When you said maybe you're turning more into a concealer person than a foundation person, I had to comment. As much as I try getting into using foundations, I just can't. I have so many and I just don't reach for them outside of special occasions. I take really good care of my skin and prep my skin really well with skincare before I apply my makeup. As a result, my personal base of choice is concealer- around the eyes, centre of the face to brighten, and anywhere else as needed. It consistently gives the best results, and it's always the best match for my olive skin as my skin shows through here and there which I love. There's a more "perfected" look when using foundation (and I use it sparingly), but there's something more ethereal-looking (?) or youthful when using just concealer. I haven't used foundation daily since I was in highschool and now I'm in my 50's; I can't see myself ever going back. Now I just need to stop buying foundations.. lol The Basma one has me all sorts of curious though. ;)
makes so much sense!! plus I think the formulas are just a lot more elegant than they used to be. Back in the day all we either had full coverage concealers or YSL touche eclat. now there are so many beautiful options with medium coverage that are great all over the face. the basma stick and shade range looks very good 👀 would love to check it out in person. Hopefully one of my local Sephoras starts carrying the line
I could not agree more! I do the same thing! Foundation tends to look heavy on my skin so I just use concealer where I need it and I much prefer that method. What skincare do you use if I may ask? 😊

I have bought and thrown away so many full foundations over the years as every time I put it on I was not happy with my skin. I take good care of my skin as well and only ever have a few slightly dark blemish scars occasionally that fade over time as I also have light olive skin, and a very light layer on my nose and chin when I’m a little red). My fav concealer is Dior forever 2 warm olive (the new formulation color is lighter than the old formula color so works for me now. I used to have to mix it with a light yellow corrector to lighten it in case you need it lighter). What kind of concealer do you use?

I do know what u mean, I've been moving between my kitchen bench and my bedroom cupboard glass doors and I have a Mecca bag that has some Charlotte Tilbury / Bobbi Brown make up. On my hunt to find the Armani Neo nude in the shade 20 that I could not find anywhere in Canada or in the USA to buy online, I found it while not searching for it brosing through makeup in a Sephora at the Santa Maria Novella train station in Florence while waiting for my train. It was their last one so I jumped on it. :-).
Not mentioned on this video but I wanted to thank you for being the first to make me aware of Baby Universe. I finally bought it and it is worth the hype! I don't get any fallout as some have experienced. I usually like more pigment but these colors are just what I was looking for: slightly mauvier neutrals than anything I have. I did a traditional eye look with it yesterday: the light brown on my lid and crease, a drop of the darker brown on the outer corner, a pop of the lightest shade above the iris. I lined my bottom lash line and waterline with Laura Mercier Amethyst Caviar Stick and went over that with a pencil brush dipped in the darker shimmery shade. I finished up with a navy pencil on my upper waterline and Victoria Beckham brown pencil smudged on my upper lashline.
Baby universe will forever be an all time favorite for me. Glad that you are loving it too. Now you’ve inspired me to pair it with Laura Mercier Amethyst!!

That guerlain foundation scent is STRONG and doesn't dissipate. I couldn't find a nice color match either so I'm returning mine. I miss when guerlain used to carry parure gold; that stuff didn't budge.
Hi Sandra, I used to love Chanel. Our counter closed in my town, very sad. I have to travel 3 hours round trip see any products. As far as makeup, I got the Lawless lip liner in honey rose and the Merit lip oil in taupe. Love the liner and I haven't had much time to try out the lip oil. My 2nd order is coming tomorrow. I have the Saie concealer and the glam one palette by Lawless. Hoping I will get along with both of them.

I applied it twice, once with brush and tried to perfect it but ended up with more product/foundation than I normally would and didn’t look great. I removed it after mid day and reapplied using a sponge, I spread it with my fingers and then quickly used the sponge as dries FAST and the result was great but less coverage, still seeing my redness. Anyway, I shouldn’t try so hard to be pleased by the finish ( it reminds me of the Shiseido self refreshing foundation 😮💨). I have another technique tomorrow 🧐😀😘
Hello Sandra. I ended up with the Givenchy Prism powder in #3, the rose color and I love it. I 'm also loving the Armani blush in Euphoric and I can use it alone or as a topper because of it's stunning glow. You would love it. I bought a mini size of the Kosas concealer to try, but still intrigued by the Givenchy one. Ulta had a $10 off $40 deal so I bought Dior Mimirose finally after hearing how much you love it for eons. The other items I bought were replacements for sunscreen , Kosas brow pencil and a few other things. I could have done more damage but refrained for the sake of my bank book. Wow, that Becca Capri coast just won't die. LOL Hopefully spring will be with you soon. It's really nice here in NYC. Hang on girl!

I bought Hourglass equilibrium eye cream which I love it, the Soft fluid foundation from La Mer my friend got it and she love it so I needed to try it, Tom Ford eye quad shadow Sous Le Sable, Sulwhasoo anti aging first care activating serum and the last but not least Augustinus Badder the daily essential duo the rich cream which so far I am pleased with, Ohh also Acqua di Gioia Eau de parfum, love it. I try to swatch in person in store for the best results. I don’t love a super bright under eye on myself so i usually go for a concealer shade described as light medium with neutral undertones, and that usually works for both my face and under the eyes. if I want something specific under the eyes for brightening I usually go a shade lighter and with a peachy undertone 🙂

I did order the Guerlain foundation and I’m kinda bummed it didn’t work for you cause I have texture and dry patches it’s on its way. I guess I will find out when it gets here but I apply sunscreen 4 times a day so if it doesn’t play well with that I’m not gonna be thrilled since I don’t go out at night.
I went into the store 6 times during the sale trying to pick up correct shades in concealers and foundations. I’m still shocked that I got shade 5 in Armani luminous silk concealer considering I’m fair neutral skin tone. Now I have more concealers than foundations, which is a lot, so I’m also turning into a concealer person. I also got a Danessa Myricks product to mix into my foundations to make them darker when I fake tan.

The Givenchy is more luminous! but similar longevity and coverage. Givenchy is like if you mixed power fabric and luminous silk concealers from Armani together!
Sorry if you’ve said before Sandra, may I ask why separate setting powders? Does the Givenchy not work well all over the face and vice versa with the Atlier? ❤️
The shade I have in the Givenchy leans pink and is brightening on my skin tone so I don’t like to use it all over. Looks best under the eyes and to brighten the center of the face for me. Depending on your skin tone you may be able to use it all over. Just a matter of personal preference.

another tip - if you do have a good foundation match, search for the foundation name and your shade on TH-cam to see videos of other people that use it, and then go to their channel and see what other foundations they’re buying in which shades. could be another helpful point of reference 🙂
For makeup (before purchasing), I always use TH-cam as a reference to see people applying the product also, and hopefully they swatch it on their hand as well as a bonus. I'll find as many videos possible in potential shades for my skin tone... narrowing it down. You start to get really good at it. When going to a store, always remember to bring your best foundation match with you in your purse to compare.

Armani shades are very weird and the numbering is confusing, I am also 5 and 4.5 is much darker!
