Oh Peachy we were so emotional when this song dropped, I spent weeks crying everytime I heard it. Jin going to the military was the first time ARMY had to go through this and we were in shambles, but Jin was working hard until the very last day to leave as much content prepared as possible so we kept feeling loved by him even when he wasn’t active. He even pre-recorded video messages that dropped every month for us, and came to support his members as much as possible. He is such a loving person, to the extent that, as you’ve noticed, he didn’t even take time to rest when he came back, he started working hard for us since the very day he came back. He is my bias as well, his song Awake made me an ARMY. He’s the sweetest person ever.

Jin is an alien in the MV... He said he was like an astronaut wandering in outerspace floating aimlessly (like in real life.. Knowing he was casted from the streets and accidentally became an idol and met ARMy and changed his life.) So instead of going home, he chose to stay with armys. This is an assurance from Jin that we armys will never be separated from him. He treats us as his family and home.

My interpretation: the little girl represents ARMY. He gives hers the helmet for portection while he goes away and in the end he returns to ARMY. Its his message that his military service would take him away for awhile ARMY will be OK since he, and all members, will return

This song meant a lot at that time... The fact that we couldn't see him for 2 years was crazy... I cried for days and still couldn't get over, we were never ready to say bye to them... That experience of waiting was insane and we went through it... Now that he's back everything makes sense again... The amount of love our boys have for ARMY to release these goodbye songs itself shows how much they miss us and so did ARMY... he actually hinted the release of the song way before and especially during his ending ment on their yet to come in busan concert which is for free (oct 15 2022), we still have no idea that time that they will enlist soon. two days later, on oct 17, bighit announced that they will serve in the military and jin will be the first one to serve and then later that night (oct 18), the release of the astronaut was announced (released on oct 28).

There were sooo many easter eggs in this MV and it was totally on purpose. The more you know about him and BTS, the more you'll pick up on. It was completely aimed at ARMY. Just to mention a few:
- The black dots in his crossword say 'FOR ARMY' in braille.
- The guitar in his room was Chris'es that he gifted to Jin.
- His neck tattoo says ARMY.
- The 10 yo girl with the purple helmet representing ARMY.
- The drawing of Earth with the word home: His song Moon is a love letter to ARMY. In it he's the Moon orbiting around the Earth which is ARMY. In other words ARMY = Home.
- Chris doing his news anchor cameo.
- The truck is a nod to the storyline where Jin, playing the main character, drives it and it plays a continuous role.
- The sound of the bicycle bell at the end: When they were deciding their fandom name, Bells (as in alarm bells) and ARMY were the top contenders. (Tg they chose ARMY 😅)
And many, many more...
Jin has always said that before joining BTS, he didn't feel like he truly belonged anywhere and like he was just floating along in space. But BTS and ARMY gave him purpose and taught him how to feel and to love others and himself, just like the girl does in the MV. That's why he acts unfeeling throughout the MV but smiles at the end, thinking of her/us. This MV basically tells the story of him - floating around without plans or purpose, meeting ARMY, people bumping into him (opposition and haters), holding a mirror up to his face (self-reflection), responding to the signal from home (enlistment), and finally returning to ARMY, his home and family. I cried sooo hard when this came out right after the enlistment announcement! 😭 He's such a sweetheart.
The song itself was also quite a surprise. We're used to him singing in a much higher register so hearing him use his lower register was quite surprising. However, when you factor in that Chris wrote it, it makes perfect sense because it's exactly the register he tends to prefer. 😂👍

BTS often adds kids into their videos that represent Army. So, she was us, at a time when we were feeling like we couldn't possibly function without these boys for 2 years. He made us feel like we'll be okay on our own without them for a while. I cried so much every-time I watched it for a long time! I'm not a Jin bias, but I'm a huge Jin enthusiast and am super protective of him. Coldplay actually had the original. track and song and decided to give it to Jin for his goodbye song. So, they it was a group effort. Chris and his son provide some of the background vocals.
The amount of times I've cried with this song.... You just can feel all his emotions and sincerity and the time it was released... nah that sht hit me SO hard. Now that Seokjin is back I haven't cried which is crazy to me bc since 2022 I couldn't help but get that emotional every single time.

Imagine every armys' struggle listening to this song right after his enlistment announcement!! I didn't want to stream it at allbc I couldn't stop crying. But then we had to keep in mind he's also an artist so I streamed it hard. I just pressed play and left the room for 6 minutes as the song is 5 minutes and a few seconds long.

When I first saw BTS, & as I started to get to know them & their personalities, Jin got me. Each one of them is so unique, has good personality, and has something special to bring to the group but Jin has a special place in my heart. A goofy, & funny person who always makes the atmosphere lively but can be serious too when the situation calls for it. A street smart, witty and caring person as well.
Jin left on December 22 for mandatory military service. Together with his friend Cris Martin, they collaborated on a farewell song.
In one of his solo songs (MOON) he had already said “I am the moon and the army is my land”.
Seeing his ship repaired, he prepares to return to his planet.
He says goodbye to his neighbor and friend and goes to meet his ship.
Details: Giving the helmet to your friend reveals your care (“be safe”); the girl is around 10 years old (Army age, at the time); the bicycle is purple (Army color); the black spaces in the crossword puzzle he made spelled out the word Army in Braille.
In this friendship he taught and learned things, especially how to enjoy simple things, experience new emotions; be happier.
Standing in front of his ship, he remembers those good times and decides to stay, realizing that his home is now here.

And that's the thing about Jin. He doesn't just sing, he tells stories. Maybe it's because he studied acting so that he knows how to bring emotions into his singing, or maybe that's just how his voice is. Eitherway he always does this so beautifully. And it always makes me feel a lot of emotions when I listen to him singing.
And in this song he sees himself as the astronaut who was drifting aimlessly and finally crash on earth and find someone he can call a family (the little girl).
Remember that it wasn't in his plan to become an idol? Someone found him literally on the street and boom he became a trainee, and then idol. He found bangtan and army, the people that he can call a family.

Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. Jin is 31yo. He will be 32 this Dec. This was lovely. I cried though on 1st watch. Gosh darn it. It feels like Jin is saying farewell to us for now. He is going to military. Gone for 18 months on a new journey. Alone but not really alone u know because army is everywhere! i love it. They showed Coldplay live with Jin in cinemas! i went with my HS pal and an army moot on twt. it was fun. Jin slayed his 1st solo debut. Coldplay background vocals were sweet. The song has a Coldplay sound for sure. It's a love song to us. i am mush. U missed the Chris cameo in the MV. =0p Yep, the timing really sucks. But we needed them during covid. It would have been way different if they did solo's and enlisted when they planned. It would have changed so many things. I think it is as it should be not ideal but it is what it is. U know. We going to have to accept and grow. Painful for us and them. Super painful. But rules are rules. And they love their country. They good men. The majority of the members will be back in 2025. So yeah JK went in early. But they all want to be together as soon as possible. U can write letters to each artist on Weverse. U can mail letters too but i have not figured out how and to where yet. The story of this MV is that Jin is an astronaut from outer world, and while traveling through the universe landed on Earth due to a broken spaceship. He was living on Earth waiting for his spaceship to be fixed so he can return to space. In the meantime he meets and creates a valuable relationship with the little girl (Army), who teaches him things, and in return, he helps Army to ride her bike (and be on her own). When his people finally come to get him on Earth, he excitedly runs and bicycles to the spaceship. Then, he realizes at the end that instead of returning to space, he wants to stay on Earth to be with his Army.💜

Jin is a alien in this mv who has lost his way and came to earth but he can't go back to his home because the spaceship is broken so he spends his time on earth hoping that one day someone will repair that spaceship and he will go back home until then he spends his time with a little girl ( Army) and made memories with her and one day he saw on the news that someone saw a mysterious light from that place he decides to leave earth and he gives is helmet to that girl ( its like telling army and members take care of yourself i hope you will be fine by yourself now ) and when he reaches the place to leave earth he realises that "This was his home all along" where he has people who love him and cherish him "WE ARE HIS HOME HIS FAMILY WHO BROUGHT LIGHT INTO HIS DARKNESS" and he rushed back to that Little girl and hops on the first ride he could get to reach his newly founded home✨ you can see the smile of relief on his face in the last scene that means he has found his home and he is happy now and at last he fills FAMILY in crossword puzzle and smiles to the camera it's like tell us that we are his family and he will come back to us because We are his home.

Jin is an alien astronaut that crash landed on earth. He felt out of place (which is why he seemed socially awkward). Even when he joined BTS, all the members had a passion for music, but Jin didn’t and felt off. But while he was waiting for the space ship to be repaired, he found love with Army (the little girl), and the members. And “earth” became his home. The part where he was in space has different interpretations, but the one id like to believe is that he did leave earth (went into the military), but realized he just wants to be on earth with Army, so he returned. In the end where he heard the bicycle bell ring, is Army letting him know we were here waiting for him 😫😫
Throughout the music video u can see the time he shared with the little girl (Army). Army taught him things and he taught Army things. When he was leaving, he put his helmet on the little girl to keep her safe while he was gone. Letting her know everything will be ok. 😢

And for Jin to demand to hug 3000 Army (down to 1000 because of the company), the day after he was released from military, and to go straight into work right after release to do a live (even before going home and taking a shower), and the amount of content he’s been pushing out in the last 2 months is seriously ridiculous. And we know he’s working on an album…these guys are absolutely wild and crazy. Other fandoms keep saying their favs work hard too…I don’t doubt they practice hard…but seriously….there’s no way they put as much time as these men into their craft. U can see it in the amount of content they produce. It’s just absolutely wild! If us as fans have a hard time keeping up with the content, imagine how much time and effort they have to put in 🤯
