I just have to say: from her introduction, to this point to where she goes in the rest of the series, Ultear is easily one of the best written characters in this show.
When we found out about Ur during the Galuna Island Arc, they established she lost her kid and had been living by herself since then. A young Lyon offered himself as a substitute for her late daughter because he wanted her to train him in maker magic but she turned down his offer. She still trained him and Grey but didn't see them as replacements for her daughter. Things would have been so much different had Ultear simply walked up to her that day, they would have figured out they had been lied to. Ur may have even gone after the facility for lying to her and what they did to her daughter.
10:28 "I can't remember his name." Given his current skin tone, that's Brain. His alternate personality is called Zero but he turns pale when that one comes out. This is before he seals Zero away, given the lack of facial markings.
Ultear kind of reminds me of Obito Uchiha. They both regarded the world they were living on as a lie or temporary where their actions in it were necessary to bring up the world their desire: Ultear by going back in time and change her past and Obito by creating the "perfect world" with the Infinite Tsukuyomi. In their perspective, it didn't matter how immoral their actions were or how many people they hurt, as that wouldn't matter once they had reached their goal.
Ultear's backstory is really amazing. Sure part of it is common childhood trama causes her to grow up messed up. But it is so interesting that she dedicated her life to time magic and her obsession with getting more power was not stereotypical villian wants power but she wanted to amplify her time powers so she could go back in time and change things. This selfish yet understandable desire is so amazing deep down this pure evil villianess who seemed to have no guilt at all did have a concience but she was probably telling herself constantly that nothing she does would really hurt anyone because she was going to go back in time and change things. It would even put things in a light that she was afraid of to even consider that she might fail or then she would need to accept all the suffering she caused was real. So her ruthlessness only grew not becuase she didn't have a concience but because she was afraid to even think that she might fail at going back in time and that any of the actions in this timeline were "real".
Brain was there the leader the oracion seis and lied to Ur about Ultear being died also it's awesome for to see her memories because in the end of galuna island Ur's ice melted and went to the ocean so it made since she was able to see the memories

Ultear can affect living things, but only vegetals I won't spoil Gray's future battles, but he is a genius : every other battle will show how creative and intelligent he is
I feel like they did Juvia a little dirty here. I mean, to be fair, I laughed, but after fighting so hard to show her resolve and showing Meldy so much empathy, it went straight back to "Juvia's cray-cray." Juvia could have turned into a flash flood. No was anyone escaping from that. Maybe if Meldy had the sense to get to higher ground, then we could have had Juvia come after her as a creepy love spider. Speaking of characters who don't get the recognition they deserve, there's Virgo in a bikini! And Lucy. Still. Doesn't. Notice. Her! From the first time Lucy used Virgo's key ("I picked a form I thought you'd like, Princess"), that pink-haired sweetheart has been dropping thousand-pound solid concrete hints, but Lucy, smart as she is, could not spot a clue with the James Webb Space Telescope. Maybe all the sub/dom flirtation goes over Lucy's head (though if Edolas Lucy is any gauge, she might be into it at least a little), but all the "here, I've brought you another cute outfit," "let me help you dress," "let me help you undress" ought to have registered at some point. What's a girl got to do? Wrap around her thigh and start furiously grinding? (That fanfic is out there somewhere.) C'mon, Lucy, pay attention and give the poor girl a yes or a no.
Ultear gonna be one of your fav heroines after this arc....She's precious...can't blame her fully...it's that certain villains' (if you know who i meant) fault turning her life into nightmare.
Yikes! I am super behind on your reactions! This episode went from me laughing my head off at Juvia to absolutely disgusted with Brain. 100% convinced that he’s the worst villain of Fairy Tail, even beating out Zeref… the guy who has death magic and created literal demons. Nearly every other villain has some sort of reasoning/backstory for their actions. Brain’s just psychotic and mentally sick.

Yeah Ultear’s backstory is pretty damn sad and makes her sympathetic villain.
What fucked me up is that since they lied to Ur, she didn't have anyway to properly grieve. She didn't have a body to bury.
Wow! The truth behind Ultear's past was incredible depressing, thank goodness that she finally found the truth behind her mother losing her.😢😢😢
