    its a modern day 35 rem... which I have always loved to shoot! excellent deer and black bear cartridge, I suppose the 360 will come into the same in time. its perfect for lower Michigan deer season, now with the straight wall law.

    I lucked into one in brass, couldn't find the steel. Gorgeous sweet shooting rifle.

    Shooting technique can make a world of difference! All things considered, the combo shoots well.
    Good presentation.

    You need a lead sled. I got one just like yours and it shoots moa but will definitely heat up fast. I put a leupold 1.5x4 on mine for now. It’s what I had I wasn’t using. Good lever scope for woods use

    Yeah man,, I like the looks the side gate too, but on my new 360, I'm going to always use the tube port, to keep the new look to my Henry X.

    Iv got that same scope base on my 360 turn it around so the mount sits on top the riffle all the way it hanging over in the front like that will allow the scope to jump around . Try that and see if groups tighten up 😉🙃

    Good video it real compares up to a 35 Remington to me

      Yeah.... I think they may not want to do the 35 Remington compare thing.... new compared to old.
      To me it also compares to the 375 Winchester too.
      Yes, it's for the Midwest. But why feel stuck with the "just for the midwest" thing?
      It's a "better 30-30".... considering that all I seem to hunt deer with anymore is a 200 yard cartridges... and my shots are all under 100 yards anyways.... why not use this new 35 caliber cartridge??? It looks easy to carry all day, compared to my 8+ pound 30-06!
      Plus, I love 35s... (I'm biased!)
      And don't need my 8.5 pound 35 Whelen either.
      The gun looks accurate, too.
      I can not wait to try one with my chronograph to see how close the velocities are to the published figures.
      THEN the handloading begins...!
      It looks like a great companion in the woods! AND better than a 30-30.
      It appears comparable to my handloaded 300 Savage, 356 Winchester, or my 6.5 X 55....
      Which are all "200 yard" deer guns.... especially when all my deer are generally shot at under 100 yards.
      BTW...
      I don't live in the Midwest anymore. I live and hunt in the mountains of Virginia.

    My 35 rem Marlin use to shoot 3" at 100yds with the corelokts, when Hornady came out with the lever rev ammo, it took the old 35 to 1, 1.5" groups at 100. hopefully hornady will get in the ammo game.

    Living in Ohio, I plan to add a 360 to my vault. Henry makes quality firearms. I would ditch those rings as they look like more of a distraction then blending in with the firearm, just my personal perspective. Decent shooting, and I'm sure it would do better. Have you shot the 180gr out of it, if so, what were the groups like.

      I have not I’ve only been able to find the 200 grains and I kind of like the scope rings on it as well. But it’s just a personal perspective. Hope you subscribed and thanks for watching

      About the same as the old 35 remington, so should be a good one.

      Funny you should mention the 35. I just picked up the first year production Remington model 141 in 35 Remington. This one has never been drilled for a scope. @@dale3738

    could you have mounted the rings directly to the receiver, instead of that rail creating height?

    You said you had signed it in at a 100 yd.
    So I would think that it would shoot a little high at fifty like it was doing period

    Good information, however instead of spending your money on tattoos you should get better equipment for sighting in.

    The 360 BG is an answer in search of a question. It has to compete with the already well established 350 Legend in straight wall states like Ohio. The 350 Legend is available in cheaper bolt action rifles than more expensive Henry and Marlin. The 350 Legend has plenty of power for deer, black bear and hogs. And it does not kick much, about the same as the 30-30. The ammo is cheap and available everywhere. These are the insurmountable obstacles the 360 BH faces so it is highly unlikely it will catch on. At best it might end up as a niche cartridge for Alaska and Canada for use on bears, elk and moose.

    • @fjalics
      @fjalics ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The 360 is rimmed, so it works in lever action rifles with tubular magazines. The 350 legend works in bolt action rifles, and ARs.

    • @PassivePortfolios
      @PassivePortfolios ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I know,. Also the 350 Legend bolt actions rifles are cheaper than the 360 BH lever actions.

      @@PassivePortfolios * I'm more interested in performance. I believe the .360 outperforms the .350, especially if one handloads.

    • @PassivePortfolios
      @PassivePortfolios ปีที่แล้ว

      @@charlessmith4242 it may make a difference on larger game such as elk, moose and bear but on deer either round will do the job just fine. So it goes back to availability, cost of ammo and rifles, and recoil.

    • @charlessmith4242
      @charlessmith4242 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PassivePortfolios * Concerning availability, it's not very fair to compare a round ( or available rifles ) that has been around for a few years to one that has just been released. If the 30--30, .35 Rem., and the like or satisfying elk, moose, and Black bear rounds, the .350 Legend should also qualify as well as the .360 B.H. The .350 Legend is a lighter recoiling round than the .360 B.H., but both are pretty easy on the shoulder. The cost of ammunition goes back to the availability question, time will sort all of this out. I understand that different rifle manufactures are going to start chambering the .360 B.H. Will someone put it into a bolt action, who knows. The hand loader will get the most out of the .360 B.H., especially if he has a single shot or a lever action with a box magazine. Also, bullet selection is much better for the .358 diameter bullets that are used in the .360 B.H., as opposed to the smaller diameter bullets that are used in the .350 Legend.
