- Bruce Reid invited me to race his classic Dragon sailboat in Vancouver English Bay. This classic sailboat is a one-design keelboat designed by Norwegian Johan Anker in 1929. In 1948 the Dragon became an Olympic Class, a status it retained until the Munich Olympics in 1972. The Dragon's long keel and elegant metre-boat lines are graceful, with lots of lines for 3 crew to control.
Foredeck is small and without lifelines but the boats aren't designed for open ocean. English Bay in Vancouver is perfect and the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club provided an excellent venue for this two day regatta in May 2022.
shot on a new 4K video camera that - when mounted in the intended way - emphasizes my schnoze but lots of fun to replay and watch.
Mooi oud ontwerp, voor wedstrijd of cruising.al die trimgekte moet je weglaten, lekker op de noordzee gaan met de wind en tij❤
Not sure what that means, but class old Dragons are a ball to race.
Wrong jib lead on day one not helpful. Fixed on second day. After 8 races Peter, Dale, and I finished 2nd of 4 Dragons.
