Thanks for a great review, I'm lucky to have the Blaser R8 Ultimate 308W with Swarovski Z8i 2-16x50p ready for dear hunting next weekend here in Norway.
I have 3 tikka t3 supervarmints, all in GRS stocks. A mate has a blaser r8 Pro success with 3 barrels. The blaser and barrels work out about the same cost as my 3 all set up, wish I'd gone blaser from the start 🤦♂️ Other benefits, if we are out stalking then shooting foxes after dark, he only needs to leave a barrel in the car, I have to leave my foxing rifle in the car (minus bolt and mag). If you are just starting out and are planning on getting a few rifes, it would be worth the initial outlay for a blaser for sure👍🏻
I'm so happy they offer options for 17 hmr and 22 wmr now. Already got the 22 LR kit so I just need the barrels with inserts - expensive though. Noticed they also offer 17 hornet and 22 hornet now. Very interesting.
Looks fantastic, I’d personally be more inclined to go for the calibre set, as I have with the Cz, rather than buy just one specific calibre, I can really see how the modularity is a plus, great review as always (Andy Small)
CZ Calibre sets are also a great range and in fairness, for rimfire shooters a great option that I use myself. This is really one for the Blaser fans with Blaser pockets but a very dedicated approach to solving the inherent challenges of a small cartridge in a large rifle
For those with spare folding all power to them if they want to spank the money, like bikes some will be able to afford a Ducati others a secondhand Honda they all do 100mph and the same with rifles cloverleaf is cloverleaf whether a £300 CZ or spenny Blaser, with that said if my lotto numbers come in the Blaser would no doubt be bought forth with…
@@chrisparkin431 we are a broad church so to speak and crikey if I had the spare folding I would buy that in a heart beat aaas we all know it’s the dogs…….. but always Chris you give everything a fair go and that I’m grateful for, proper honest , keep on keeping on…
WHAT! you mean to tell me the trigger and the magazine is one unit, i would like to know what trigger they use and what the pull pressure is on it. Do all of the calibers come this way? That is a game changer for me.
I had one 7-8? years ago, the rifle was a Savage B-mag? and although accurate, quite awful in every other regard. I gave the ammo away after the review was done and I think the same shop still has it, they never sold well and I have never seen one since either in a shop, at a show or even in a brochure/flyer.
@@chrisparkin431 Hi Chris I have a Ruger 77/17/WSM With a rifle basics trigger Which breaks at 14 ounces and makes this Rifle amazingly accurate up to 300 yds I’m in Berkshire in all fairness They have come along way since the last time you tried them.
I think almost nobody buys a Blaser R8 Ultimate 17 HMR, but rather an R8 Utimate in a common caliber. So the question is more how much does the conversion kit for 17 HMR cost.

A really good Video. Thanks a lot 😊
Hi I have blaser r8 in 6. 5 creedmoor great bit of kit the best things you get you just need barrels so you have more room in your gun cabinet
Fantastic engineering comes with a price. I do so see how many purchasers go with multi caliber setups vs buying separate rifles entirely.

I would absolutely love any rifle in 17 Hornet with regular ammunition supply
@@chrisparkin431 or a reloading setup for it.
A great video of a loverly rifle system.
Price aside for one moment. If you dont like the Blaser R8 its because you dont want to like it.
got r8 pro success 3006 super accurate at 500m. and its even same weight as my sako 85 carbonwolf…..sooo good rifle
Considering you can shoot just about anything out of a Blaser. I would say the entry price is worth it.

Nice video. Can you tell me what is Bh height of that scope rings 18 or 22 mm? I need that information for 56 mm scope ?
18
Nice kit but way too pricey for me and many. Will stick with affordable, reliable CZ.
me too
Lovely gun, sadly I can’t afford it 😂
it is but I can't either, a very interesting concept though all the same
I like the Bipod whats its name ?
Blaser/tier-one
What Suprressor and what caliber is this one?
It tells you in the video and the title😉
Do you have the Link to the test. Of 3 barrels and on sight?
Its on the video and on my channel
Very Nice ''''
nice to have have tried it and shown it on the channel I agree
Benelli lupo toughts?
Not shot one
I’m amazed you think they are corrosion resistant. If mine so much as gets a drop of rain on it they rust like crazy same with my Blaser shotgun.
I have access to several long term guns which have stood up very well
@@chrisparkin431 not sure where you live but I’m right on the coast in the north west and it tends to eat things.
Very nice but a little bit exspensif
Yes, true
