Be sure to think about blowing embers, which can go for miles. As that community fire near Denver/Boulder showed, it’s not just a wildlands issue. Here in Los Angeles County, the Santa Ana winds could really spread a fire.
great show. TX/RX systems makes repeaters and related stuff like duplexers and diplexers ETC. I am in Boston NY and we saw northern lights. yes 6 meters has been open in NY. but sounds real bad with noise. thank you Gordo for the recordings. that what 6 meters sounded like in NY. 73's
I heard the RF noise burst from that flare on 23cm SSB! 6m SSB AU signals were intense and I worked people out to 1200 miles away! I didn't get on 2m CW but lots of signals on that band too all the way to the east coast from my location in EN24 in MN. My storm spotting days are over other than calling in conditions form my house. I have a Davis weather station so wind data helps the NWS as do hail reports/any wind damage

Vern, Ask the Captain to use the HF in the wheelhouse.
the ARRL Gordon West link doesn't seem to be working. The audio files are timing out and can't be downloaded 😞
They are having issues at the ARRL. Try again later.
Pueblo NWS doesn't give out spotter numbers anymore.
I have the same aversion to Comic Sans.
