I don’t get the joke.
the game is heavily inspired by another game for gamecube "parappa the rapper" in which you were tasked to repeat button presses right after your tutor, but you could get a higher score by freestyling instead, pressing more buttons than told, making your own version of their song
the mechanic was really fun and fresh but unfortunately no other game seems to have succeeded in it

@@pinguin4898 I searched up a video of it really quick because it’s been a while. I think it’s because most games (like Scratchin’ Melody) makes songs/lyrics to only be played one way, so it sounds weird when you try to remix it because it breaks the flow.
Meanwhile, Parappa plays more into the actual rhythm of the song, so you can make Parappa remix/scat most of the lyrics and it works because the song was meant to be able to remix
(Does that make sense? Sorry if it doesn’t, it’s pretty late so my brain is running slower)

They want to let the player have freedom so... In exchange Melodii's parts sound awful in S-rank... But it makes sense why since the voice clips when repeated sound dumb. But for the scratching part it sound pretty cool

At least in a couple parts you can get some sentence-mixing to make it at least sound somewhat like the lyrics you had in mind, for example, "Waves of th-the water wa-break down wa-the tension" vs "waves above the water will break down all the tension"

lol, there's not really a comparison. It's just the S rank song overpowering the normal one and having to listen to that on echo at full blast, a comparison would be stop one and then let the other play, whether you cut them up into small sections or back to back is whatever, but this is just S rank with both animations which are almost identical
