A history of shame. These Women and Men who had fought bravely. Deserved to be treated like the heroes they were. Horrible to hear how people were treated when they came home. The United States has a dark and shameful part of its history.
The WWII generation knew about them since the Red Ball Express was key to victory in the ETO, but the public today know little about history. The Red Ball Express were FAR more valuable to the war effort (armored warfare doesn't work without fuel and food!) than the Tuskegee Airmen. If every Tuskegee aircraft were shot down it would have been a statistic. If the Red Ball Express had failed the Wehrmacht would have prolonged the war and cost hundreds of thousands of Allied casualties.

Yea and this racism was going on ever since Crispus Attucks was killed at the Boston Commons. Black Civil War soldiers were not allowed to march in the end of war parade in DC and the 9th and 10th Calvary were the ones that stopped the aggression up San Juan Hill in Cuba during the Spanish American War and NOT Theodore Roosevelt, but he took the credit. All the way down to the murders of black troops in Vietnam. It is an ongoing problem
For the first time in their lives they were treated as human beings, with respect by white people and saw how things should be. When the US MP's tried to force segregation in the town of Bamber Bridge in the UK, it was the pub landlords who put up signs saying, "black troops only", in effect telling the US that we wouldn't tolerate segregation in our own country. Those black GI veterans would be in their forties when the civil rights marches were happening and I have heard that seeing the way things should be when they were overseas, gave them hope and inspiration for their own country. I think they were incredibly brave. They went over not knowing what to expect because they were real men who did the right thing because it was necessary and not because they thought they would get something out of it..........heroes, every one of them.
Why did the US even bother to fight on the allied side, with their attitude towards African American they might as well have fought alongside the Germans. Posted from Britain.

African americans have proven to be great fighters during the american revolution and the civil war There were black officers On the side of britain during the american revolution that led white troops
The black soldiers who did fight on the front lines tho did so with dignity and honor they became elite units and all this ended in the military after ww2 unfortunately it took a bit longer in society
This should be a wake up call for all black people; and while I absolutely deplore the basic treatment that was handed down to our people, I still agree with the segregation part. Our Hebrew scriptures are clear, we are not supposed to mingle and intermarry with people outside of our race and nationality. However, this does not give others the right to be hostile or aggressive to us unless of course the situation warranted it. Hopefully, sooner rather than later, our people will come into the knowledge of who they are and why they should return to our historical and biblical teachings of our Old Testament, the scriptures that define who we are.
You're not Hebrew but a retarded bantus suffering from imposter syndrome and identity crisis latching on to someone elses culture due to you having nothing to be proud of sure they were dark but that doesn't mean it was you retard lmao , them Ethiopians ain't the same as you sub Saharans lmao
I believe the only reason why African Americans enlisted wasn't out of love, loyalty, or patriotism for American but out of hatred for Hitler and the nazis, they knew what Hitler thought of blacks. Posted from Britain.
They did it because the real black Americans of are country have been trying for 500 years to prove ourselves to these European people that were not their enemies, but to no avail because They considered us to be there mortal enemies till the end, the bible says they will have a perpetual hatred for Jacob who became the father of true Israel.

Actually, the "REAL MORAL" of the (real) story is :dispite the exclusion, indifference, ignorance, blatant racism and intimidation "we" succeeded and overcame adversity which is the American Dynamic for inclusion. "We" achieved educational excellence, political gains, and amplified virtually every aspect of American Popular Culture. My father was in WW2 and like many black GIs couldn't find work and "Re upt" for Korea in 1953. All of this without BLM,Let's blame Whitey, and giving in! WONDER HOW THEY FEEL THAT JESUS IS BLACK, lol we are the people
African americans have proven to be great fighters during the american revolution and the civil war There were black officers On the side of britain during the american revolution that led white troops
Why even put your life on the line.
The black soldiers who did fight on the front lines tho did so with dignity and honor they became elite units and all this ended in the military after ww2 unfortunately it took a bit longer in society
Democracy is hypocracy
Well, this type of racism continues until this very day, in every military setting.
Crazy ash how this went down less that 100 years ago
Another banger
War doesn’t know color
I dont get it. As a black man why going to this willingly???
They did it because the real black Americans of are country have been trying for 500 years to prove ourselves to these European people that were not their enemies, but to no avail because They considered us to be there mortal enemies till the end, the bible says they will have a perpetual hatred for Jacob who became the father of true Israel.
because they lived in the US
Some believed it would advance the civil rights movement.
I served a bit over 9 years in the desegregated US Army, but some of the veterans from the Korean War were still on active duty and I learned from many of them. Neither white or black - I never found any particular color to be superior to another
They should have moved to Canada... 🤫
Thanks for this valuble and interesting and very inspirational episode as a retired infantryman it pains me how my fellow black service members were treated back then things for telling their story peace and blessings.
DELIVERANCE: Alas. U r what u do. & yr history serves as living proof. When u learn yr true history, u shall reign great. But greater than u ever were. 4 yr history is yr prophecy. of all that is to come. so learn not afraid nor ashamed of it. stay tuned. peace&goodwill. TT".
We have lost our way because of blame and the desire to aspire to be better...
We need to stop participating in any of there wars or supporting the country.
I knew this would happen honestly 🤷🏾♀️ima not surprise i was just waiting on the stories i even asked my history teacher once how was black soldiers were treated
War is hell, you should do a video about the English people that stopped racism in the American army by helping black soldiers against racist officers. Look into the Bamber bridge riot.
Why should he? To make some white people look like saviors?
Always wanting to center whiteness. This story is centering our brave and honorable black soldiers. If you want to post about the English you mentioned do your own video.
@@chrismathis9240 I truly believe my diagnosis of those people. I call it Acute Colonizer Syndrome with an added God Complex.
