I know this is an old comment but I just had to respond. I actually wasn't a big fan of him when this show first started and now I can hardly believe there was ever a time I had anything bad to say about him at all. I think back then I just didn't get him yet, like his sense of humour and his way of talking. He was always saying that the other dads (Tablo, Sung-hoon, Hyeon-seong) had it so easy compared to him, because they didn't have twins. I felt like he was always complaining, when in reality it was just a mixture of him joking/his sense of humour and simply being overwhelmed, and using humour as a way to cope. Once I'd been watching the show for a while and got to know him through the episodes, he grew on me and now I absolutely adore the guy. I also love his and Jeong-won's relationship. They are so sweet together.
I feel bad for Jeah and jeasi. Donggook seems to be strict to them. Although they are athletes, they are still little girls deep inside. I hope that DG will treat them as princesses for at least one day, they deserve it

I'm the eldest of five children and my parents are strict on me and the second oldest. That's how some Asian families are some are really strict to the oldest while the parents have to bend the rules for the younger siblings.

Whenever I'm in a contest, I only see my mother but after the competition and I got home , I can see my father secretly smiling. And I guess , Jaea and Jaesi are too good and responsible enough to handle such attention . Donggook gives them compliment whenever they achieve and even when they're at lost. Going back to this episode where donggook appa teaches seol-su-dae about the importance of money really hits me now since i became an adult. This gives me some Flashbacks like when i was a child, i used to be like Seola and Sua whom whenever had the chance of having money, i immediately buy something quickly. Now that i am an adult, i want to have this mindset like daebak (Sian) that you should carefully choose what will you really like to buy and don't spend it too quickly.
I think they're complimenting the calm side if him because blowing up isn't going to help them learn. I think he should be more like Ilkook: he was calm yet stern. Dongkook just tells them that what they're doing is wrong, and even teenagers ignore that.
It's not really a big deal. They're just at the age where their curiosity is really hard to resist. He knew that and it was his fault for leaving the cake unguarded. They will grow out of it and they'll remember a dad that was easygoing and fun rather than grumpy and unpleasant to be around. I wish I knew this when I was raising my child
I think dongguk should start disciplining seola and sua but in a good way. They're acting like that because dongguk just shrugs on what troubles that they do. I don't want to dislike them but I can't help it so I hope he will start disciplining them
