      Keep it coming, we've been left out of History to long. My job is the same way I taught some new hires of the opposite color the trade I'm in. Not long after they started ignoring me and didn't want to hear what I said. I wasn't looking for a pay on the back or anything. Now they think they know it all and I'm to stupid to realize how they've done me.

    Tuskegee Airmen played their part, but the RED BALL EXPRESS should never be forgotten. Those brothers drove supplies day and night

    • @Comm0ut
      @Comm0ut 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The WWII generation knew about them since the Red Ball Express was key to victory in the ETO, but the public today know little about history.
      The Red Ball Express were FAR more valuable to the war effort (armored warfare doesn't work without fuel and food!) than the Tuskegee Airmen.
      If every Tuskegee aircraft were shot down it would have been a statistic. If the Red Ball Express had failed the Wehrmacht would have prolonged the war and
      cost hundreds of thousands of Allied casualties.

    No mention of Dorie (Doris) Miller? Dorie was a Navy cook who manned a 50 caliber deck gun shooting at Japanese planes during the attack on Pearl Harbor though he'd never been trained to use the gun. He also carried wounded of the deck to medical care. He was the first Black sailor to be awarded the Navy Cross and was nominated for the Medal Of Honor. Secretary Of The Navy Frank Knox who believed no blacks should be on Navy ships quashed the nomination. He died in battle in 1943.

    Fully transparent here. Being a veteran myself, seeing the scene of the man in black face and thinking of the deep psychological effects of that thought process and how it still reflects today. Hit my heart like a ton of bricks. Thinking of how, for lack of better words, Fed up that was/is. To being in interracial relationships myself and feeling the underlying animosity about me dating thier daughters, not because of my character, but because of my skin and the stereotypes associated with the complexion. Can't describe the feeling other than, extremely Fed up.
    Edit; Also the fact that in high school, regardless of being a straight A honor roll student, counselors pushed me away from AP and discouraged me from college. To then being coerced into joining the armed forces and how its a highly respected honor to serve. No mention of the PTSD, promised great job opportunity when you get out. When the. Reality is, once I got home jobs actually see you(vets) as a liability, especially if you're a disabled vet. Then people don't really respect vets, every now and then you get a "thank you for your service". Which to be clear I'm incredibly grateful for, but with all the challenges that come as a consequence of service, the system has no problem sending a man of color to ruin his life. I can go on and on, it just hit a nerve and I felt it necessary to express a thought. If you read, thank you for listening. Have a happy holiday and a blessed New Years. ❤
    PS: I appreciate what this channel does, but maybe the title or description should have a Trigger Warning, just for the black Vets who watch. Thanks

      Totally agreed world war 1 also and Vietnam. I mostly feel bad for the Vietnam because they weren’t see as soldiers but killers. I feel bad for the Vietnam soldier mostly. The guilt on how he couldn’t do anything when one of his superiors heinously eliminated an innocent child.Imagine you already experienced a very gruesome traumatic event and going to only find out no matter how you explained what really happened, people will still see you as a killer which adds fuel to the pain you already experienced.Like finding help that time is the same as finding a needle in a haystack.

      Unfortunately Soviets stole 1000s of our pows, & USA abandoned them in WW1, WW2, Korean, & Vietnam wars. Surreal but true POWs books: 1) abandoned in place-Lynn O'shea. 2) An enormous crime-Bill Hendon..
      There are several documentaries-videos (see my YT-Channel's video playlist on Alied/USA intentionally sacrificed pows).
      I know, it's Like the twilight zone! Why abandon?: A) USA chief policy was 2 avoid a shooting war with USSR & Socialist, thus never directly confronted, & never when public (rather suppressed);
      B) technical knowledge. Soviets/North Korea Wanted prison labor, engineered-systems, and to (forcing r POWs at gun point to) reverse engineer our pilot's advanced planes.
      C) propaganda campaigns.
      D) $$ Embarrassment. Socialist planed to charge USA "reconstruction-aid" after war... defacto Millions per POW... E) demoralize the Armed Forces & agonized the US public by never returning all military POWS and unlucky civilians. Enraging!
      The USA does not pay for hosteges, thus 🇺🇸 buried our POWS (from 4 Wars) & evidence. LOTS of foreigners, in all the 1900s, in the Gulag, (Boris yelson admitted 1992) forsaken by their (Western) governments! Depressing and Surreal!

      Yea and this racism was going on ever since Crispus Attucks was killed at the Boston Commons. Black Civil War soldiers were not allowed to march in the end of war parade in DC and the 9th and 10th Calvary were the ones that stopped the aggression up San Juan Hill in Cuba during the Spanish American War and NOT Theodore Roosevelt, but he took the credit. All the way down to the murders of black troops in Vietnam. It is an ongoing problem

    For the first time in their lives they were treated as human beings, with respect by white people and saw how things should be. When the US MP's tried to force segregation in the town of Bamber Bridge in the UK, it was the pub landlords who put up signs saying, "black troops only", in effect telling the US that we wouldn't tolerate segregation in our own country. Those black GI veterans would be in their forties when the civil rights marches were happening and I have heard that seeing the way things should be when they were overseas, gave them hope and inspiration for their own country. I think they were incredibly brave. They went over not knowing what to expect because they were real men who did the right thing because it was necessary and not because they thought they would get something out of it..........heroes, every one of them.

    This should be a wake up call for all black people; and while I absolutely deplore the basic treatment that was handed down to our people, I still agree with the segregation part. Our Hebrew scriptures are clear, we are not supposed to mingle and intermarry with people outside of our race and nationality. However, this does not give others the right to be hostile or aggressive to us unless of course the situation warranted it. Hopefully, sooner rather than later, our people will come into the knowledge of who they are and why they should return to our historical and biblical teachings of our Old Testament, the scriptures that define who we are.

    Actually,the "REAL MORAL" of the (real) story is :dispite the exclusion,indifference, ignorance,blatant racism and intimidation "we" succeeded and overcame adversity which is the American Dynamic for inclusion. "We" achieved educational excellence,political gains,and amplified virtually every aspect of American Popular Culture. My father was in WW2 and like many black GIs couldn't find work and "Re upt" for Korea in 1953. All of this without BLM,Let's blame Whitey,and giving in! We have lost our way because of blame and the desire to aspire to be better...
