Upon testing, the mov did not explode even at 300 volts ac. Why?

7d471 is for 220/240v appliances. It should be in parallel with live & neutral

If load consumption is 5A, we can use 10 or 20A varistor, when varistor shorts , 5A fuse easily burn that is before varistor
