  • These 2.0L turbo engines are great engines. The plastic water pump will always be a failure item and need to be replaced. The fix is to replace the water pump, w/p belt, bolt for w/p pulley and bolts that fasten the water pump to the engine block. Please use the proper VW violet engine coolant to fill the cooling system.

Put more words in your video description under the video so people car search for it faster. There’s lots of VW owners needing this knowledge, wherever they are

2:47 my car is leaking some kind of liquid (sort of rust-colored, not oil) from the same spot as in the background in the video. Does anyone know what this could be? It's not water as it leaks it even when there was no rain, and the liquid does not dry away once it's on the ground

Hello, what you are seeing is very likely coolant/antifreeze. The factory antifreeze for these VW's are violet/pink in color.

@@premierautomotivediagnosti9432 I see on the coolant amount left that it's not massively leaking. Is this leak something I should have fixed, or can I tolerate it assuming I check the coolant levels regularly?

Petrol or diesel? Diesel may not be common stateside but it's common elsewhere.

German vehicles coolant system consist of rubber o-rings and hard plastic pipe's.. I stopped video at 20 second mark to input the comment. If you own a 2000 year model or newer german vehicle, good luck with your coolant system.. the hard plastic degrades/ disintegrates. German cars are the absolute worst for coolant system design/functionality

@@littlemissdyer13 It would be nice to replace one of the coolant hoses/piping. If they offer the option to replace more of the hoses/piping, i would take that route.. if you plan on keeping the vehicle for awhile. And make sure you call around for quotes, or try to get it to a German specialty shop that KNOWS there way around your vehicle.
