Another great video Bob. Thank you for taking the time. Great to see a 769 in service as well. Much of my working time is spent on these machines at the moment and there is a huge team effort to get them working the way we all want them to. New target post covid is to catch a 769 to go and see the view from the viaduct myself. Thanks again.
They have had a rough introduction but it's good to see them settling down. I am looking to get on one myself soon. Planning to walk from Taffs Well to Aber and come back on one.
We had a neighbour in Hengoed (1973 - 1987) who remembered Hengoed Junction. Some of the tracks still remained from this very busy junction, while we still lived there.
Did a repointing job on that viaduct about 10-12 years ago, with cradles slung down. Dawnus was the Contractor. Memorable was the masonry work.. Good work Bob..
Just found your channel through this video and you do so many videos that are of massive interest to me and my research into a lit of the old railways and station in Cardiff and the Valleys. Thanks for being awesome, I'll subscribe now.
@@bobsrailrelics I recently taken some photos of Cefn Coed Viaduct, Merthyr Tydfil if you me to share with you and if you are interested there is a tunnel near Quakers Yard, railway station in the Treharris area.
@@ninfilms yes please. I am looking at relics in the south valleys at the moment but will head up there at some point. If you have a Flikr site then please share.
Thanks, we take my granddaughter for a walk there on occasions as she loves the Gren memorial bench. She calls him the "silly man" Really appreciate positive comments from a local.
May I recommend - th-cam.com/video/Rdjs1btPIWw/w-d-xo.html - Some great 60's steam footage of South Wales. Viaducts and tunnels. I am not familiar with South Wales lines, but there are places that I have seen you exploring.
All my family live around Hengoed, Ystrad Mynach and Maesycwmer..... great video.😊
Thank you, I have family up there as well so it was interesting to actually research the history of it. Glad you enjoyed it.
Fascinating structure(s). Thank you. :)
Superb Video! Kind regards
Thank you. More planned in the next month or so.

Thanks.
Great video. Very detailed. I recently cycled from Trelewis to Risca (celtic trail) with my son. Beautiful trail.
Thanks, I need to explore more along the trail, so much is built on old railways

Maesycwmmer not Masycwmmer. Maes rhymes with Mice.
