- Returning to the cabin after spending a few months down south, I find there's a LOT of cleanup to do. But my first priority is to salvage some of the downed trees before it's too late. I set up my own milling operation to turn those trees into something useful.

NOTE FROM SLIM: I am taking a break for the month of May, stepping away from the camera to catch up on a host of things that need attention. In the meantime, please check your subscription status, as a lot of people have commented they are not getting notices of new videos. Any updates will be posted on my blog: www.slimpotatohead.com/blog-1
Enjoy the spring everyone!
Gonna miss you!!!!!!
I don't subscribe to many TH-camrs, but the few that I do and actually watch are all saying their viewership is down. Not sure sure what is happening. I think there was a boost during Covid when people had more time, and now people have less time? Or there are just so many TH-camrs now, folks get spread thin on the the content they watch. Whatever the case, you are still one of enjoyable channels I watch. I'll be ready in a few weeks to see your new challengers and adventures.
Love your videos both camping and cabin updates.
Everyone needs a break from time to time
Enjoy the brake
Enjoy your brake. Your channel is one of my favorites. I like the variety of travel, camping and watching your cabin renovations.
I've never missed a Slim video.
He's a great storyteller and good with the camera.
Calming , relaxing and much less expensive than therapy 😅
I’d say VERY good camerawork!
I am not tired of any of your camping videos, but a cabin update is also wonderful. Thank you very much for the new content, and have a good day.
No one’s tired of your videos. I never miss one. I’m guessing it’s because of TH-cam’s recommendations.
I agree!
I agree - not tired
Definitely not tired.
Absolutely, I wish he would release videos more frequently.
I came on here to say this. The last 2-3 videos I had to go searching for. They weren't popping up in my feed even though I've subscribed. Shadiversity just had a video a few days ago about his audience disappearing but that it didn't match the data.
I have commented several times over the years on how resourceful Slim is and again he demonstrates his amazing talents. As a lifetime do-it your-selfer and someone that has cut 3 chord a year for 48 years, all split by hand, I offer my nod of approval. You go Slim.
We're absolutely not tired of your videoes. It's the way TH-cam directs us by whatever other video we watch gets piled onto our viewing list.
I second that.
That’s why we subscribe, right?😃
@@chrissythrower1643 I'm finding that a lot of accounts that I'm subbed to still seem to get buired in my subscriptions page. It's been that way for a while. Some even are not showing on my subscription page at all, and yes I've double checked that I am subbed.
I thought your last Navajo video was very professional and amazing
If you are a subscriber and have notifications turned on... you won't miss an episode of any TH-camr you follow 😊
I just had to officially add my name to those who love all your videos, though i must admit that the past few weeks our life was a bit hectic and we didnt tune as frequently. I am happy to report we are cheerfully caught up. I cannot imagine life without Slim.
Slim, in no way are we tired of your videos! I have 2 Stihl saws, one gas and one electric for the smaller jobs
After hearing you say on your last video that viewers might be getting tired of your camping videos, I had to let you know that we LOVE all of your beautiful camping videos! However, I see that about a thousand other people already beat me to it.
Please don't stop. I look forward to both your travel and cabin video's. You are my Favorite You Tube channel . Great content , very professional nature videograpphy and you are never selling anything.
Please take my advice Slim: don't change your schedule just because TH-cam popularity is declining. What we all want to see is someone loving life and aiming to achieve happiness in it. Please fell free to do whatever you want and we'll join naturally.
And none of us believe for a minute that your popularity could be declining!
this man could Macgyver anything out of a hardware store
I never get tired of your videos, whether they are travel or the cabin. When I first started watching, your videos were all on travel, but I've really enjoyed pretty much everything you do and appreciate the time and effort that you invest in your channel. Loved your winter/spring travels, particularly in the Southwest.
I do not know why the viewings of your camping trips went down. They were ABSOLUTLY AWESOME! Actually tuned in to see more. You are a great videographer ,and love your narratives. Glad you made it home safely.
TH-cam is not putting your videos up. They actually unsubscribe me from your channel and several others. It’s not us not wanting to watch it’s TH-cam. We love watching your videos.
In France we are definitely not tired of your videos. Looking forward to every single episode
I've been looking forward for the cabin series to restart! Welcome home.
SAME!!!
Meet tooo!
I enjoy your breaks away and house renovations so please keep them both up. I must admit the renovations I do enjoy the most but I also watch the trips away as well. You strike the balance perfectly in my eyes between making the videos fun and exciting without making them too long and boring
So Do I. I started with Slim out and aboot and although I'm not much interested in DYI home restoration, I've been supporting him with every video he makes. It's a shame that he's seen a decline in viewership with his travels. But it's somewhat of a job and more viewers = more ad revenue. I don't blame him a Bit.
Hi Slim. My wife and I loved the last videos down south. Keep it up. We're not bored with them.😮
I agree with the rest of your viewers, we absolutely are not tired of seeing your videos, don’t work too hard. Enjoy your cabin even though it’s a lot of work right now. Thank you for sharing your time with us.
I appreciate both the travels and the Cabin. Take the time for you to refresh and rejuvenate your creativity. I didn't get your notifications and finally got the time to look you up. Glad you're well.
I never get tired of your travel videos. I hope you will show them anyhow. Enjoy your cabin ones also.
I am certainly not tired of your videos Slim! I watch every video usually the day it’s posted. Also I don’t wait for TH-cam to recommend your video I check your channel to see if you have posted.
Stay safe and keep up the good work as this helps my mental health
Just another comment to assure you I want as many camping and cabin videos you can put out! I never miss one.
I watch because of your camping videos. Please don't stop making them!
Absolutely not tired of any of your videos, in fact I loved your last one, it was one of my favourites!
Agreed, please do release them Slim.
Re your travel videos: I like those the best. the cabin ones are OK, but traveling Slim is the Slim I started with and the Slim that brings a smile to my face. I am sure I am not the only one that feels this way.
Definitely not tired of your travel videos, they are the high point of my week, in the summer its the cabin building time and I learn so much with your amazing projects,
I’m with everyone else! I’m not tired of your camping videos! I love them, but we religiously watch every video you release, whatever it’s about.
Oooh, Slim can't wait for more cabin vds--variety matters and yours channel has it and plenty of creativity. Thank you for your generosity. Can't-feet-stomping wait!
Definitely never get tired of any of your videos. Excellent videography, new skills, beautiful scenery, wildlife, a cool cabin, and great humor!! How neat is making your own boards!! Live how you have always reused/recycled things. 🙂👍👍
Im not tired of the videos, I'll admit I'm not a desert fan. Its just so brown and blah, love the green and forest, lakes etc....
I always learn so much from your videos, Slim. I can't imagine anyone getting tired of your camping adventures, but whatever you put out, it's always worth watching. Thanks for sharing your life with all of us!
PLEASE! We LOVE your travel videos! Don’t leave us hanging… we want to see the adventures!!
I think TH-cam is changing things around. I have seen where other youtubers are saying the same thing . Please continue with your videos they truly inspirational. Yours are my favorite videos to watch.
Great video Slim. Your ingenuity and persistant hard work never ceases to amaze me.
Wow, you are home already. I was expecting more sight seeing stops on your way back home. I love traveling with you while anticipating the next adventure. Thanks for taking us along. You are a great tour guide.
I never tire of watching your content, no matter what or wherever it is from.
Just keep on keeping on Slim, im here for the long term.
David in the UK.
My husband and I made boards out of VERY long tulip poplars with an Alaska fixture. I can't say that I enjoyed being up close to that big chainsaw for such a long time!
I look forward to every one of your videos, no matter the content. Of course, as a camper, I love the videos about camping. However, I enjoy your cabin videos as well. Your demeanor is what caught my attention early on, and you just have a very pleasant disposition. Please keep up the videos, no matter what you are doing. You always make them entertaining, interesting, and with bits of wisdom and knowledge. Thank you very much. A camper in Georgia!
Slim I watch all your videos, but I really like it when you do your cabin restoration.
Please don't stop how you do your videos. Idk what the TH-cam guys are doing, but we love your adventures and cabin . Nice job on the logging.😂❤
I watch all the videos that you produce, but the cabin DIY videos are by far my favorite!!!
That was genius. I never seen anyone mill their own lumber before. Good job!
As always, your videos are wonderful. Whether you are camping in the U.S. or Canada, or you are working at the cabin I always watch. Never get tired of the beautiful scenery or the information on the cabin. Keep it up!
I've been enjoying your adventures and projects for years. Glad you made it back safe. 🕊☮🕊
Slim, you are SO talented! I never tire of your videos and look forward to each one.
I’ve never missed a Slim video. God bless from Norway🇺🇸🇳🇴
Not tired by your videos at all it’s always a good day when there is a new slim video 👍🏻👍🏻God bless brother
Hi Slim, I am one of many people who enjoyed the beautiful scenery shots you took in your last video.
I really admire your resourcefulness, Slim. You always inspire me to try new things. BTW, I enjoyed all your travels in the States!
TH-cam not doing there job of letting people know when new videos uploaded. Slim, keep it up love the adventures!
One important component....the SMELL!!!! LOVE IT!
I think that your travel videos are great and you know a fair bit about photography (videography???). I enjoyed my trips to Washington State, Oregon, California, Nevada, Louisiana, Texas Alabama and the Atlantic states with my late wife. I saw many places in your videos that I remember, however I can see why the "viewership" dropped off a bit. Your videos where you are devising, creating and utilizing creative (Macgyvering?) solutions to problems truly speaks to the hearts of your subscribers. This is where the genuine "Slim Potatohead" truly shines (with successes and not so great ideas included). Certainly continue to roll on as long as you can and capture it all. Leaven that with a good helping of your "now how am I going to handle this job (on a budget)" and you will do just fine.
I do not tire of your videos. I am in Australia and always wanted to see more of the States and never got to Canada though I was booked to go twice. Your videos give me the opportunity to see what I missed. I hope you do not give up on sharing your travels. I also do enjoy your cabin updates.
Not tired of your videos, I really enjoy them and look forward to them
I wouldn't dream of missing one of your videos, camping or not. I believe most of your subscribers would agree.
Never tired of your videos Slim, just outside more working in the garden this time of year. I do keep up with where you are and since I am rebuilding an old log cabin here in Oregon I lean towards watching your cabin videos more. 😊
Love the travel ones but also enjoy your pottering busy home ones. Seeing the world through others eyes is a gift.. thank you. Hugs from nz
I LOVE your videos!! Don’t get discouraged, please don’t let downers get to you! Keep 'em coming!
I love your camping videos!! Will never get tired of them. Your cabin videos are fun too. They all inspire me.
I can’t believe your views are down! I absolutely LOVE watching your travels, and I watch each at least twice. Your film making, editing, and adding voiceovers is second to none, simply amazing! Truthfully, I would watch you cut up trees or scoop sawdust. Uh, wait a sec…😂Hate I missed you when you were in Tennessee!❤TN Nana
As of this writing, your last camping video had about 57K viewers. SOME OF US still like the camping stories! I'm sure the numbers will continue to climb! However, the cabin videos are also totally awesome. So don't despair. 😊
Whatever videos you make, I will be watching them. It's amazing what a great job you do on your editing.
I never got tired of your travel camping videos.
Not tired of your videos. I think with the change in season, people are getting out more and watching less TH-cam. I hope you post more of those travel videos. This was an awesome series!
Slim, you have such a good disposition and good natured. That only makes me enjoy all your videos what ever you put on TH-cam!😁
I was really enjoying your desert camping series in the Southwest and beyond. I hope you will continue it.
I never get tired of our camping videos. I am itching to get back on the road myself before Texas heats up this summer.
I agree, Brian. Once the heat hits Texas, it's a little less enjoyable. I camped my way through last summer, but I admit, retreated to hotels once in a while, too.
@@Janer-52 I've lived in Texas for awhile and know it can get hot, but you can go north or go up in elevation to.
@@Janer-52 I moved to Missouri where it doesn't get as hot or cold. I was there in Texas and experienced one year where it got so cold that we had icy snow for a week. Had to heat the engine with a light bulb.
I certainly am NOT TIRED of your camping videos. You go such interesting places!
I personally prefer your “how I did it” videos with the occasional scenic hiking video. It’s a balance. We like learning from you how to do things. I started with watching your Aliner videos and you encouraged me to buy one.
I don't know how anyone could get tired of your videos. I was fascinated by how you milled the lumber. I'm looking forward to your next one. I've been watching for a few years. Take care.
Definitely not tired of your travel video and always looking forward to them. You really know how to highlight the beauty of this beautiful places. But we love your cabin videos too so we’ll be there waiting for the next video whatever it is
Handling the logs alone looks like a LOT OF WORK! Slim is always amazing. My family has been in construction much of my adult life, so I view his efforts with a practiced eye.
Been missing your videos and glad to see you shared an update. I hope you feel better soon.
Not sick, just busy!
Your videos are never boring. I always hit the Like button right away so I don’t forget. Have a great summer season whatever you’re doing.
You're doing a great job. Don't give up on us
Welcome home Slim. You're videos are always interesting. Especially here in the UK, I am envious of all the places you can travel to in North America.
I never miss any of your videos, enjoy every one. My wife and I have enjoyed camping for over 50 years.
We also have enjoyed watching what you are doing with the cabin remodeling..
Love the cabin series. Can’t wait to see what you have planned.
I'm tired....but not of your videos...Just of waking up tired! Always learn something new from Slim.
I have watched most of your travel videos and one with the California Conor was terrific. Now you are cleaning up and using your cedar tree demise for multiple uses, love it.
Your last video was superb, one of my faves, and I've been watching since your A-frame days. Folks are just working two jobs now to make ends meet, plus it's spring. Low view count has nothing at all to do with you. Bidenomics. Keep on keeping on, Slim! 🤩
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can you post some more content from your recent trip away? I definitely prefer your travelling videos Slim. I will never tire of watching you. You are so relaxing to watch 😊
The holdup is not content, it's editing. I need to get a good start on the cabin as the season is short, and editing takes too many hours. I am also trying to learn a new editing software which makes it even harder. See my last blog post: www.slimpotatohead.com/post/spring-break
Thanks! SP
Nooooooo! I'm not tired of the camping videos. There are a gazillion people telling us about their cabins especially with homesteaders with gardens, livestock, etc. But there aren't very many that show us the way-out-of-the-way places to camp for extended periods of time. And, maybe not too popular with others but, I love the desert!
Slim I look forward to your camping 🏕 adventures, your one of the handful of genuine camping channels I enjoy watching, thanks for all you do👍
I am not tired, as I watched every one! I was waiting for your Eclipse capture! I checked out the one from years ago, and you mentioned you wanted to witness 2024!
Today's video and instructions of milling was awesome even for an old lady! Very interesting! Thanks Slim!
Tired of Slim? Never! You're one of my favorite content creators of all time.!!! Love your travel videos, but love your cabin videos just as much! By the way, greetings from hot humid, Florida lol
I worked in a lumber mill (50 years ago) in Northern California; they packed up all the equipment when they sold to Georgia Pacific and shipped it down there. We milled redwood and it smelled wonderful, they made lawn furniture and construction lumber and burned the sawdust 24/7. Very interesting video Slim, thanks.
Slim, we always watch your videos. Your channel is one we watch all the way through, every video. Travel, cabin, whatever!
I really enjoy your cabin videos. Nice to see renovations where the budget isn’t in the 100,000s
Slim your do-it-yourself skills are amazing!!! I enjoy all of your videos...keep 'em coming.
So excited you’re back at the cabin. As much as I like your travels, I personally love your creativity at the cabin, watching the place come alive. You’re such a talented man Slim. Keep up the great work. Thanks
You have an amazing way of making anything possible . Building your cabin, fixing the camper or even fixing your truck. If you don't have the tool or equipment no problem you can make something to do the job. Thanks for sharing another great project.
Absolutely love your videos on traveling. I also wish I had the ability to think outside the box, like you do. (Using a ladder for a rail, as an example). You keep it up an Thank you for the inspiration.
I enjoy all your vids! The last several ones especially! The views were amazing! I've never been to the south west before, so I really found them interesting. And please don't let the numbers dictate otherwise. You just keep putting them out. Bless you Slim! 💕
Pretty remarkable that you figured out how to do this. But the thing that REALLY surprises both my husband and me is that viewership fell off for your last videos. We loved them all. Your recent video, Navajo Monumental, was staggeringly beautiful. People are really missing out! Keep being you! ❤ 🎥 ❤
Pretty sure I watched it twice.
Ohmygoodness! I kept watching for new vid. Couldn't find it, so i watched some from 5 years ago that i missed.
Video looks good.
Good to see a new video Slim. Your videos have become a tradition at my home. When we see a new video from you, we cook dinner and gather around the TV to see the newest Slim Potatohead adventure! Whether you are at the cabin, in the camper, on a ferry, hiking a trail, in the Abner or the Egg, we are, and have been watching. Safe travels, and projects from NC.
