Rhett really lost the plot with that 2nd one. Even if I liked oysters I'm pretty sure I would gag at somebody telling me I'm eating the tongue of a teenage girl.
As a previous picky eater, biggest thing that helped was taking cooking classes suprisingly. Being taught how to make complex dishes all with ingredients I liked (even sometimes ingredients I didn't) and it being a delicious outcome made me way more willing to try new foods. Now if I go to a restaurant I'm not going to order a new dish at risk of hating it, but if I'm with someone and they get something I've never had, I'll try it. Major progress for me

Wouldn't work for me. I have anxiety and will panic. And there's only one person in my life that wouldn't feed me my allergies/sensitivities. My family kinda refuses that I have allergies and says to just keep trying. I'm not gonna keep trying things that hurt me.

I started eating tomatos because of Caprese Salad as well! I thought it looked so refreshing and appatizing, but I knew I didn't like tomatoes...but I took a leap of faith, loved it and been eating my tomatoes like a brave soldier ever since! (although I agree with Link, they need to be without the yiggly-seedy-horror inside)
I feel for Link in this episode. I'm extremely picky too but my main issues are textures. I can not mind the taste but the more I eat of certain textures the more I want to throw up. A lot of them I can't even begin to get down.

For tomatoes, I was hoping to see a toasted tomato sandwich. It's just buttered toast, mayonnaise, sliced tomatoes, and some salt and pepper. You could also put cheese on it if you want.
For anyone wanting to try oysters, it goes much better with a mignonette than teenage tongue. It's just a sauce made of vinegar and shallots but it's perfect for oysters.
