I absolutely love this series!!! Great job! I remember the tv newscast with Jeff at the beginning of the pandemic.. I’ve been committed since. Thanks for all of your work!
Thanks David for the video and your masterclass. It solved many years of struggle for me and I very much wish I would have found it sooner. It’s been essential for me in finding a better approach to the bow.
The Bach was phrased around his shifts rather than the musical line…something I have found to be very common when listening to double bassists play Bach..
Always love his videos....thats why I bought his German Bow course from years ago. ***Is that one of those Bernard Walke Bows that David is playing? Interesting that he has some kind of black rubber wrap type thing just off the screw part - above frog. Wonder if that eases some pressure on the hand. Never seen that.

That's awesome. Thanks for sticking with us! :-)
I've always wanted to try playing German-style; I appreciate the lesson.

Fabulous lesson ( as always ) such an eloquent information view of German Bow. I'm a newcomer so its really great.

I disagree. I think David phrases the line first and picks fingerings and shift patterns that work for the musical line as he imagines it.
@@stewartrosen4218 convincing argument 👍🏻
Unfortunately many cellists also adopt a wrong phrasing because of technical matters... but not only.
very very good!!!👍👍 thank so much! Cheers.
Great, thanks!
Very interesting

I am 95% sure that is a bow by Jordan Scapinello.
Thanks. That was great. Does anyone have any ideas for simple bow excercises for jazz guys?
