Thank You Vince, for this amazing tutorial. I learned a lot on this subject. I wasn't so sure on how much to water on my young trees . On point nd see the Teacher coming out in you. Loved this lesson I even put it on my favorite library list. Thanks Guys.
I use mulch as and/or when needed. The dry season is a partial trigger to encouraging blooms. So right now my trees have no mulch. After they bloom I may mulch depending on weather. My young trees have mulch.
I stopped watering my mango trees in November for flowering. When should I start to water again? I think I heard you say begin watering when the fruit is a certain size. What is the fast rule on that?
I found this vido quite interesting. My very young "tree" that came from a very large and delicious mango, which I have grown the seed is on the window ledge with a grow light! It's truly young and about 5" tall with 7 leaves. Obviously, especially living in the Boise, ID area, I'm not starting a farm!
Great Video I learned a lot i now understand why my potted mango just fell i thought i wasn't supposed to water as much in pots fear of root damage. I'm ready this year , funny thing my 15 gallon keitt is trying to flower now, should I punch them off and continue with watering or leave it? Thank you so much waiting on the next video
Other factors like is it on a sprinkler. Does it have a good mulch ring. How much moisture the soil holds. Is it in full sun or partly shady. But some basic guidelines are moist soil does help encourage root growth but you don’t want to get it to damp for long periods of time. You can use a garden trowel and dig 3-4 inches and feel the soil. If it’s dry water it. If it’s holding moisture wait to water. Hope this helps.

Once it has fully flowed I add water until the fruit has set.

Make sure you have good draining soil.

Depends on what your goal. If it’s forever home is a pot then let it produce. If you plan on planting it I would plant it and not let it produce.
Thank you
I have 2 young trees, less than a year old. How often should I water them now that winter/dry season is here? I’m in Miami.

Add water to tree. You’re welcome.
Artisanal Figi water is the best.
