    I appreciate the amount of hand digging! I built a 40 sq metre extension two years ago and hand dug over 130 tons at 76 years old my back was feeling it when I finished!

    He finally figured out some work savings. Instead of having the dirt in his shovel TWICE as before, he finally learned to only have it in his shovel only ONCE, and to move STRAIGHT to the wheelbarrow.

    hi, what was size of roof lantern. I can see no extra steel beam has been provided to support the roof lantern.

    Just wondering how the visqueen under the floor insulation will lap over the DPC............? That is assuming you followed building regs?

    I must ask, was there any reason for running the joists length ways instead of going across from left to right?
    If you had run the joist from left to right the RSJ would not had been needed.
    Great build though, just a little confused with the roofing joist direction.

      for a 6 meter extension, it is necessary to provide steel beam to decrease the length of span.

      Sorry can’t give actual figures. My contractor costs which includes building materials was £34k with an additional £10k for 2nd fix materials (sockets, doors, flooring, paint, lights, roof lanterns)

    Hi do you need planning permission for a 6m extension?

    • @modilwar
      @modilwar  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You will need to submit plans to your local authority via the planning portal website. They will then write to all your adjacent neighbours (if you have any with in 10m). This process can take around 6 weeks. You will need to negotiate with your neighbours if they object to your plans.

    A missed opportunity not to fill the roof void ove the top of the inner block wall with PIR insulation before laying the osb sheets.
