Best RPG of all time. Yes i said it. Literally perfect in every aspect RPG need to offer. Storyline that made u go on emotional roller coaster, shivering OST (yes... every damn OST), character plot, hidden story, and it only have 1 CD in PS1 (other rpg could have 2-4 discs)

I had so much fun then while playing this because of the story, the graphics and nice soundtrack. But our playstation crashed so i can't remember if i ever finished this. Now i'm 22 and download it at my laptop and brings back my adventure with the three main character Mao (i named Riou), Jowy and Nanami. Sad I got the bad ending haha but I'll repeat it again 😁😆
when i was kid, until now i hve 2 child.. this game is only game tht was make me cry.. just to see opening, make my heart warm n my eyes fill lltl bit of wtr... ahhhhhhh good old day...
Still gives me goosebumps after all these years. A masterpiece of a game and done exactly what a sequel should - expand and improve on the good stuff. Shame it went downhill after this one and a reminder that better graphics shouldn't always take precedent over gameplay and story.
god, this opening.. time is going.. 0:13 , 0:14, 0:15....the music. this game made a mark in my life, also made a unbreakeable bond with someone important to me. i surprise myself feeling this at opening flows, seeing characters faces. every single detail i remember in this game is with value. i shall claim RPG games as equal inspiration as movies/series with incredibly rich characters and worlds, for anyone who question games. thanks konami. there's a fragment of my childhood here.
In-game visuals may look puny for today's standards, but don't let it fool you. This is undoubtedly one of the greatest jRPG of all time. Only a few games left me so emotionally attached to stories and characters like this masterpiece. It makes you really feel like you are part of the world and the conflict that burns it.

I love this game so freakin much! I love it so much I started a tattoo with Riou's in-game profile picture. Now I have kept going and are up to 56 character portraits all over the arms, going for all 108!
Thats so cool i really hope you get all the 108 characters. Easier way to meet other fans of this masterpiece.
Take a picture please. that must look cool.
Pic please
Waiting for the pics o/
The dire and chaotic piece transitioning into a light-hearted and filled with hope music is the best thing to ever come out of this opening cinematic! Perfectly balances out the threat of Highland Kingdom and the hopeful Dunan Unification Army.
Remaster coming on 2023
Anyone here after the remaster was announced?
Oh wow 2006. 525k views rn wonder how much it'll get to after the remaster release since this is considered one of the most play JRPGs by a lot of ppl.
Sometimes, I've played this game all the way just for the cooking battles
My man
PLeASE spread the word. A spiritual successor of Suikoden is on Kickstarter ending on Augst 30 2020! Eiyudan Chronicles: Hundred Heroes. Made by Suikoden veteran developers. www.kickstarter.com/projects/rabbitandbearstudios/eiyuden-chronicle-hundred-heroes (THERE IS A COOKING MINI GAME!)
IT'S FINALLY GETTING A RE-RELEASE ON PSN! OMG! CAN'T BREATHE! I'M DYING! *rolls on the floor, drooling and bouncing like a bacon strip* *coughs* *stands up* Excuse me for this excitement, but I am proudly announcing that we'll finally be able to replay this game at a reasonable price soon.
... A month later, still waiting... Ugh, Konami just likes taking its time to announce the re-release it seems.
*****
Got banned from their Facebook page once because I was tired of them never giving the fans what they want if it's not MGS.
ShinRaPresident
The Konami staff in the US are currently pushing for a re-release on the PSN, they already contacted Konami's Japanese division a while a go and they're waiting for answers.
Hey guys we are trying to make Konami hear us out for a new Suikoden 6 game can you pls fill this survey it just takes 5mins
suikoversum.polldaddy.com/s/who-are-suikoden-fans
You can also check Search on facebook for the suikoden Revival movement
If you like you can check my 2 Suikoden videos on my channel pls help me spread the word and make it happen :)
it came out on psn. the bad part is: you cant transfer suikoden 2 data to 3 unless you have the game discs or you have a backwards compatible ps3.
Pls Konami, make a remake like CAPCOM T__T You guys were great at that time.
Semoga Di buat REMAKE/REMASTER ya bang 😁
right now the team behind Suikoden who gets out from Konami joins themself and makes a new game titled Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes (basically Suikoden game but without its name and resource because Konami has the IP) they are gathering crowdfunding in Kickstarter.
In Term of opening i love Suikoden 3 still the best even now 2022! But story obviously suikoden 2!!
Suikoden 1 & 2 remaster hype!
Best girl? Sierra Mikain of course
+darkHevn she kicks butt
Huu sierra is hot..but dont forget we got jeanne the rune hahaha..and teressa too..so many gorgeus lady in suikoden 2
The most beauty is viki...
Oulan, with her huge.....fists
Just don't take her to get the unicorn ok
There should be a crowdfunding campaign for a suikoden anime.
After 5 years to what you say :)
We didn’t get an anime but at least now we’re getting a spiritual successor.
If they remake this in 3D like Suikoden V and full dub, bet it would be really awesome. Suikoden II has the best story of all Suikoden series
and don't make clive quest related with playtime
True... Bro
A spiritual successor to Suikoden named Eiyuden Chronicle has been announced. It's being developed by Suikoden veterans (e.g. Yoshitaka Murayama (creator of Suikoden)). The kickstarter is live and mighty successful (more than US $2,5 million so far): www.kickstarter.com/projects/rabbitandbearstudios/eiyuden-chronicle-hundred-heroes/description
All I need is a remake, still in classic 2D style, but better render graphics and remastering soundtrack/bgm. That's it, KONAMI.

Rewatching this intro gave me goosebumps. This game is a masterpiece. Quite easily in my top 2 favorite games of all time, right after FFVII.
+jahildebrandt I completely agree.
jahildebrandt hey you should put it at the top xD
Came here after the announcement of the remaster, can't wait to play both Suikoden I and II again. 😁
Need ramake
Best RPG of all time. Yes i said it. Literally perfect in every aspect RPG need to offer. Storyline that made u go on emotional roller coaster, shivering OST (yes... every damn OST), character plot, hidden story, and it only have 1 CD in PS1 (other rpg could have 2-4 discs)
I remember when I was 10, me and my papa goes to mall to buy resident evil 3 and i don't know how I found suikoden 2 and buy it as well.
So many good memories with this game....still my favorite game of all time....
gosh this song brings me to happy tears!!!
One of my favorites as well.
when i was kid, until now i hve 2 child.. this game is only game tht was make me cry.. just to see opening, make my heart warm n my eyes fill lltl bit of wtr... ahhhhhhh good old day...
90s Japanese gaming composers up there with John Williams
I'm here before the remake hahaa
One of the best game movies in my humble opinion
Cant wait to see this opening and the rest of the game remastered.
I forgot that literally every jrpg had an epic opening.
Still have the goosebumps. You are revived! Still the best in the series, and a true JRPG Gold Standard.
truly excited for the remaster
Suikoden 2 is the best story that I saw in video games.
title: Opening
artist:Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra & Chorus, Yumiko Takahashi
album:Genso Suikoden II Original Game Soundtrack Vol. 1 (Disc 1)
the very best game I've ever played, the plot that made me fall in love: 'i love suikonden 2
Suikoden will be back!!!
in my opinion one of the best jrpgs of all time! i love suikoden one but two nailed it!!! every christmas holiday i play that masterpiece.
Bright Shield and Black Sword…two sides of the same coin…..what a story
In-game visuals may look puny for today's standards, but don't let it fool you. This is undoubtedly one of the greatest jRPG of all time. Only a few games left me so emotionally attached to stories and characters like this masterpiece. It makes you really feel like you are part of the world and the conflict that burns it.
They don't do this kind of Game Opening Video anymore. This is a treasure.
2017, and they still can't match the scale of this emotion of a war time epic in a JRPG

Still the best JRPG of all time. Everytime I watch the Opening it brings back so many great childhood memories.
Eiyuden Chronicles baby!
I’m so thankful for my three brothers for introducing this masterpiece game to me. 😭😭😭
Who here cuz of the HD remaster announcement
Goosebumps everytime!
1 out of 5 Suikoden 2 Is still the best🔥
Best Suikoden of all time.
Suikoden II
Suikoden III
Suikoden
Suikoden V
And the one that shall not be named. In that order.
This game is the most nostalgic game i have played as a kid in the 90s It has the best story and game mechanics in all RPG. The game will make your cry, laugh, happy, sad and excited It also has the best villain of all time Luca Blight! I cant wait to see how Luca look in the remake 2023..
I remember when I was 10 or 11, i intended to buy resident evil 3 but saw this one and bought it. Hapoy I did the good decision to purchased this game. The best and most nostalgic game I played. 😭😊❤️
I've played a lot of jRPG game when i was youger...but this game is one of my favorite. I finished it again on emulator a couple of month ago...and it was awesome. Probably one of the best for me with FFTactics (not really a RPG tho)!!!
