it as well. At 125 per resonator, it can add up very quickly, especially in a prolonged attack. Compare that to 10 AP per recharge, plus having to burn through power cubes, and I'm sure you can see the advantages. Also, your tip about keeping one resonator charged applies really well to this method, especially if all the resonators are low and you risk losing them all to one XMP.
You don't need one player to be L8. The other player can be L6. This is because you will be flipping a L7 portal. The L8 player will place the last 8 and then the portal is an 8.
Oh, dear. I have hacked only *one* ADA the entire time I have played (level 8). I have been hoarding it in a capsule. I cannot imagine having twelve of them between two players! Great tip, but I will stick with asking agents from neighboring towns to come help. :-D
Carrie Keith ADA's/Jarvis's average about one every 1000ish hacks from what I've seen. Glyph hacking can improve those odds dramatically and for players in a small small town glyph hacking is almost a must. 2 players is an extreme example but in the case if Shelby Mt with no active players (last time I was there) and 5 portals which a nearest "bigger" town 70 miles away a new player might only be able to get 2 or 3 players to come up so the 4 player strategy would at least get them a lvl 8 portal they didn't have to drive 70 miles to reach
First, I really appreciate your protips, thank you for sharing them! I got this tip from other agents and they claim that it makes the portal stronger. What you do is that you place the two highest resonators d i r e c t l y on top of the portal. And then, as usually, you place the other six resonators as far away from the portal as possible. By doing this the agents claim that the resonators on top of the portal protects the mods from ultrastrikes and that the portal is harder to take down. I don´t know if this is true, however, it´s a very common that agents from both factions use this strategy in my town. I sometimes use it myself and I do think it´s harder to take down a portal of this kind. However, I could just be imagining it :) Maybe you can test this strategy and se if it´s true!
I'll have to run some tests on it for sure. It'll just be a touch trickier to test since I'll need luck or an opposing agent to work with on testing without win trading... It's on the list though
Wouldn't a better use of the viruses be to find and hijack a L8 portal from the opposite team? Maybe even in another town? 1 agent + 1 virus = 1 L8 portal instead of: 2 agent + (6+6 virus) = 1 L8 portal
Sion That would be, but in the areas we're talking about there almost always is no other level 8 portals. These' are remote areas with few players and few portals
When someone has "nz" at the end of their handle it's likely they're a kiwi (New Zealander). And we would much prefer it if you pronounce it en-zed rather than en-zee.
I love the host's sense of humor - his presentation is fantastic.
Seahawks FTW yaaaaaaay Seahawks! (I grew up in Portland and just moved back to SLC from Tacoma)
Collin Williams We Pacific Northwesterners sure find our way around the country these days eh? 😁👊

Great tips, love all the little jokes you throw in all your videos like at 2:32 lol

Edward Bear we actually covered the resonator way in Protips 4, this was an auxiliary tip

Dan Loughran excellent point and something I missed! If I run a correction in future Protips I'll make sure to give you a shout out :)
Collin Williams if you do, use my agent name. Whisk33 Resistance!
Can do!
I noticed after I hacked Sam Lena Park all kinds of Pokemon we're everywhere when I switch games maybe it was a coincidence ?

Yeah, finding a smurf that will cooperate, that can be real tricky :) Looking forward on the results of your tests!

Cool tips , bizarre humor.
