Very sad 😢 shame .they shouldn't allow this type of conversion, it could be used as a college or school possibly .or library or some other public office but not for every day living .

took an hour before any official anything came to the facility, they must not lie, we waited looking at the building go completely under and only when the entire first floor was engulfed did any firefighting trucks arrive, had they arrived within 5-10 minutes of the incident half the facilities would have been saved as the fire only started in the ceiling and roof, took some time to go down into the rooms(+-20minutes), so if the response was quick chances are the only damage could have simply been the roof and some ceiling areas, rather than people's contents, what's sad is there is a firefighting facility 5 minutes away, but it seems it was not even staffed cause the ones that arrived came from Joburg side, drove across one of the truck on my way to hospital

Yyoh ai lies, no siren happened, the only thing that sounded was a smoke detector that died after a few seconds due to the heat within the unit,ai guys you need to be honest with these conversations so the correct people are held accountable, secondly the only fire extinguishers we saw on our way out where mostly in the underground parking rather than at each wing on the floors, could have saved the unit had such been there cause from the moment the door was broken into, should there had been such maybe the people could have sprayed inside and who knows, i was studying and recall exactly the incidents cause i kept looking what was causing the commotion, it took around 5 minutes after the door was broken into for the fire to then quickly spread throughout the entire roof, but most of us where still in our units because from inside it didn't seem anything was wrong, its only when you went to the passage and saw the thing smoke and glows of orange through the ceiling that we realized the fire was floating directly above our heads, then from there that's when everything happened within what seemed like minutes, most people were still in their apartments by the way, its only when we started hearing scary sounds and things crashing that most tenants opened doors to look outside, the lucky ones were the ones positioned to the front of the complex as they at least saw people gathering outside and ran out, and for whatever reason that the side where the fire was very huge, aside from it starting at the opposite end, but am glad many were safe, but this is not due to credit of any municipal anything, people just ran out, even when i ran back in to collect the car keys to at least save the car some people where still only then opening doors to figure out what was happening because the fire hadn't gone inside the units but rather was on the roof and inside the ceiling.
