Great explanation. I've heard the simple explanation of "it's smoother" or "it's more rough" before, but I super appreciate all the detailed shots here. Super duper helpful!!
Your channel is very well made, the videos are professionally edited with a clear and concise script. I'm really surprised how under rated it is. You clearly put many hours of work into each video. I wish you all the best for the future, you are going to be huge one day!
Thankyou! That’s very kind of you. Ahh that’s TH-cam isn’t it? You try very hard and some times it becomes popular and sometimes it doesn’t 🤷♀️. Hopefully you enjoy the videos I have coming up ☺️
I don’t know why but I seem to have an aversion to the texture of the cold press paper, yet it obviously is the right choice for what I’m doing. How can I get over this?? A beginner here, of course! 😅
@@StuffBySunshine I shall have a think, will also have to tune in to twitch, it always seems to be when I’m heading to work that I get the notification 😂😅 dammitfrankie will be there… hopefully 😅
@@StuffBySunshine maybe different brands of watercolour paper or mixed media paper that would be in your opinion, suitable for say beginners, aspiring and professional artists?
I always wondered what the difference is between Hot Press Paper and Cold Press Paper! I’m learning a lot about Hot Press Paper and Cold Press Paper! Also I own a Monte Marte Watercolour Book and it turns out that book has cold press papers. I was wondering why these papers have a rough texture. Then when you mentioned I came to realise that It was a cold press paper.
I was so excited I replied twice 😂. If you don’t ah e an art shop need you, you can usually get hot and cold press from officeworks or spotlight (weirdly)
One thing that’s cool about watercolor paper is that they tend to be some of the highest quality papers for art in general. 😺 Lots of artists use 100% cotton hot press watercolor paper for colored pencil, graphite, charcoal, ink etc. Those are usually very high quality and archival! 😺😺
Very true! And water and paint I’m finding handles very differently depending upon the brand name and cotton count of the paper. So easy to run down the paper rabbit hole!

No worries! Glad you found it helpful ☺️💜

Well aren’t you just a sweet potato! Thank you very much my friend. TH-cam can be tough but lovely comments of encouragement like yours make my day! 😊
Would love more water colours videos! and tips/tutorials
Haha I’m not sure if I’m good enough with them yet! I’ll consider it in the future though ☺️
This was the most thorough video I've ever seen on this topic and I've learnt much more than I thought I would, damn! Thank you so much Sunshine
Thankyou! I always wonder if I put to much detail in my videos so it’s great to hear people enjoy them ☺️💜
@@StuffBySunshine No, please continue! It would've taken me weeks of playing around and wondering whether it's because of me or the paper 😅
Sunshineee it’s so well made! So professional. A very calming and educational video. I could see this appearing on tv
Thanks noodles! Maybe one day 😋

To be honest I don’t think you can unfortunately! If it’s the texture maybe try gloves? 🧤 sorry I don’t have any more advice
Great explanation Sunshine, you have made it easy to understand the difference .
Thankyou Faye! Glad your enjoying the videos ☺️💜
I’m glad you found it easy to understand! I just wanted to make a video that helps people make good paper choices! 🙂
Love the paper review, a variety of art medium reviews would be great to see, if you want to that is 😊
Sure! I’m working through pencils and paint at the moment but if you have any other suggestions please make them ☺️💜

Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it. Do you know which she prefers?
@@StuffBySunshine she prefers cold press last I knew. She creates such beautiful pieces with it!
