Buutenks is my favorite form of Buu, and the most intimidating in my opinion. I know Buutenks is stronger than Gohan, but not by a massive amount. Gohan might have been able to hold his own until the fusion wore off, but Buu's mind games crushed his spirit.

Unfortunately, Gohan had to take a big L in the process but hey your not going to like every creative decision but giving how the series ends I think it worked out for the best.
the reason buu says "he doesnt" when gohan says hes gonna show why goten looks up to him, is because buu can actually know and feel what the peoples hes absorbed are thinking. its the same reason he initially agree to wait for 1hr on the lookout when videl asked him to wait because he had absorbed fat buu and that buu loved mr satan. also if you notice, buu didnt have a nose before but he got one after absorbing gotenks and picolo and he also got the gotenks vest because he gains the features of those he absorbs. he was also grey and skinny but he gained the pink color and some muscle after he absorbed fat buu.

If you think about it the Supreme Kai failed literally everything right from the get go. Everything he did was just mindnumbingly stupid. By far the biggest failure in all of Dragonball

But even in dbz evidence of that when he doesn't realize how strong goku and vegeta and the rest are. Gassing up dabura who is just as strong as cell the character who goku and the rest fought 7 years ago not to mention all the other soldiers that are like fodder. if supreme kai paid attention to the universe he should be watching he would have known that pui pui and all these people below cell are light weight. Sure you could maybe believe dabura be a challenge after 7 years later not likely but that at least makes sense since cell was a challenge for our cast. But supreme kai should not be sweating about people weaker than dabura/cell

It's like the Cell games all over again Gohan's Powers got to his head he lacks conviction but also he doesn't take the fight seriously. Nor would Trunks allow Buu to be doing all this talking and making up the rules on who he wants to fight. Trunks would have stopped all of that This is why Future Trunks is probably has an edge and is number one. Beause everything that he's been through he's not playing games if Trunks was in the same position as Gohan and got a huge power up the fight with Buu would have been over within 5 minutes. Trunks is not holding back, or playing games he's going to end the fight immediately. If you're a threat to Earth and kill innocent people he's not giving you Second Chances nor is he stringing along the fight. It's straight business

Unfortunately, Gohan once again letting his overconfidence getting the best of him. Now Gotenks and Piccolo have been absorbed by Majin Buu and has become stronger than Gohan. I can't wait for Alexis to see the upcoming episodes that will blow her mind.
He literally told the boys to stand down and let him fight but they didn't listen. The blame here is not 100% on Gohan. In the manga the absorption happens instantly and it's not dragged out for dramatic effect like it is in the anime, he had no clue what was going on. Supreme Kai knew about Buu's absorption but he never told anyone about it. Again this is not entirely Gohan's fault here.
Fact is that form of ultimate Gohan is way stronger than Goku SSJ3 Super buu is stronger than SSJ3 Goku,but stronger than Fat Buu. Butenks is on new level for Z fighters

Becus Goku & Vegeta underestimated Buu earlier, Vegeta had to sacrifice himself, leaving Goku with his remaining earth-time. Goku's dead. Vegeta is MIA. Either way, they'd hav to wait several more hours to finish if kai does more rituals on short notice.

@NocSlays it wudve been either Goku or Gohan in that case. Goku was effectively "dead" after his time ran out. Then, when elder kai sensed Gohan's power, he approached him instead of Shin. Beyond that instance, it wudve taken too long for a 2nd person to do the ritual. Goku wud prefer not get a power-up but has in a time of need even if only temporary. In fact, no saiyan actively looks for power ups unless it's necessary.
