I'm with Kenneth Jones. I generally open carry all the time, and have never had any problems. Honestly, I've been in more situations in the supposed "good" parts of town in DFW where I had to brandish it and almost use it whenever I had it CONCEALED than whenever I was in the seedy more dangerous areas and carrying it OPEN. In fact I actually sincerely feel that it completely repelled any sort of person that would want to harm me had I not been displaying a 5.7 on my hip.
What I mean is I've never had to use or brandish my weapon once when open carrying, even in the seedier areas of cities, yet I've had to brandish and use my weapon multiple times when concealed carrying it. You are the correct one of the two. Why do you think a criminal won't immediately take out the first threat he encounters first without even saying a word.
A criminal isn't going to attack a bear and its cubs. You should do you. Do what you know is best. Having your children with access is a bad idea. So I think concealed for YOU is best. But stay aware and lock your doors immediately when in your vehicle. Your biggest time to be attacked is when you are loading those children in the vehicle. So be aware. Great video! I carry concealed, primarily because I like the tactical advantage. I have been through the pancake holsters, the OWB kydex, the IWB kydex, and every thing in between. I chose a 3" 357 revolver as my EDC because it is small enough to fit inside the waist band or even in a pocket. Some of the small frame semi-autos work just as well, as far as comfort. I think program compliance is the most important aspect, as whatever you choose, it is better to have it with you than not carry because of some comfort issue.
The last thing I want anybody knowing is that I’m carrying a gun. I want them to know I’m carrying only when they get that “surprise”. Pocket carry in baggy style cargo shorts everyday in warm ass Florida is the only way I carry, and it’s usually a “stack and a half” gun like the 365, Hellcat, Shield Plus or CR920X. Lately it’s the 365 macro variant with the radian ramjet.
I've tried all kinds of holsters. Iwb, owb, shoulder holsters. Didn't like any of them. I thought I would. Then I discovered belly band holsters. So comfortable you almost forget its there.
Open carry is allowed here in MN but I don’t usually do that unless I’m going to the range etc. I just don’t want to deal with the Karens that will freak out.
I open carry every day in MN. The only reaction I've had are compliments on doing it and a noticeable difference in being treated more politely. I was expecting a negative reaction based on all the internet videos. I now believe fully that an armed society is a polite society and no one knows you are armed unless they see you are armed.
Concealed carry every day, unless I'm in the woods/mountains, then I chest carry. Be aware of the laws where you are as well. I had a friend in Nevada carry all the time, but then he stepped onto the strip and found out the hard way the entire Vegas strip is privately owned! Crazy, I thought it was public space, nope. And I mean I understand where he's coming from bc after the Vegas shooting, an everyday cc guy might think to carry to defend himself and others if he needs, but no no. Be smart, be safe
Without private property signage everywhere, in a place everyone believes to be public, your buddy was not wrong. The people who raked him over the coals swore an oath to the constitution, nothing else, and were acting privately when they stepped out of the lines. This is called perjuring your oath, aka perjury. The penalty for perjury is…..
A good way to carrie the holster is on the left side with the pistole in the other direction than on the right side. It allows a very quick handling of the pistole
Should You Open Carry Your Pistol? IMO - No! Absolutely NOT in public. Hunting in Bear country, then yes! You do NOT want anyone to know you are armed, if you do, you BECOME a target and lose element of surprise. Know the law, Keep it small, keep it concealed and keep it comfortable!!! BTW, I have carried concealed since the 1970's without an issue.
I don't think open carry is a good idea because it can create panic and lead to issues with cops, even if it is perfectly legal where you live, but in most cases knowing you are armed will be a deterrent to a criminal, not a reason to attack. Criminals generally want easy looking targets.
Wrong, people look at others as targets when they aren't armed e.g. schools, churches, etc. If you have a firearm showing then someone that is looking to rob someone will go pick someone else because they are looking for something easy with no resistance.
I just purchased a Smith & Wesson bodyguard 380 that fits perfectly in my front pocket and me being with my hands in my pockets at all times which has always been my nature it’s perfect. My winter carry is the Hellcat Pro but the bodyguard 380 is the perfect gun for lightweight summer clothes! it also has the integrated crimson trace laser. Just a great gun in my opinion and with a heavier trigger pull you don’t have to worry about an accidental discharge should the interior of your pocket or something gets snagged on the trigger.
I had a similar experience while walking into my dojo... open caring a 1911/8 rd mag... turned my back to the group so I could see them in the reflection of the glass.... they immediately crossed the street to avoid me... I live 25 miles from Norfolk! I also carry two 10 round mags in a mag holder :)
I work in an environment that requires open carry to enhance security. I have found a good quality "thumb break" holster helps keep my weapon readily accessible but also secure from gun grabbing idiots who get a quick finger in the eye. A thumb break is considered a level two retention. Level three is available but makes your weapon less accessible with slower time to the draw. Nothing replaces staying situationally aware when open carry is required on the job.
I live in North Carolina I have a ccw but at times I do open carry because it’s not only my right to but because I’ve also had very great conversations on how to get a gun or what’s the best gun or how to go about getting training for a hand gun so there are a lot of pros to open carry
Definitely agree , concealed is the way to go , if you’re not wanting to present yourself as a target , I must have 50 holsters by now trying to find the best most comfy option , T Rex is my latest purchase and it’s not too bad , it becomes a lot more tricky the smaller you are , I have a 30 waist and comfort is my biggest issue with IWB carrying but I wouldn’t have it any other way . Good stuff though fellas …
I am from SA and we only open carry on a gun range I use your first option use that on the range you can open carry on the range with short pants with out a belt
I pocket carry a Colt Defender in a kidex holster. Totally comfortable in all climates and weather conditions. If legal, I would consider open carry in a level 2 or 3 holster for the deterance benefit.
Another good option for people who have multiple pistols they open carry is the Cytac Megafit holster. It’s universal but it’s a hard plastic like kydex. They are basically like a Blackhawk Serpa holster except they fit basically all pistols and do it well. I hate the nylon Uncle Mike type holsters but this one is nothing like those. I know people don’t like universals normally as I am the same way. But this one is different. They even have different attachments you can swap out like currently mine has a molle attachment so I can run it off my war belt. I can use it for my Glock 48, my Taurus GX4 Carry, My Canik TP9SF Elite, Baretta APX A1 Compact and my Glock 19. I normally conceal carry but sometimes I like to open carry so I can show I fully support the second amendment and people all day tell me thank you for not hiding what you believe in. I understand why people conceal carry but come on if more people open carried maybe the left would shut up about guns because they would see just how many gun toting Americans were around them each day. Be proud you can carry a gun don’t hide it.
I refuse to open carry in a holster that does not have a thumb-break for weapons retention. I have been open carrying for about 20 years, and 10 of those years have been in the same Galco Fletch with a thumb-break.
I have multiple EDCs, multiple holsters - whatever it takes to make sure I carry the best option for the day, every day. I don't open carry for the reasons demonstrated here, but to each their own.
Tennicore Holster G19x Tlr light, 3 o’clock carry, outside waist. I am able to conceal WITH the TENICORE holster with zero print. I switch holsters and it prints like a mofo. I carry somewhat concealed. Anyone familiar with the topic would know I do. But most don't. Where I live, open is an option. In my church, several carry openly. But when I'm by myself I'm not going to make myself uncomfortable either way. I carry for MY comfortability, my safety. Let the chips fall.
I "open carry " on the range, sometimes in the woods hunting. The rest of the time concealed carry. It draws less attention and, as stated, "doesn't introduce " anything to the situation. Legal definition is if it is in any way "covered or concealed "... wearing a jacket or untucked shirt... even if partial covered. Poor concealment.. printing or partially showing... is just a matter of learning how to properly carry your firearm on you. Regardless of the style of holster you choose to use. However, the type of clothing you wear, the fitment of your clothing, and being able to "conceal" your firearm and not print or flash for it to be known. Is going to then determine the style of holster and / or the fitment and type of clothing that you wear..even the type and size of firearm. If i am going to "open carry " and visibly wear it. None of that matters. I am in the woods, i am at the range, and i am shooting in a competition.... It does make a difference, however, to understand the definition between "concealed " and "open" carry. The same applies to "wearing " the firearm. Printing or profiling is one thing. Constantly fiddling with it and adjusting it. Adjusting your clothing... all of that matters. A properly "concealed " firearm is just that... concealed.
Got me 1 of them urban carry lock leather for my glock 31. Owb super close on body and great comfort. And that lock thing works great for retention. Check em out.
Situational awareness is the simplified approach. I CC but understand I won’t be as quick as someone open carrying. That said, I know that no one is able to commandeer my pistol.
If I’m trail running at dusk on a random Tuesday and don’t expect to see anyone else on the trail, seems like open carrying with a chest holster would be better than concealed
This is true, so is the fact that criminals deal with treats first or bail on sight of your piece. They don’t always bail, but if they didn’t know you were armed, you may not be shot or held a gunpoint. Probably most cases the sidearm works as a deterrent, but the ones that don’t, end up all the way on the other side of the spectrum.
I don’t necessarily agree with open carry for the exact reasons you talked about. I’m licensed to conceal carry and only carry IWB appendix with a proper holster. Obviously this takes some time to get comfortable with having a firearm aimed at your junk but it literally leaves no printing and I don’t have to worry about people knowing I have my firearm on me
To everyone hating open carry in these comments, dont do it if you dont want to, but dont hate others for exercising rights. Personally, I open carry doing the usual outdoor things, hiking, hunting, camping, offroading. Im also not afraid to stop at the gas station, grocery store, or anywhere else on the way to or from doing those outdoor things.
I pocket carry,it doesn't print. I tried IWB and OWB. I can actually draw quicker than trying to lift up my shirt and draw when IWB. And a firearm prints too much and is difficult to conceal in these Southern States because I usually wear short sleeve up to Dec.
you have to be careful presenting in Virginia - the situation you described can be considered "brandishing", but the chances of a handful of knuckleheads from Norfolk (whew) understanding this is very very slim. carrying is serious and I think you have to continue to educate yourself about everything it requires
Most holsters designed for conceal carry don't have locks like holsters worn for on duty to prevent theft. There were some criminals who have attempted to steal guns from officers which is why you see holsters made with different level of safety to prevent theft. Conceal carry is the best choice when out in public and also our responsibility to ensure our firearms don't fall into the hands of criminals. Criminals get firearms from theft and when they use it to commit a crime, how would you feel knowing your firearm was used? Every time a firearm is used by a criminal, anti-2A always lump us in with criminals. Conceal and secure.
I'm seeing videos every day of people being disarmed and in some cases shot with their own weapon. People don't understand these illegals are desperate and they know they cannot legally go obtain so they go to what they know... To steal
I open carry everywhere as I like educating the public and law enforcement officers and have a great situational awareness . It will also deter most criminals from even thinking about doing anything shady. I may be targeted, which I already took into consideration before strapping up 🤷
I use a gunfightersinc owb ronin holster at work. It has tight retention and designed that you have to pull the gun straight up and clear the holster. Somebody coming up behind you would have a hard time trying to snatch your s**t
Open carry imo makes you a target Concealed gives you that element of suprise over losers wanting to create fear on the people that they are trying to intimidate Please do a full review on the Vanish holster or another Fanny pack daily carry I can't find a decent one Help would be greatly appreciated my friend Be well and God Bless
I open cary a full size pistol fully understanding it makes me a target. I am OK with this, as my wife carries concealed. I want to attention on me while she backs me up if needed.
Would you please address kydex vs leather vs Velcro soft holsters. I’ve watched many videos that mention with a soft holster material, there is a possibility of something deforming the holster and pushing on trigger when carrying with a round chambered. I would like to carry in a shoulder holster but have the same concerns.
I've used shoulder holsters since the late 80s and 90s. Galco SS2 or Miami Classic are the BEST. If you can find them the old Jackass rigs are also good and very well made.
You can go quick releasing level two and three retention and just refuse to walk around this world like a scared kiddy cat worrying about how other people might feel. If some goon wants that they’re gonna have to knock me out, figure out the puzzle, then run. I don’t think they’d try it.
Open carry not only draws attention from bad people but it also draws attention from the Police who sometimes like to stop you and ask you questions. I have had a Glock in my pocket in a pocket holster since 2007 without any issues. Stay ready and safe everyone.
@@The78CJ5 This exactly. I’ve been standing in front of on duty cops at the Wawa cashier with a front pocket carry pistol in my shorts and they’re oblivious to me having a gun. Why anybody wants the extra attention makes zero sense?
Open carrying in public hasn’t ever set well with me personally. I do not see it as a deterrent as some do, it is putting a target on yourself for criminals to mark in their arena.
As an open carrier myself, I can attest to the positive experiences I have had. Over the years, I have not encountered any of the dire situations predicted by concealed carry advocates. In fact, there are numerous accounts of concealed carriers being disarmed and having their firearms used against them. The narrative that concealed carry is inherently safer does not hold up when we examine real-world dynamics. Moreover, open carriers often serve as advocates for Second Amendment rights. I frequently encounter individuals, especially newcomers to an area, who approach me with questions about carrying laws and permits. I take pride in sharing my knowledge and promoting responsible gun ownership. This engagement fosters understanding and awareness about the right to bear arms, positively contributing to the community Plus, most crime that is committed here in my area for shootings is from concealed carriers and criminals concealing weapons. Never anything on the news about shootings or attacks on open carriers. Just saying.
99% of guys I see open carrying appear as though they are just performing as "tough guy" trying to somehow intimidate & look impressive when really, they just look like a DB. As mentioned here, you're immediately identified as target #1 to everyone else.
It is important to recognize that the criticisms directed at open carriers often stem from the insecurities of concealed carriers. Many concealed carriers may feel threatened by the visible confidence of open carriers, leading to feelings of inadequacy. This emotional response is not limited to one demographic; it is often observed among men who may grapple with their perceptions of masculinity and bravery.
@@joebx1111 yeah I hear you brother, kind of why I opted for a chest holster too, it’s a thick girl lol. I bet the 3.5 would work much better, keep that stopping power too instead of swapping to a smaller caliber. I’m no expert though. I got mine for bear defense mainly lol
Some just barely had enough money to by the tool itself, then to remain "lawful" and be able to protect themselves in public, their only choice is to carry openly so the world and all its criminals can see their pewpew. If it was all about "safety" then like hunter safety courses, ccw classes should be free, people can donate or pay for a class willingly. For other humans to extort money from other humans to "legally" carry what they want in their pocket is completely utterly flat out disgusting, and so are the humans that agree with this extortion!!
NO, if a criminal see it, he will try, steal it .walking around in, gas stations, stores, or walking around in on street. Oh yeah? I seen Peter Griffin raise a whole nest of baby birds in his beard! True story😂 Not disrespecting you, I'm just having a stupid moment.
LOL 😂
The last thing I want anybody knowing is that I’m carrying a gun. I want them to know I’m carrying only when they get that “surprise”.
Pocket carry in baggy style cargo shorts everyday in warm ass Florida is the only way I carry, and it’s usually a “stack and a half” gun like the 365, Hellcat, Shield Plus or CR920X. Lately it’s the 365 macro variant with the radian ramjet.
1911 too chunky for cargo pockets? Lol
Appreciate all you do brother..stay strong and strong...
I've tried all kinds of holsters. Iwb, owb, shoulder holsters. Didn't like any of them. I thought I would. Then I discovered belly band holsters. So comfortable you almost forget its there.
Best reason to open carry is to find other freedom lovers who are also into firearms. Great way to make friends!
Open carry is allowed here in MN but I don’t usually do that unless I’m going to the range etc. I just don’t want to deal with the Karens that will freak out.
Its better if you help to normalize it though.
*We must solve this problem.
Why wild bill went heals out
Should You Open Carry Your Pistol?
Yeah, like the six guys described in the video. Open Carry is a deterance to crime just like any other show of force is.
Liking these videos of you guys Kirks a great addition
Definitely agree , concealed is the way to go , if you’re not wanting to present yourself as a target , I must have 50 holsters by now trying to find the best most comfy option , T Rex is my latest purchase and it’s not too bad , it becomes a lot more tricky the smaller you are , I have a 30 waist and comfort is my biggest issue with IWB carrying but I wouldn’t have it any other way . Good stuff though fellas …
Andrews custom leather pancake is a great option. Awesome craftsmanship.
Thanks for the information.
As a retired, LEO, I don't recommend open carry. OWB with a cover garments.
OWB is my favorite as long you're wearing the right shirt or hoodie to cover your weapon, and it's not printing while bending over.
I have the pancake version, but haven't used it much. Thanks to your instructions, I plan to use it more often. Thank you, my Brother!
Any GOOD school will teach the concept of learning how to to dress around your gun. Food for thought. Stay UnGovernable. Love ya 3 of 7❤
I carry somewhat concealed. Anyone familiar with the topic would know I do.
But most don't. Where I live, open is an option. In my church, several carry openly. But when I'm by myself I'm not going to make myself uncomfortable either way. I carry for MY comfortability, my safety. Let the chips fall.
Hey, they won’t know about the back up micro in the pocket, but they’ll know about the 21 rounds on the hip tucked into the rapid force slim.
A properly "concealed " firearm is just that... concealed.
i carry appendix IWB for speed and great concealment! love you guys
I concur.
If I’m trail running at dusk on a random Tuesday and don’t expect to see anyone else on the trail, seems like open carrying with a chest holster would be better than concealed
I got the idea that open carry is a deterrent.. your story Chad almost confirms that.

Your CCW won't ever be a deterrent anymore than a mean big dog. 2- 10 seconds and both are neutralized quickly.
I like the owb option around the house or on the property. Go iwb when i go out in public
I don’t necessarily agree with open carry for the exact reasons you talked about. I’m licensed to conceal carry and only carry IWB appendix with a proper holster. Obviously this takes some time to get comfortable with having a firearm aimed at your junk but it literally leaves no printing and I don’t have to worry about people knowing I have my firearm on me
The T-Rex arms Ironside is the perfect OWB concealed carry holster for me 🔥
If you are just staring to CCW, OWB has the benefit of not having to loose 5lbs or buying a whole wardrobe of bigger waisted pants.
I use Safariland holsters when I open carry.
I pocket carry,it doesn't print. I tried IWB and OWB. I can actually draw quicker than trying to lift up my shirt and draw when IWB. And a firearm prints too much and is difficult to conceal in these Southern States because I usually wear short sleeve up to Dec.
I carry OWB every day but never open carry. I have to carry IWB very rarely due to my clothing choices.
you have to be careful presenting in Virginia - the situation you described can be considered "brandishing", but the chances of a handful of knuckleheads from Norfolk (whew) understanding this is very very slim. carrying is serious and I think you have to continue to educate yourself about everything it requires
Conceal and secure.
triple threat holster for open carry don't give em a chance to take your pistol!
I'm seeing videos every day of people being disarmed and in some cases shot with their own weapon. People don't understand these illegals are desperate and they know they cannot legally go obtain so they go to what they know... To steal
Heck I’m old and my shoulders are not flexible. I find it extremely difficult to draw from 4 o clock
Concealed for me. I just want to be low vis. Slip around unnoticed. I don’t want to be a memorable guy. You do you.
You got anything for an 1861 Navy Colt 🖤🙏
Open carry imo makes you a target Concealed gives you that element of suprise over losers wanting to create fear on the people that they are trying to intimidate Please do a full review on the Vanish holster or another Fanny pack daily carry I can't find a decent one Help would be greatly appreciated my friend Be well and God Bless
Watch the videos on here with people getting them snatched in public.
Very easy to do and incredibly amateurish to open carry.

Sounds like a 4 year old kid snatched a dingy guy open carrying firearm right out of his holster.
I need to find a private spot to practice this.
Well here in Jerusalem Israel we don’t give a sh..t about printing. So that’s makes this and next videos great. Thanks! God bless you all.
@@copper178
I'm also around a lot of Cops who have no clue I'm armed with not one, but several knives and multiple firearms.
How do y'all find jeans that are loose enough to pocket carry? I can't even carry a phone in my pocket without it printing.

This engagement fosters understanding and awareness about the right to bear arms, positively contributing to the community
Plus, most crime that is committed here in my area for shootings is from concealed carriers and criminals concealing weapons.
Good to hang out at your channel! Can’t stand the world!
See open carry I feel safer in society have zero problem with it.
What are your thoughts on a belly band carry?
I only open carry in bear country. Got me a nice chest holster for my 10mm
Xdm elite?
@@joebx1111 yes
@2DoorExplore damn right love mine. Ccw is a little difficult, but looking into the 3.5 version
I prefer open but NEVER without .... period.
You are totally correct. Come to NJ and try it out.
Concealed, convenient on many levels, in most places. Exception, wilderness carry in bear country. 🇺🇸
I concur.
Isn't it already common for guys to open carry a gun in bear country?
NO, if a criminal see it, he will try, steal it .walking around in, gas stations, stores, or walking around in on street. Less someone or anyone, know you carrying a pistol, in your pocket or in your wristband. .basically open carry, in public, make you a Targeted individual, people start calling the police, and security Guards, are watching you, and following you around in the store, citizens and costumer and employees, get very nervous, some have very bad ANXIETY ATTACKS. Or psychologically mental breakdown and other things.
We need a video on open carry options for m249 saw
Situation dependent 😊
if I am carrying a desert eagle, gold plated, with ghost flames, in 50AE...damn straight I will open carry it. Keltec....Probably, keep it concealed.
3:40 or so says it all
Howzit Chadd?.... When y'all were talking about getting in and out of your vehicle,, my thought was, copperz do it their whole shift without taking off their belts or the pistol out of the holster.
Just a thought.
Absolutely not! Never.
Cool. I chest carry ❤❤
