Just an idea about pickrate, perhaps it's not always just about the hero itself, but about the other heros. Perhaps its counters get picked more, or visa versa.
the funny thing about peeps making fun of dispersion is that it's actually _anchor smash and atrophy aura_ that are the "i guess!" part of this build
dispersion is straight-up the same type of damage reduction as bristleback and enrage - a direct reduction of damage that takes place during damage calculation - just wish a bonus effect of splashing the same percentage of the pre-reduction damage in an aoe. anchor smash and atrophy aura, meanwhile, reduce enemies' attack damage
as in, their attack damage _stat._ it isn't as though the number of their hud remains the same only for a step in damage calculation to cut into the final damage ( like, say, _bulwark_ ), they just outright have a smaller number backing their attacks. which means stuff like trample would also deal less damage, despite not being an attack. for bonus points, they don't even affect the entirety of a unit's attack damage; they're basically just negative bonus damage ala static link, except they're based off of a percentage of the unit's non-bonus damage. so, they don't affect so much as the damage of a blades of attack
so, yeah. they may be labeled similarly, because ... i mean, as far as the players are concerned, they _are_ reducing damage at the end of the day, but they are still functionally different on a technical level that only really matters if you dig through the game's guts
The change regarding Gyro might be cause of hero synergy. He might not work with the meta heroes of the patch.
Baumi, you should get an interview with (ice frog) the people who does the balancing and creation of the abilities for your hero videos.

I think you should try magic resistance redaction: ice vortex, decripify, natural order, ancient seal, solar bind, poision atack and build dagon.
As someone who has been playing the pokemon tcg for ~25 years, the problem with its power-creep is that it's not evenly distributed across all the cards that get released, some are just flat-out MUCH better than others to the point where they aren't even really viable in any sense of the word. Thus, my problem with it is that they never print a ridiculously powerful version of any of my favorite pokemon, but ugly pokemon like Garbodor (literal garbage) get a several broken cards.

Check pairings with gyro.(allies and counters) Probably that might give a clue.
maybe some indirect stuff?
It can be dependent on the meta of heroes being played, some other heroes being buffed or just items making other heroes being able to deal with gyro better?
Another Gyro guess:
As far as I remember, TI4 was about snowballing, so maybe he was too weak on laning to pick him?
Another clue: Razor was one of most picked+banned heroes and he's quite effective vs Gyro

i think there was some change to flack, not really shure.
while the Pokemon TCG power creep does have good things about it, a good chunk of people dislike how high powered the "rule box" Pokemon (multiple prize card) can get, and that non-"rule box" decks are a lot more interesting to play

Hi Baumi, have you consider meta changes, it could explain why some heroes are pick in a ta and they are not in the next one.
Next time go with "Space" concept on agility(damage) hero might he hard but op
