@@nickthecynic587 It's pretty fuckin OP as it is right now. Get the right parts and you literally have nonstop 1 missile per second firing until you run out in the campaign. It's surpassed only by the PLSL, but both are super good considering they can target ground and air tgts. And considering there are parts in Multiplayer that can make standard missiles act like mini-QAAMs, I can't imagine how much of a bitch this thing would be to fight against.
I've never played Ace Combat 2, so perhaps I can't really appreciate the XFA as much as everybody else, but it's still a cool-looking plane. And after playing Ace Combat 3 on an emulator, I have to say that firing four standard missiles at once is a powerful feeling.
Since standard missiles pretty much behave like QAAMs when upgraded, this thing can spam like no other. If you were to let this thing hug your ass for too long, it'll blow your Nosferatu out of the sky, like any other fighter really.
Not really, the micro-missiles actually have lower power than regular missiles along with worse stats across the board (like homing). There's also a substantial delay between ADMMs and regular missiles after a major salvo, while the XFA-27A regains its MSTL much faster (again, because they're just regular missiles).

This game has been out for nearly two years and still, seeing the Arsenal Bird’s shield go down always gives me chills. Seeing it with the XFA-27, the OG original aircraft next to the ADF-01 makes it even better.
XFA-27: Allied Forces Last Hope in the 1997-1998 Continental War. The fighter with which "Phoenix" ended the war against the coup d'état. Combine the F-14 with the shapes and maneuverability of stealth fighters. Due to classified information, it is unknown where it was made (possibly the FCU) or who produced it (possibly the General Resource). The problem is that the XFA-27 was only used once. And the subsequent conflicts was not present. And "Phoenix" preferred its F-22A. And the MTSM missiles could go to the two-seater F-22B. The XFA-27 is a stealth fighter operating from an aircraft carrier. The CFA-44 was not successful. The only successful on-board fighter with stealth technology is the Lockheed Martin F-35C Lightning II. I would like to ask you about the rating of Ace Combat Zero skins. Dealing with Hugin, Munin, and the small drone that comes out all within like 3-4 minutes was fucking SURREAL. They straight up cannot outmaneuver that many homing missiles. Their last evasion maneuver puts them right into the danger zone of the next salvo. I didn't even SEE the first kill because I fired at 3-4 at Munin, Hugin did something so I switched over to it, and I got HIT HIT DESTROYED while turning at Hugin. Just... damn.
This actually bothers me so much. I love everything about this aircraft's design, except for the yaw-axis vectoring. It already has two engines next to each other and four stabilizers around them; it has no shortage of yaw control. There is literally no reason to do this. Pitch-axis vectoring would actually contribute something to the plane's capabilities.
The MTSM is considered a special weapon, so it needs special weapon mods. I slapped homing on it, so now both my main missiles and "specials" have very nice homing.

First saturation attack was to trigger the shield. They were going to commence another the moment the shield went down, but they didn't anticipate the laser, which took out most of the fleet and made another saturation attack impossible.

In contrary of one "ace pilot", there's one entity that its role is directly a flip coin to your every ace pilot. A monster that keeps resetting the reality for your preferred reality outcome, distorting continuity, purging people's minds as some sort of divine intervention, making unthinkably huge calamity and chaos over the world that makes even the main antagonist begging you if you hadn't existed and why you did truly evil and selfish deeds to him. I mean considering Cipher and Scarface 1 are Mercenaries. Pretty sure that doesn’t mean anything really. But so far in AC it’s like implying they are the most badass.
im pretty sure nemo from ac3 is better than both of them. He's the perfected version of all the past enemy ai with a ridiculously powerful super plane
Dude what’d you expect between the human pilots against an Advanced AI Program that’s got the combat flight data of almost every available event that happened from the decades and data from the ZOE programs and capable of developing into what feels like a normal human being it’s like Pinocchio or some thing like that all over again. Except he was made by a Neucom scientist with a vengeance.
And by what I’m saying of course Nemo would wipe the floor with any Ace. Granted Cipher and Scarface are either retired or by this point aren’t even alive anymore to begin with.
Is it just me or is the XFA-27 a lot less mobile compared to its appearance in Legacy?
