Fun Fact: In Shwabadi's reaction video to this song where he broke down his verse, he said the line right here (9:59) "Out on the town getting wasted, downing round after round after round like a Falinks" was put there because, he thought drinking was the most British thing he could think of, since he wanted to make it as British as he could, which is what that references

I already was a fan of the cyphers and ahve watched all and was absolutely ecstatic when patters started reacting to them
His cyphers are always a lot of fun, but you should also definitely check out his normal songs, he's really good! A good one I always recommend from Cam is Chaos Control, his song based on Shadow the Hedgehog. Even if you don't enjoy Sonic stuff, it's such a good track on it's own!
Cam did great as Red, highlighted how he was the first and contender for strongest cannon Pokemon trainer. Favorite line was "I carry tracks back when Wrap was spammed", because my god that move was broken.
Zach did a very nice telling of Ethan's story, nothing really much more to say, it was just well done. Favorite line was "they only got half of my 16 badges", which is a line only Ethan can say.
Chi-Chi killed it as May, the first really notable female character that was playable. May herself is very energetic and loud and proud. Favorite line is "Going harder than Archie's pecks", because it's a really funny line to hear sung so beautifully.
Savvy as Dawn was a good choice. While May is loud and energetic, Dawn is quieter and more reserved. Favorite line was "Giratina 808's when I smash distortion", because the vocal effect was top notch.
Mat4yo as Hilbert, this is gonna take a bit. There was so much packed in here, I'm gonna do a separate comment specifically for Mat4yo. But my favorite line was "We leave them out like the laundry, High, Dry, Gon", because it was a play on the Pokemon Hydreigon.
Halacg as Rosa did wonderfully. Her rhyme scheme at the beginning was the same as the end of Mat4yo's verse, making them lead into each other perfectly. Favorite line was "Catching out cheats like a gal's playing Amoonguss", ..... SUS!
Sailorurlove as Serena was perfect, since Serena is by far the most feminine female playable character as of yet. Favorite line was "Got my Absol ready, yeah we're bringing the doom", because Absol only appears when disaster is near.
McGwire as Elio, nothing much to say other than this was an absolute bop! Favorite line was "No sash and you won't last", because the item Focus Sash causes you to live on 1 HP if and only if you were about to be one shot from full HP. McGwire saying that he is gonna one shot everyone.
Shwabadi as Victor. The Brit raps as the Brit. Favorite line is "The Glock's hammer's locked I keep it stowed on side", because he referenced 2 town names in one line.
Shofu as Ash. Shofu is a phenomenal rapper and made Ash seem a lot cooler than he actually is. Favorite line is "We be running up the show it's like I'm 40 years old", because I think that's how old the character has been airing for.
ash is cool. some of you guys are just impatient to immediately drop the anime after sun and moon came along cause the majority of them are mostly biased x and y fans. like journeys exist. you don't know all of his amazing feats currently.

Patters always had a negative bias against gen 5 and it shows so i'm guessing it's the same for the UK raps
Hilbert (Mat4yo (the goat)) actually had a ton of really good bars that went over your head, but it’s all good, great reaction and I have to agree that shofu killed it!

I have to say the gen 7 one is my favorite, not only did it start the Aloha to the Alola meme it also goes pretty hard imo
I really liked the wordplay in the B/W verse but in terms of lyricism, flow and delivery I really liked the Gen 2 verse.

You should definitely do the Villians one next. It is amazing. As for this one the only one I didn’t like was Ethan’s verse. Rosa’s verse actually makes me want to play gen 5. I am still waiting for someone to break down the lines though.

The lines for Rosa weren't too complex because the artist focused on emphasizing her flow and rhyme patterns.
In rap, there's generally 3 core thing you use from a technical standpoint: flow, rhyme, and punchlines. What often happens when times when you put an emphasis on one, you need to sacrifice a bit of the other.
Compare Rosa's verse to Victor's. Rosa emphasized different flow speeds and rhyme schemes. Her beginning had the rhyme at "why TRY HUN?" and quickly kept that rhyme for a while "tag in WHITE'S ON. Light space PYTHON, innate FIGHT STRONG, ain't gonna HIDE SON." She really emphasized the rhymes and while there were some references that need explanation like "5 stars (she's saying she top tier while also making a reference to being 5 star in Masters) I Gurdurr with em heavy bars (she has great rap bars and wordplay while comparing herself to Gurdurr, a pokemon that carries literally heavy bars.)"
Victor's verse was way more punchline focused. But punchlines require set up, otherwise you won't understand what they're trying to say.
"Keep a stick on me. Mr Rhyme."
_I have a gun on me like Mr Rhyme_ A gun is often called a stick, so he make the connection between the two since Mr Rhyme carries a cane or stick.
"The glock's hammer's locked. I keep it stowed on side."
_My gun (glock) is loaded, and I keep it close to me_ while making a play on the names of the towns Hammerlocke and Stow-on-side. He used their names and gave them a different meaning from the ones in the game.
Rap has a lot of techniques that people use to create their verses. But sometimes to use one technique well requires you to not use another as much. And the art of it is finding the balance you want and using it the best you can.

You didn’t like gen 5 because the track was based on when rap was first introduced into New York and you’re used to modern grime drills and hype traps etc.
However even with that track, I think Mat4yo is the most suited for that and did a really good job.

After rewatching all the old raps and Cyphers and then watching the newer ones you can. Really see cams style change and his abilities as a rapper progress also wanted to mention how Ethan flexed his 16 badges but ash technically has every badge from every region other than Gen 8
So I think Pat really went into this with no real knowledge of how good this Cypher was. I feel he's missing a lot of the references because there is a lot of layers. It really shows when a non-rapper reacts to this stuff they REALLY miss a lot of the layers in these bars. Especially with Mat4Yo's verse for Gen 5 because it's supposed to be a New York style Rapper which makes sense to the region of Unova being based off the East Coast in the US near NYC

Like "Wow. Multiple different refernces to the generation, interesting wordplay with pokemon names? Amazing!... the same thing? It's okay."

After seeing Mat4Yo's explanation for his lyrics, as well as using a slightly more New Yorker accent with the saxophone in the back, it made Hilbert's verse my second favorite. It fit the region based on New York, the rhyming and references were great, and just everything. The chanting in Rosa's and the saxophones are supposed to replicate that New York music style, as well as just pop culture music back in 2011. Victor's was also amazing. Elio's is my favorite.
Watch the villains cypher as that one is honestly my favorite.

Gen 3 and 8 are tied for my favourite verse on this, Chi-chi's voice is downright heavenly and Shawabadi has some great wordplay
