Man Fortissax is such an underrated boss, and I do get why, you’ll meet him when you’re far into the game & over-leveled, but the fight is actually unique, did I mention the absolute banger OST & the arena? Perfect video there!
Thanks! True, also lots of ppl tend to go for his legs which can make the fight pretty stressful On my first playthrough his OST was stuck in phase 1 for the entire fight and I still thought it was pretty epic. When I came back in NG+ and the whole thing played I was blown away. Certified masterpiece
If only he didn't have just the standard ancient dragon moveset, sound design and only a couple of unique attacks. The ost and arena can just carry him so far...
@@Veloketh to me, if you’re gonna make a death dragon he should definitely have more than 3 unique moves, honestly the part that’s the worst is that regular ancient dragons can do moves that he can’t, it’s like if a wyvern in ds3 could use midir’s laser
@@BayleGlazer-b1n the death aspect should definitely be more emphasized. I need a death laser from him lmao. Also beef up his health and make him a Midir type fight. They kind of had the perfect set up to have fortissax move closer to the ground since deathblight seems to attack legs/limbs like with rogier
@@Veloketh I can’t tell if you’re being serious about the death laser or not lol but death laser sounds pretty cool… ANYWAY the whole deathblight attacking limbs thing even on its own could be used incredibly, if he started releasing deathblight from his body in phase 2 then began walking lower to the ground/struggling during some attacks it could’ve made him a much more impactful boss as he fights with everything to protect godwyn despite his circumstance
I really wish he wasn't ancient dragon fight. I enjoy fortissax more than placidusax but fromsoft really dropped with this one. He has the arena, OST, design and the cinematic attacks to be one of the best dragon bosses ever made. But he's just a reskin with some extra attacks and that has always made me sad.
Imagine they gave his design some elements of Godwyn‘s body/deathblight like fins or membranes between his claws, like a seasnake dragon. It’s also frustrating that hitting his head is so obnoxious with a melee build, I feel like they could’ve easily fixed it by making his head stay on the ground longer and giving him more health in return. It’s my favorite OST in all fromsoft games and the godwyn death dragon concept is really cool, so the potential for the best dragon boss was definitely there. Pretty sad indeed
@@Veloketh you're totally right! The thing I love about midir and bayle is that their heads stay low after attacks just so you can hit them. So for melee builds it is hard to hit fortissaxs head. But you demonstrated how well the bolt of gransax does here 😂. Who knows, if we ever do get a second dlc focused around Godwyn maybe we will get a different form of fortissax?
@@Kaleb._ yeah there’s nothing quite like fighting a dragon head on in a souls game. The bolt of granssax made the fight really enjoyable, it’s s definitely a better experience with ranged weapons! Man, a Godwyn dlc would be my dream come true. It would certainly be awesome to have a proper death dragon fight, be it a new fortissax or a brand new dragon. Since Death and Deathblight are associated with the sea it would make for some really interesting boss and area designs
@@Veloketh I'm about to fight fortissax on my current playthrough so I'm going to fight it with the bolt of gransax just like this! I'm excited to see how different it makes the fight feel. Also sorry to keep adding on but I did not know that deathblight was associated with the sea. It makes way more sense why godwyn has those fish scales and that weird tail shape. I really REALLY hope that we do get a second DLC to this game. Even though they said they don't have one planned they always could be lying to make it a surprise 🤷♂️
@@Kaleb._ oh sick, hope ur having a great fight with it! Yeah there seems to be a connection between death and the sea, that’s why there’s tibia mariners and the huge stone coffins in the dlc look like ships etc (at least I think so, I’m not the biggest lore guy) plus the godwyn stuff Yeah it would be really sad if we would never get any new additions to this amazing world with all these characters and unanswered questions. I’ll continue dreaming of a second dlc, although sadly I think it’s pretty unlikely

@@Veloketh For real! 😳
Most heavy metal souls boss ever (bayle still clears tho ofc)
If only he didn't have just the standard ancient dragon moveset, sound design and only a couple of unique attacks.

This is why I absolutely LOVE fortissax’s fight! It’s truly amazing! One of my favorites!
Same! His lightning attacks and OST always give me chills
One of the best ost in the game❤
Definitely my personal favorite followed by mohg
Fortisaxx gives me Godzilla Minus One vibes
makes me wanna see fortissax actually walk around on 2 feet and destroy sth
0:13 once got killed because of this
same got stuck in the thing and deathblight took me
Man I wish they gave him a more unique moveset, he’s inches from being a peak boss
he still stands out from other ancient dragons imo but more unique moves wouldn’t hurt ofc. I wish he had some actual combos like bayle

I bet Godwyn and Fortissax would make an amazing How to Train your Dragon copycat.
Nice fight
thanks!

how did you disable hud??
Go into system (in game) then go to sound and display and toggle HUD off
