    Would love to hear more in-depth from Renaud, especially regarding right-hand technique, playing with minimal effort, and improvisation; he's been quite the role model for me ever since I picked up the upright. Thank you for these videos!

      He’s an incredible bassist! This series is just a selection of the world’s best players and there are others like Odon Racz who we would love to feature in future.

      @@DiscoverDoubleBass Ödön Racz has 2 CDs with Deutsche Grammophon. Why isn't he here? Ludwig Streicher celebrates 100 Birthday this year. Ödön Racz is 2. Generation Ludwig Streicher.

    What do you think the purpose of the Karr exercise is? Avoiding accidental double stops? Or is it just his way of getting a good tone from the string?

      String crossing exercises can really help you to play faster, more accurately and with a cleaner sound.

      For me it's the bow stroke You make for a fast change from D to G and D to A.

    Do you recommend any affordable, bass strings?

      That's a tough one as they are all quite expensive. The most popular makers are Thomastik, D'Addario, Pirastro, so I would search for those and see if you can find any deals online. Good luck with your bass playing.
