That is so frustrating with the room check in. When we went last time we stayed at Old Key West and we didn’t get checked in until 4:45…and like you we had littles as well.
We were just at port orleans riverside last week and my room wasn’t ready til 4:00! I was so annoyed. I never knew the check-in range was 3-5. Too bad check out is a firm 11am and not 11-1! Lol. 😜
We had a similar check in experience at Saratoga in January. We didn’t end up getting our room until after 5:30! I could not believe it. My kids (1 yr & 3 yrs) were troopers but it definitely made for a long day and wasn’t ideal. Very surprising compared to our normal Disney resort experience to say the least so I feel for you!
Never heard "begins" at 3:00. That sounds insane. I did have a POFQ room not be ready until 4:30 but luckily our party had multiple rooms which opened earlier.
I have had several late check ins over the last year- all after 5 pm. Each time I’ve been told the same as you that check in begins at 3 pm. I have also been told they have a shortage of mouse keeping staff which causes delays. I would have asked Ashley to hang out with her and the girls until your room was ready. But you have been very blessed in previous stays to get early check in so just chalk this one up as a not so magical disney moment ! Hopefully next trip will be better!
That’s what I have heard as well ☺️ Based on other comments, check-ins past 5pm are becoming more and more normal. And I wanted Ashley’s girls to have some chill time, and if Ellie had been in their room it would have been WILD haha.
Oh my goodness - I have been following your channel for nearly a year getting tips for our first trip to Disney and was also at Caribbean Beach until May 7th! What a coincidence - thanks for all your tips along the way and hope you enjoyed your trip!
Went to CBR this past February and we also had a rocky start for a number of reasons. I wonder if they are understaffed. Really like the resort but they have to kick it up a notch where service is concerned.
Same thing happened to us May 4th but at Pop! So stressful not having a place to land and rest up/clean up after a long travel day with a two year old. Hopefully just a fluke! 💗
I did a split stay in August. Our room at the grand wasn’t ready till 4:45 😂 and we got poured on and had dinner at 5:30 so it was crazy. Then when we transferred to Rivera and our bags got lost. Unfortunately things happen that are out of our control😅 but we still had a great trip!
Wow 5pm?! I would have been so frustrated... We have an almost 3 year old and I can only imagine how that would have gone lol! We just got back from the Boardwalk Villas and thankfully our room was ready when we got there, I was fully prepared to drop bags and wait! Here's to a smoother check-in next trip!
That’s frustrating when it takes a long time to get your room. Last time I had a trip I didn’t get my room until 6pm. It’s hard on travel day especially if you got up early for your flight. Hope you all still had a good time.
WOW! I've never heard of such a check-in experience! Honestly think Disney was in the wrong here! It's so fun that you and Ashley are getting to have another trip together, though!
Primo Piatto/Bar Riva always look so good on your vlogs and are on my list when I get back to WDW in July. Thank you for showing us the entirety of your trips, mishaps and triumphs. I have such anxiety pressing that "Show Room Number" button on some trips - so I totally know that feeling. And Happy Mother's Day!
I somehow knew about the check-in window and it was suggested to packed swim items and or park bag/items and either go to the pool or the park and leave extra items with Bell Services.
Never heard of check-in begins at 3pm and I’ve worked the front desks of hotels for 20 years. Most check ins at hotels are at 3pm or 4pm and that‘s when it means your room is ready for you to check in. It might be ready before but not guaranteed! I’ve never had a room be ready at 5pm…unless something major happened…weird!
I’m at Caribbean beach right now and I didn’t get a room until almost five as well…had got to resort by 130pm and asked for early check in…was told my biggest hold up was room manager having to inspect the room…happens unfortunately
Glad to see you are at Caribbean Beach!! I just booked it today! My hubby and I are going to Nashville this weekend for our 10yr anniversary, and I convinced him to do a 2 night, 1 day trip to WDW😂 We are going to EPCOT and I am over the moon excited!!🙌
That’s why they tell you to drop your bags and head to the parks. There have been times when our room has not been ready until after 5pm, so don’t depend on being in your room at 3pm.
Was at AOA 2 weeks ago and didnt get our room # until after 7 pm! But once we got it, we realised they had upgraded us to a Suite, so it was worth the wait in my opinion! :)
Same thing happened to us at Port Orleans Riverside back in January. When I went to the desk at 3:30p to ask for an update the lady actually laughed at me and said "That's just when check-in is, not when you get your room!" I've never heard of such a thing, and we've been going to Disney almost annually for over 20 years. We didn't receive our room text until 5:30p.
Omg the check-in fiasco is bonkers. What on earth do they mean with the “check in starts at 3 PM” - have never heard of anything like it anywhere in the world. With that logic they could get your room ready at midnight?? The check out is a set time, is it not? 🙃 I’m all riled up here haha
This happened to me at animal kingdom lodge! They ended up upgrading us to a Savannah view room which was great and our room was ready at 3:30 but we were so frustrated. No other hotel anywhere has ever told me this. The Castmember was great but this policy is very disappointing when it happens to you. We don't pay the prices we pay to have a late check in, especially for a special or upgraded resort.
@@Ididntwantayoutubehandl I’m confused that no one has heard of this. Disney resort check in is 3pm. It’s listed on their website. Checkout has always been 11 unless it’s late checkout which would be usually 12-12:30. Depending on circumstances, having a room ready can sometimes take longer. Either way, I usually just enjoy resort/park amenities until my room is ready.
@@Aaleyahjones2014 right? I’m just confused. Check in is at 3 pm and can take longer at a Disney resort because it’s just bigger with 100s of families checking out everyday. Mousekeeping has blocks they have to do of all the rooms that were checked out of. Not only that, also clean rooms people are still in. Of course it can take a while.
Haha that bucket drops every 3 minutes I think- our last trip we had to time it because my son was terrified of the downpour. We stayed at pop 2 weeks ago, our flight didn’t even land until 8pm and our room wasn’t ready until almost 9pm 🫠
Aww so bummed I missed you and Ashley! After watching both of your videos excessively I too was at Disney last week and arrived on 5/4! It was really hot 🔥 and I was wondering what both of your favorite time(s) of year is to visit. After that heat wave, would you still say early May?! 😅
Bekah, didn’t realize you flew into FL also. What car service did you use from the airport? I’ll be coming from Chicago to CBR. Need your advise on transportation from Disney Hotel to Universal Hotel.
Having to wait for ages is our normal at disney. We've never gotten the text early. Consider your track record lucky. Sorry it was Sooooo hot and Ellie missed her nap.
Glad to see we aren't the only ones to get frustrated when the room isn't ready at check-in time! Btw how did you turn Ellie's eating around? I know you mentioned before she was a picky eater, but it seems like she is branching out more. My son is driving me insane with refusing to eat anything other than cheese and bread 🤯
Expose them to new things and give the option to try if they want to, but don’t force it. I’m a big ole grownup now but when I was a kid visiting the mouse or the other theme parks, the only thing I would really eat was the fruit cups they sold in the parks and maybe a pbj, fries, or chicken nuggets if my mom insisted I had an actual proteinaceous meal 😂 Now, everything is fair game and it turns out my mom is actually the picky eater after all of that lol Edit, autocorrect typo
Just keep trying it mama. Offer it and don't put any pressure on them. If they refuse for a month, that's ok. Maybe on the 60th time they'll try it. My son just moved past a very picky eating time, he's 3.5. He's starting to try new foods again! Some he likes some he doesn't. Keep trying and don't let any pressure get into your mind either. It'll work out.
I’m sorry about the check-in disaster, but it’s good to know that it’s possible to happen! If you had other plans that night you would’ve missed them! 😮
