Cheers Fred. New property is going really well. We have a small gathering I guess you could say once a month. Only 3 to 8 people go. Cheers for the watch mate
Just bonsai-d my first mulberry. Everything crossed that it survives. Love your olive tree. I live on the Sunshine Coast - what is yr advice for watering practices for my mulberry in this region?
Bad to hear that, Mulberrys are pretty hardy with luck he will be recover back. I wish you the best in the new place it looks harsh but beautiful for sure.. you got to love Australia its an awesome place
I remember when I was a kid we had a mulberry tree too!! We would eat them everyday till they were gone!! But I remember they always had black ants in the tree!! They didn’t bite.. or do any damage that I remember... just delicious !!!!
That tree is a little ripper. I have a mulberry near my place that I'm eyeing off for some air layers, but wondering on the best time of year for it on a mulberry? Also how did you get started in bonsai, would be great to hear a bit about your bonsai journey and how your learned and got better.
Hi mate. Yeh they take a while to air layer. I did mine in spring and cut them off in Autumn. Worked a treat. I'll do a vid one day but mainly my grandma used to like and talk about bonsai. 😁😁
aussie bonsai bloke , you crack me up all the time , very enjoyable vid mate , might have been extremely intoxicated hahaha , i;m gunna try and find a nice mulberry tree and air layer one myself I think ,see yu again soon mate
I watched all three of your Mulberry videos yesterday so I could check out the changes to the tree over the years. Sentimental value is really important and it is just a bonus that the tree looks great. Ive been trying to get mulberry cuttings to grow from a tree that my husbands grandmother planted, it would be at least 80 years old.
@@SamDoeckeAussiebonsaibloke Im practising my air layering. Never heard of it till a few months ago tho lol.. Since then Ive got 4 successes from 4 air layers on a crepe myrtle, and am trying some on needle junipers and a pear tree. As soon as I can get access to the Mulberry tree again I will try on it too :-)
Looks great Sam!
Cheers Nigel 😁

Hey mate try an airlayer. Mulberry trees don't do well from cuttings 😀😀
