Got married on the feast day of St. Xenia (Feb. 06). In a way, she is a patron of our family. It wasn't planned (by us), but someone above surely had a hand in that.

Can someone help me understand how to say her name correctly. Saint Xenia is actually my patron saint, and the funny thing is I can say my own name right no matter how hard I try. I used to say

There is no theological answer to this. God alone judges.
Also because I love our Blessed Saint Xenia, I include her husband in my prayers.

It is also a unlawful to work on the sabbath, but sometimes for the sake of righteousness there are higher purposes than the law. St. Xenia is not the only female saint who took on masculine roles at times for the cause of Christ.

The question on weather she was always barefooted is a real one I would ask even outside of a joke... It could be that he drew that for the simple fact to make it look light-hearted, but might be something important in the life of that saint... Despite this I said even that as a joke xD
