Just got back out to west Texas myself for sand, water slowed a bit but sand is moving pretty steady. Are you considering coming back just curious? And it is wild the difference between lease road trucks and otr ones lol
No, I won’t be back. Even if the work is steady the rates are so low now it’s insulting. And yeah, the lease roads are just one thing that companies don’t realize the sacrifices and wear and tear on a truck AND a human being. That was the whole reason the pay was so high, but not anymore.
I feel for YOU! I just left the oilfields...lol. luckily with this job the trailer is loaded already, then i just swing by the same other place and pick up a little bit then do relay all the rest of the time. It's cake. Never deal with shippers and receivers.
Because the rates for hauling sand kept getting lower and lower, companies that hired the frac sand haulers were becoming more and more scandalous, dispatchers were egoistical and played favorites (at all companies), work was slowing down because of price of oil dropping, and last but not least it was taking a toll on my health (skin and hair believe it or not). I got tired of being dirty all the time and never being home. When the money opportunities fell off, it wasn’t worth it to me anymore. I also didn’t want to be out there when COVID first started.
I don't blame you, as long as I'm making what im supposed to I'll put up with the negatives of the oilfields for little while at least. Orientation this Wednesday..How often are you home with your new job?
TBH ur probably not gonna be making what ur supposed to. They will find all kinds of ways to have u sitting in line at the well or sitting in line at the loader and not pay u a dime of demurrage, etc etc...If ur with Amerifield, you’ll be lucky to get ur paycheck at all. Join the Facebook page Sand Haulers of America, you will be enlightened very fast. They are using, abusing and disrespecting truckers so bad now it is deplorable. I refuse to be a part of it any longer. The glory days are over.

Yes some but I always enjoy driving any nice truck. Some are sticks some are automatics. We always drive a different truck each night.
