What a great video! Hours and hours of led me to this exact information. I wish I had just seen this first! Thank you for the guidance with setting up for creek/river smallies!!
I am a riverbank fisherman here in Fredericton New Brunswick. Our main Saint John river here is over 4000 feet wide. The Nashwaak river about 500 feet with a island at the mouth of the Nashwaak River. I use softbaits to top water baits in river current
Hi, new subsriber here. Graet vid on river smallies. How do you fish your senko baits? I fish a small, shallow weedy river in Illinois. Keep up the great work. Thanks
Great video. I am a avid smallmouth fisherman myself. I love using grubs on the susquehanna River. Catch alot of decent fish on those. Keep up the videos. I live in PA. The susquehanna River is loaded with quality fish. Going april 1st on a guided trip. A friend of mine is a guide. Never been disappointed. Even caught my personal best with him. Again keep posting. Good luck this year
Hey, great video! I appreciate you going over colors as well because most people don't. Also, a couple of questions. Where in a river would you fish? Like, near the Rapids, the big pools, etc? And, what weight would i put on the grubs/tubes? Thanks!
Alex W. Outdoors it all varies from river to river, but what remains consistent is runs. Runs always hold fish but you want to find runs that are at least 8 inches deep. They hold them year round. Use a 1/4th ounce for tubes and grubs. That is the best overall weight you can ask for.
Great video 👍 just quit giving our secrets away 😉 I do have a question seems like in the last 2-3 years I am n ot catching as many fish in the French broad around ville as B4 are you and why
Good question!! With more developing going on in the area, the fishing has changed a bit. While it’s definitely not like it used to be back in early 2000’s, our rivers are getting cleaner. This is because of local orgs like AVL greenworks and FBRK. It could also be because of more tubers and rec. traffic on the river which is awful for us anglers.
What about in heavy current? Like almost white water?
Not many fish in the whitewater, but where the current is stronger try a crank bait or a similar bait to get down deeper.
Thank you for video
I do alot of river fishing my self. I still learning
You are welcome

Great video, thanks for all the detail. What lb test braid do you recommend for river smallies, and why? Thanks!
I recommend using 10-15 lb braid. Nothing bigger because the current will not be able to cut through it as well.
Great video...
Thank you!
Nice video..Where do I get the Sinko-Fluke baits..I want some..I need to know how to set them up for fishing river smallies..Thanks!
Tacklewarehouse, Walmart, Sportsmans etc. Texas Rig.

Can you do a video on spots?
Thank you for the suggestion! We will try to do that in 2021!
Awesome video! Really appreciate the tips! You should do some videos on the river!
I fish straight 20 pound 10 pound test braid with a 6ft medium heave Shakespeare rod and a Shakespeare 5•6•1 ratio reel
