Also wanted to share transparently that this video is NOT sponsored in order to ensure the community that I'm sharing honest thoughts for all of these platforms. I imagine this won't be sustainable long-term, so I will transparently share if I ever choose to sponsor a video in the future. But in any case, I will always share technologies and tools that I believe can genuinely serve language learners in a positive way. Hope you all have a great weekend 🏖
Hey Jerry, we're launching our VR Japanese program soon to go alongside our Spanish and English. It uses immersive media with authentic interactions with real people in lessons, conversations, and cultural trips. Fancy going from zero Japanese to confident conversations in just 4 months? Reach out and come explore with us.
@@dynamiclanguages Is Facebook really the only choice for using Immerse? How about those of us with PC VR or PSVR? I love the idea of Immerse and think this is a real lost opportunity.
This sort of disclaimer is literally the first thing I checked for so I could see how to interpret the video, cheers for the clear indication of this video being an unsponsored honest review
Jerry, your videos are outstanding, and I've been enjoying catching up with some of your older videos. Thanks for this... I have a VR headset and am learning Spanish and I definitely want to try this. Thanks for a great video. On a different note, regarding your ChatGPT video, you mentioned "ChatGPT 2.0" but I see ChatGPT 4.0 as my laptop's version. Are you possibly referring to an app version of ChatGPT? If so, which one is the one you used in that video?
Thanks a million! Happy to help if you run into trouble with Immerse. For ChatGPT 2.0, I was doing a play-on-words to refer to the updates as the “new and improved ChatGPT” rather than signaling the GPT model version (which is 4.0), but I think this ended up being more confusing than I foresaw. So I’ll likely tweak the title to take out the 2.0 mention -you should be good if you’re using the latest version on the 4.0 GPT model 🙌🏽
Hello! So I`m curious to know if you have tried the new version of this app. What is your honest opinion of the updated version and has the app, and community changed since you last reviewed it? 🤔 Is the app something that you would currently recommend above other language learning apps? Where would you rate it now?
Jerry, Thanks for yet another outstanding video highlighting another way to learn a language. I hope you will continue to show us the widest possible variety of approaches and products since each learner can now find a way that works for them. The thing that struck me was how closely this resembled the hopes I had for "Second Life" (if anyone remembers that). Thanks again and keep up the great work.
Many thanks, Tom 🙏🏽 I was fighting through a work backlog, but I finally found the time to pull this video together. There are a few more novel tools I want to share with the community that I’m finishing research on now. More to share soon. Sending my best regards to you and the group 👋🏽
Thank for your effort . I’m still figure out whitch I’ll pic language lab vs immerse vs noun town all video are saying all are great to learn . What your opinion ?
I’m working on a video right now to compare those 3 along with a few other VR apps. Give me a few days to finish up all the research and testing, and I should have that video up soon 🙌🏽

Will people learn a foreign language and foreign culture in future mostly in ai era?? I mean will there be any scope for people trying to build a career in these fields?? What wil be the future of language teaching and learning?? please kindly reply..
We talk about this a lot, in fact our Head of Education gave a talk on this recently at a conference. The TL:DR is that AI will be another tool to learn languages, but language is about human connection and humans will always be front and center of language and learning.
@@JerryRegistre No! Sorry, I was being snarky. It's a small yellow fish that you insert into your ear that instantly translates any language into your own. It comes from the Sci-Fi book "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy."
I tried the free trial and canceled after less than a day because my skills were insufficient enough to justify the cost. They do offer classes, which I did not explore, but might revisit the site in a year or two. I only used the Desktop option, which was clunky and cumbersome making conversing halting and less than a natural conversation, unlike the demonstration in this video using the VR method.
+1 to the last comment; I think the classes are what set Immerse apart. All the other features are secondary in my opinion (besides the conversation rooms). It’s cooler on VR, but I think the classes are good on either platform. I’d give it another shot and jump into a beginner class 🙌🏽

I watched the video and got SO excited about using it with Korean... then you mentioned the limited languages. Nuts.
Stay tuned, Korean is on the list!
Been waiting for a video like this!

Love "second life" and we've had a few second lifers make their way into the Immerse community!
Fantastic video! This app would be a great way to use my new VR headset.
Agree 🙂
Only available for English Spanish and French 😢
Thanks for sharing; I still want the VR headset, though, jaja

You should change the graphic in the beginning that includes flags from many countries because this program only has THREE. misleading
shouldve mentioned in the beginning that its useless for having just 3 languages, so we wouldnt have wasted time watching the video
This looks terrible and a money grab im sure.
it’s pretty good for me, it’s like a buffet of classes and the AI convos are there if the classes are not
