Welcome to 20 Asgard Road, a truly unique rural homestead nestled in the town of Lakeville, Maine. While it may not be the legendary Asgard, this property offers a slice of paradise that is as close to Valhalla as you can get in Maine.
This scenic property has been meticulously carved out of the Maine woods, offering you a glimpse of rustic tranquility. As you explore this 45+ acre property, you will encounter a variety of structures, including the main cabin, an unfinished second cabin, a versatile multipurpose building that could be transformed into a third cabin, a shed, workshop, barn, and more.
Lakeville Maine is a small town in the eastern part of the state. The towns population of wildlife certainly surpasses the 100+/- people living in this town. The residents here take pride in conserving their hard-earned dollars and have voted on one of the lowest tax rates in New England.
Lakeville is appropriately named as it has numerous lakes dotting the landscape. Large sprawling cold waters such as Junior Lake and Sysladobsis Lake are opposed by smaller ponds such as Bottle Lake and Upper and Lower Pug Ponds. These are the headwaters of the famous Grand Lake Stream and St. Croix River system
The main cabin, measuring 16 x 24 feet, welcomes you with its hardwood floors and a cozy interior. It boasts modern conveniences, including essential appliances, and a vintage 1912 Trolle Wood stove for warmth during the colder months. The cabin rests on concrete pads with 2 inches of foam insulation underneath the pads.
Adjacent to the main cabin, you will find a 10 x 16-foot tool shed/workshop, complete with a workbench and electricity.
A 12 x 24-foot insulated multipurpose building offers the potential to be converted into an additional cabin. And for environmentally-conscious living, there is a composting outhouse on the property.
Adding to the versatility of this homestead is an 8 x 8-foot farm stand, ready for use as a charming market or easily repurposed for other creative endeavors.
A guest cabin, measuring 16 x 16 feet, is shelled in and is ready for your personal touch and customization.
Finally, an 8X10 portable chicken coop and a 20 X 40 livestock barn complete the essential structures for this incredible homestead.
Glorious Land The land here is a nature lover's dream. Several improved areas, with an eye towards the artistic and meditative, including two forested rock gardens with monuments and carvings, forested hiking trails, and a stream side thinning. All sure to help you forget a hectic life and improve your state of mind.
The property fronts on Bottle Lake Road for approximately 650 feet, and the 45.3 acres have been surveyed and the plan recorded in the registry of deeds. The soil, a mix of Thorndike, Winnecook, Howland, Dixmont rocky & stony loams, holds great potential for cultivation once cleared of stones and rocks. The rolling terrain, ranging from approximately 360 to 460 feet above sea level, offers stunning views of Dill Ridge.
A portion of the land, 4 +/- acres, has been thoughtfully cleared of trees, stumps, and rocks and enriched using the techniques of renowned farmer Joel Salatin. The portable chicken coop is a testament to these sustainable farming practices, and the quality of the grasses is proof of its success. Fruit trees and other plantings further enhance the property's natural beauty.
Two Water Features Don't miss the opportunity to explore the two beautiful brooks on this parcel, with about 650 feet of an unnamed brook providing a serene setting and cold, trout-rearing waters. Dill Brook, a tributary to Bottle Lake, also meanders for about the same distance through the forest, adding to the property's natural charm. - บันเทิง
I feel like I'd want the owners to stay with the property as they must be just so wonderful! What a fun property.
Who's kittens? Owners? So precious!!!! Love those babies!!! Incredible dedication to the property. I'd feel bad taking the property and not having the owners around. I don't know them, but I hope they are doing well. They have done a lot and it shows tremendously. Incredible!!
...I'd call it a "rock/stone topiary style garden." Yes, I believe that's precisely what I would call it. And what a great overall property!
Wow!!! Beautiful. What an amazing property!
It really is! Thanks for the like.

Rooster at 0:32. Why are they selling Phil?
I freakin ' love this property. It's exactly what I'm looking for. ❤✌️😎
...ah huh...
@@SheriffofTH-cam I've lived through 63 winters here in MA. I look forward to the challenge. ✌️😎
I'll sell it to you for 325k.
@@philpalmer4877 I'm thinking more like $250k. ✌️😎
@Crownd1_ They'll take 250k...probably less. I'd suggest offering 200k and go from there...good luck!😎
So cool! They have the U.S. flag of Peace !
Flag of peace covering up a nice big gun safe 👍
Phil so sorry to hear about the Maine shooter.
I was with you until you said Portland was a great small city … maybe it’s changed but my wife and I went there 4 years ago on our way to Acadia and couldn’t believe how awful it was
Beautiful property! Everything you need is available. You should have charged that rooster advertising fees. 😂
Thanks for the comments.
No apparent septic system anywhere. Do you know if this was a choice of the owner, or is it all granite 12" under that grass?
There's two wells, so maybe you have room to put one in 🙂
No full septic was a choice. One can be installed.
Looks like still available!? I understand that a lot of work has been done i also understand to upkeep all that will be a lot of work, what i see is full time job, not negative just observation, i have 9 acres and its a lot of work
269K for 40 acres with buildings! makes me cry i could only dream of that price where i live.... it would mean moving away from all family and friends though..
Thanks for sharing.
MY HUSBAND AND I ARE VERY INTERESTED IN THIS PIECE OF RE.
Call 800-286-6164
You need to show the inside of the barn. Believe it or not, some of us are interested...I'd expand or do what I had to do to accommodate horses. Those fields look like hay fields to me...😊
We will have some photos in the listing later today on our website.
Wow. Just listed a couple of years too early, damn.
We hope to see you in a couple years. Thanks for watching.
Why do they always make tye homes so small on all that land lol..I live in Maine if you wanna be freezing and depressed for 6 months out of the year then go for it..me I am done I need sun all year.. it is nice though..
Thanks for watching. Give us a call we can sell your home and help you move to a warmer climate.

Wow!! And the tax!!!
Thanks for sharing
Where would I be able to find the full soil report?
The property is under contract. The soil report is on the map link on our website for this property listing.
The stacked rocks are called Cairns. They usually mark a trail. Awesome tax...I pay $8,000 per year for a modest 3 bedroom 1 bath house on a 1/3 acre. I'm wondering how the weather is there year round and are the roads driveable.
Great property...any single older men in those woods 😉
Funny, I was thinking if there were any older women around there. 🤣✌️😎
Hello. Lol. Not in the Maine woods yet but heading there soon. Still down in Florida looking at Maine for 8 months a year. 55 yr old and pretty awesome😂😂
When I was a kid the joke was that Maine had 2 seasons. Fall and winter. Lol
@madratter Make it 9 months a year and you've got a deal. 🙏🇺🇲✌️😎
@@madratter 🤣🤣🤣 I'm somewhat older than you as well. I'll be 64 in late November. ✌️😎

Hey Phil, I’ve lived up in Presque Isle when I was a kid. Love Maine and have considered moving back. This property would be perfect for my lifestyle. However, since Maine has incorporated such recent strict gun control laws, it tends to conflict with my patriotic belief system and I’ve started looking elsewhere. Wonder how many are like me with my mindset sir?
My aunt lives in penobseot county its beautiful. We are looking for undeveloped land in penobseot county to homestead
Give us a call at 800-286-6164

Is this sold?
closing soon.
We saw this property last year?!
Is that a question or a statement ? How much were they asking? Zillow time.
no you did
No you did not. The owners purchased this land from us 10 years ago and have done all the improvements you see in the video.
OMG that was 10 years ago!?

I’m curious as to why land is so cheap in Maine. In Ohio that price gets you a max of 5 acres with zero house. Anyone know?
Maine is a remote area with few employers in the northern half of the state. If you can bring a job with you, it is a good place to live.
I’d like to rent a cabin up there and deer hunt
Check this place out in Lakeville www.wildfoxcabins.com/cabins/
Ah, for those who still believe in the infallibility of AI… just popped up on my feed, because Maine is in the news!
Maybe I’m just getting old- it’s a really nice piece of property, but beyond that, all I see is Maintenance. Many scattered little buildings, landscaping, field maintenance. And you aren’t going to be strolling from building to building in the winter. Need a snowmobile. And other machines. More maintenance.
There is a lot more to homesteading than walking in the woods and reading books by a gurgling brook.
Thanks for watching.
Try 9k taxed for 50x200 lot
Lakeville is top 10 least property tax in Maine.
mangalitsa pigs! the same ones I'm raising.
Thanks for sharing.
There’s only one.
What's so bad about tumber harvesting? It's a crop, like anything else. Just do it thoughtfully & carefully & you'd have more wood than you'd ever need...
Great point Cindy.
I’d stay away from the pagan nonsense
I would add it's best to stay away from any religion, especially one that believes in human sacrifice, eating flesh, and drinking blood.
I have no doubt your own choice of nonsense is much better.😁😁
