  • The separation between deer hunters and successful big buck killers is there is no rest for the killers. Every day is spent thinking about the plan, studying maps, scouting, and just planning your next whitetail chess move...

    That buck grunting was incredible. I’ve heard loud roars like that once, after hunting for the past 25 years

    Your not a bad person Dan! God placed a passion on your heart thats worthy of persuing. I dont know if your a believer, i certainly hope so and even deer hunting can be a platform to glorify the Lord. Hes certainly been good to you out in His deer woods. Have a great season this year, cant wait to see your results! 🦌🤺🙌

    Thanks for the great content. I enjoy hunting but I'm not consumed by it. I retired from the US Army in 2010 and just hunt for the meat and the joy of occasionally fooling a nice buck. In this way, I leave more bucks for Dan and he gets to make great hunting videos for me to watch. Thanks again Dan for all your dedication.

    Funny...had to laugh at that, "...any given Tuesday" line. I was hauling feed at night back then and recall telling my brother-in-law, "There's no better time to catch those big ol' bucks on their feet than 2 in the morning; and, there's no better time to pull cards than 2 in the afternoon on a Tuesday." Your "...any given Tuesday" gave me a chuckle, along with some validation.

Still to this day most people where I'm from don't want to cross water or go in the swamps but it's like my 2nd home haha

    Dan, last year I hunted 10,11 times and I swear to good lord I grunted that way heavy,loud af roars,long long rolling rumbles like that buck in video thinking tending grunts,challenge grunts just tip top tore up madly in l9ve grunts and minimal breaks until I ruins it like a filthy hobbits! Atleast 7,8 of those hunts I had returned grunts most within 70yds many within 40yds but failed to see the deer coming until I hobbitsed it up. I'm guessing they could tell no deer was there or saw movements from me on ground all instances! Very very interesting none the less and overall I failed but between thp and other calling success videos I set out to call myself one in and the line was fine but ultimately a win for the deer. Just interesting becuase I make no stretch or use no exaggeration I raised hell like a 6 yrs old as you said and got the only responses I've ever heard of in swva calling and if any top hunter heard the sequence I'm talking they'd laugh me outta town. 100% 70% + heard multiple grunts from unknown aged bucks returned close very high stem count like strip logged 4 years ago stem count

    Dan- What are your thoughts about sweating and scent while working in your hunting area preseason? Here is Texas I sweat like crazy and worry about pushing them out of an area while clearing brush. It is almost all private here in Texas, so can't just hunt them as they move.

    • @thehuntingbeast
      @thehuntingbeast  27 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      I dont think sweating really bad is much if any worse than a cooler day... If you get scent In the area, you did the damage... Any clearing, stand set ups, scouting, etc, should be done as far in advance as possible... Big bucks hang out in daylight where they feel safe and smell no danger and havent for a while...

    Dan, if i see a mature buck multiple times around public/private line in the summer, (bean field) in what summer month or time frame can i still expect to see that buck in late September around opening day?

    • @thehuntingbeast
      @thehuntingbeast  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Maybe... Studys show 2 distinct different deer personalities. about 2 out of 3 deer have one home range... 1 out of 3 relocate to 2 or more home ranges thru the year. With that said I have killed a lot of big bucks that I located in summer monthes, but often not right where I was seeing him duri g the summer... A big part of killing big bucks is knowing where one is. If thos one is not the 1 out of 3 variety, good chance you can hunt him down

    Hey Dan, I have a question. I appreciate the videos you’ve taught me a lot on the scouting and looking at where the deer bed you have awesome videos. My question to you is I know you use Spartan Forge app or u can send the tracking where you go what are you doing when you have no cell phone service are you using the Compass to go in And get back out or just take a bearing at the beginning and start walking and then look at your return bearing coming out that’s my question for you.?????? But as always, Dan awesome video.!!! .!!!!!!! And as always, I purchased the beast stand and the five climbing sticks and without a doubt, one thing for sure two things for certain in my opinion that is the best stand and climbing sticks on the market today

      Like I said, it should go hours per day, days per week- weeks per year. Going hours per day-days per week and then back to days per year doesn't follow the appropriate progression.
