About 9.00 - No. 80 hit's her horse down the side of its mid-section WHILE IT'S IN THE AIR over the lead-up log jump - and then the horse & rider lose it at the water... I wonder why...
I think this water complex would be very difficult for my horse, as he's quite strong, yet dislikes water. Since this looks like a fairly tight 6 stride from the log to the drop into the water, it would be a fine balance of aids for me to hold and compress his stride for the 6, yet use a lot of leg to encourage him at the water/when he sees the water. I'm wondering if the riders who had the most difficulty here have horses like mine, as it appeared to me as if they tried to get 5 strides from the log to the drop into the water, and it just didn't work out (the horses backed off when they saw the water and came up short).
