How does that work tho? Cuz when I was in Turkey at Erasmus and met a bunch of Muslim friends there we did shake hands and hug normally, is there like an age from where they are not allowed to touch women?
@milkaa787 Turkey is quite secular....not everyone observes the tenants and teachings of Islam...go south or villages and they will be more observant. Zeeshan here is more orthodox/observant....many Muslims don't follow all the rules....e.g. many don't pray 5x a day...whilst someone like Zeeshan does. End of the day Islam is set and defined....but not all Muslims are at rhe same level of faith/devotion because others will put the world/materialism/desires before God.

As an expat in Bahrain, the men at my job so graciously explained this to me. They call me "Sister" and are very kind, friendly and respectful. I really appreciate it!
I’ve had positive experiences living and working in 7 different countries, but words can’t describe the respect, helpfulness, friendliness, and grace I experienced when I lived in Bahrain between 2005 and 2007. A small island nation of friendly people and a big welcoming attitude 🇧🇭❤️
Respectfully as a non Muslim and American, this does make sense. Too many westerners are too touchy and many use it in a degrading way and then call you rude when you do not want to. ❤
No, the handshake is our traditional greeting. What he does is equivalent to refusing to say waalaikum assalam and then giving a half assed explanation that it's out of respect for that person. Shaking hands comes from a gesture of showing that you have honest intentions, you're hands are empty, you don't carry a Weapon, that is the message of shaking hands. Refusing to do this signals you cannot be trusted. Now I get there's a contradiction in the mannerisms, but the polite thing to do is to conform to the customs of the person you talk to, especially when you're in their country.

As a non-Muslim, I find this super respectful. I would prefer this practice adopted for non-Muslims as well… nothing about a handshake makes anything feel professional to me.
It's not about the handshake, it's about treating people as equals. If I refused to shake hands with a muslim I'd be discriminating against them (male or female), I apply the same rules to muslims precisely because I refuse to discriminate against them simply for their beliefs. I do however refuse to shake hands with people who discriminate. The fact that these people have only ever been misogynisy muslims only tells you about who discriminates. Ffs, it's not even un their book, it's entirely cultural.
I felt her embarrassment, but I also appreciate him explaining to her the reason why as she could have walked away thinking he had a “phobe” against her. What so many people do nowadays…….claiming a “phobe” and not be respective of the other person; because that is their belief.
In germany if you apply for citizenship and reject handshake a woman at the start and end of the hearings because your religion doesnt allow it they would deny you. Its been a few decades like this. But this year a jew rejected the handshake. Immediate uprise in public and this law was canceled. Now its ok to reject handshake. Not because morals changed. Because they realized its ‚against‘ jews. Before nobody cared when only muslims were affected. But 1 jew is enough to change federal law.

Here are some more badics that you may not know *Top ten reasons where Islam gives special status to women* 10. A husband has sëx with his wife, as a plow goes into a field. The Quran in Sura 2:228 says:Wives have the same rights as the husbands have on them in accordance with the generally known principles. Of course, men are a degree above them in status . . . 8. A male gets a double share of the inheritance over that of a female. The Quran in Sura 4:11 says: The share of the male shall be twice that of a female . . . . . A woman's testimony counts half of a man's testimony. The Quran in Sura 2:282 says: And let two men from among you bear witness to all such documents [contracts of loans without interest]. But if two men be not available, there should be one man and two women to bear witness so that if one of the women forgets (anything), the other may remind her. 6. A wife may remarry her ex-husband if and only if she marries another man, they have sëx, and then this second man divorces her. The Quran in Sura 2:230 says: And if the husband divorces his wife (for the third time), she shall not remain his lawful wife after this (absolute) divorce, unless she marries another husband and the second husband divorces her. [In that case] there is no harm if they [the first couple] remarry . . . 5. Slave-girls are sêxüãl property for their male owners. The Quran in Sura 4:24 says: And forbidden to you are wedded wives of other people except those who have fallen in your hands [as prisoners of war] . . .
4. A man may be polygamous with up to four wives. The Quran in Sura 4:3 says: And if you be apprehensive that you will not be able to do justice to the orphans, you may marry two or three or four women whom you choose. But if you apprehend that you might not be able to do justice to them, then marry only one wife, or marry those who have fallen in your possession. 3. A husband may simply get rid of one of his undesirable wives. The Quran in Sura 4:129 says: It is not within your power to be perfectly equitable in your treatment with all your wives, even if you wish to be so; therefore, [in order to satisfy the dictates of Divine Law] do not lean towards one wife so as to leave the other in a state of suspense. . Husbands may hit their wives even if the husbands merely fear highhandedness in their wives (quite apart from whether they actually are highhanded The Quran in Sura 4:34 says: 4:34 . . . If you fear highhandedness from your wives, remind them [of the teaching of God], then ignore them when you go to bed, then hit them. If they obey you, you have no right to act against them. God is most high and great 1. Mature men are allowed to marry prepubescent girls. The Quran in Sura 65:1, 4 says: 65:1 O Prophet, when you [and the believers] divorce women, divorce them for their prescribed waiting-period and count the waiting-period accurately . . . 4 And if you are in doubt about those of your women who have despaired of menstruation, (you should know that) their waiting period is three months, and the same applies to those who have not menstruated as yet. As for pregnant women, their period ends when they have delivered their burden.

One thing that’s important to remember - it’s not just that men don’t shake the hands of women in Islam, but women don’t shake the hands of men either. Because they’re so blinded by Western ideology, they stuck looking at everything through the lens of the man aha.
& the title was “Why Muslims don’t shake women’s hands”, which basically either means that all Muslims are men, or that women are not allowed to shake each other’s hands. 3 out of 4 people who convert to Islam are actually women.
@moncefsharp3999 In a English Muslim is just used for both of them. The term Muslimah / Muslima is rarely used in English Edit: I meant "In English, Muslim"
Women are so valuable in Muslim culture, don't look touch or disrespect, if you want to be closer to a woman go to her house ask for her hand be good enough for her to accept you, unlike men women can sacrifice their entire life for their families, and to one man that's why they are valuable and they have to be respected.... Be good and gentle may Allah bless you with a good wife, also Mohammed pbuh said, the greatest( bless/ given to you by Allah ) in life is a good wife
If women are so valuable then Muslim men should NOT have 4 wives . I think Christian men value their wives more besides it’s extremely disgusting to share your husband penis with 3 other ladies this is not pure I don’t care what other say period!!!!

That's why we muslims urge to non muslims for reading quran atleast once in their lifetime so that they can understand our faith..Otherwise they see these things in our behaviour and makes false assumptions about muslims
Women and men both are aware of the ways men can take advantage of even the most simple physical contact. This is why sexual harassment in the workplace is such a big issue in non Muslim countries. We watched a viral video of a singer who was onstage at another celebrities funeral and the pastor came and gave her a long side hug, but the internet went crazy because we all realized his hand was gripping the side of her breast and she looked visibly uncomfortable. He felt comfortable enough to do that at a funeral, on stage in front of a physical and virtual audience because he knows she’s not going to react in a big way at an event like that. We know about the back pat that turns into an uncomfortable back rub, or suddenly their hand drops lower and even if it’s only for a brief second it’s extremely unsettling for women to experience. I personally used to work as a cashier and went to drop the change in a customers hands and he immediately grabbed my arm and ran his entire hand down from my elbow to my hand and then he grabbed his change. I could tell from the look in his eyes this of course was meant in a sexual and inappropriate way. This woman in the video, her ego told her in that moment that he was saying she wasn’t good enough for a hand shake, but the reality is Allah swt has commanded Muslims to maintain modesty and for Muslim men to respect the privacy and the bodies of women. In reality, he was letting her know that she is safe, respected and that she is the only one that is entitled to her body. I have seen a lot of non Muslim women online speak about how men need to understand that no one is entitled to touch anyone if they’re not comfortable with it and that it shouldn’t be a social expectation to touch someone if you’re not ok with it. However, when Muslims say yes we agree with this because our faith has also confirmed this for us then people suddenly can’t connect the dots that the two are in alignment. What many non Muslims say they need in life and the values Islam has are actually quite aligned.
Very big jump from shaking hands to sexual assault. If shaking hands with a woman turns you on, go see a doctor or a shrink. Going by this logic all men must blind themselves, lest they accidentally see a women. These are rules of a medieval society. No place in today's world.
I touched the shoulder of an Uber driver once (to thank him for the ride). He flipped out on me and yelled at me that it was against his religion. I felt so bad, I didn’t mean to disrespect him. But I learned a big lesson that day. I’m not usually the type of person to go touching strangers (unless we strike up conversation and they purposely touch my forearm, and maybe I’ll nudge their shoulder with my hand or tap their arm once while laughing. Just normal stuff) but after that day I learned to never touch anyone unless they touch me first, I don’t want to disrespect anyone. It was a good lesson for me to learn. Some people don’t like to be touched, and for others it’s against their religion. I personally don’t mind if people touch me. I actually enjoy it, it adds a feeling of closeness to the conversation. I used to work in a beauty shop and customers would touch me all the time during conversation and moments of laughter, and I would touch their hair all the time, so I got used to that. But some people aren’t like that and I respect that

I never get that reaction. I put my hand to my heart and say, "I'm sorry. I don't touch." If anyone asks why, I tell them that I don't want to dishonor her by making her lower herself to touch a strange man. I will also stand if I can't leave one chair between a lady and myself. That happened at the doctor's office the other day with a mother and her three daughters. She made her daughters shift one chair to the right because she understood why I was standing. It's the same with looking; look her in the eyes, greet her with a smile, and lower your gaze. Decent people will respect when you dignify them, others may not understand the gesture. Allah is All-knowing, Most Wise.

Yea but a western non muslim women wont understand in just one time explanation tho Its how they were brought up is different than how moslems do So moslem men also shouldnt be offended too if their reaction are a bit harsh
That’s the worst feeling for a woman, even tho she won’t tell you. Same with guys. If you can’t be respectful to woman and follow society norms then live in a Muslim country . Respect women’s feelings instead of being selfish about your own feelings
Growing up I was always told never to offer my hand to shake anyone’s hand unless they offered first and I was also reminded never to give my hand to a man to shake - I also grew up with Arab family friends and they also explained that as they were Muslim not to touch or shake the Muslim man’s hand as it’s a sign of respect not to touch another woman that isn’t his wife sister of mother or daughter. I don’t understand the logic behind being offended when someone refuses to shake your hand …
As a traditional American, it is a little rude to not want a hand shake. A hand shake in our culture is a gesture of respect. Perhaps not talking to them is best for peaceful cohabitation.
I'm in an Arab Muslim country and I try very hard not to touch women in public transportations, seats are very close to each other with no barriers. May ALLAH give us Istiqama and grant us good in this life and in the hereafter
I have muslim friends and im a white woman and i can say any good muslim man will never touch me out of respect and although its different to me i respect them for showing me this respect
Tbh, that's just a weird situation. Both cultures have the opposite behaviour for showing respect and such situations just teach us to handle this with acceptance.
I don’t ever want to shake hands with people I hate it. I thought with Covid it will finally disappear but here we are. I was in the military, saluting is great, don’t have to touch anyone. Except saluting cars that’s some dumb sh!t
*Top ten reasons where Islam gives special status to women* 10. A husband has sëx with his wife, as a plow goes into a field. The Quran in Sura (Chapter) 2:223 says: Your women are your fields, so go into your fields whichever way you like . . . . 9. Husbands are a degree above their wives. And if I don't want to bow back? I'm rude, uncultured, and an arrogant American. None of you even realize what the Vatican is up to by flooding western protestant Christian lands with communists and theocrats.
We don't shake hands with the people of opposite gender to avoid any sort of fitna. Personal experience: When I got married, and my husband held my hand for the first time, I realised how significant touching of hands can be. That was the moment I felt his comfort and warmth and possibly the moment my heart bent towards him. So yeah, we don't just shake hands randomly 😅
Your argument is BS. You are allowed to shake hands with opposite sex, as long as there is no fornication involved. Which in this case shaking hand doesnt explore sexual intimacies. The hand is not a aura of a woman. Touching the hand and shaking it in a professional occasions are two different things!!!
@@Jason_Mason Awrah or not; ghair mahram is not allowed to touch a Muslim woman/man. My face is not my Awrah but no one will be allowed to touch it. Do not endorse it.
@@aatirahtahoor9256 No. Because if you hug a woman you touch her back, which is her aura! Which is the part where she is obligated to cover, therefor leading to sexual intimacy and fornication which is haram. You are not obligated to cover your hands, which makes it non aura. I just repeated myself. Dont understand what context it difficult it is for you to understand. Prophet PBUH has also shaken hands with non mahrem woman who were giving the Bay'ah to the prophet. People understand the concept off shaking hands way out of hand. Again, shaking hands for two second in a job interview is not the same as holding the hand for no good reason. The one has no harm while the other can explore the fitna regarding attraction to each other.
@@Jason_Mason Can you provide instances from authentic sources and Hadith to back your claim regarding The Prophet (PBUH) shaking hands with non mahram women? Yeah. As a Muslim is not always easy to explain.
Still, a handshake is relationship neutral. Places way too much emphasis on marriage another mechanism of control. Don't care if it's your culture, it's not justified. It's like he just chooses definitions as he pleases.
@Butchman2000 It's not culture it's religion. Theirs a difference. So should Muslim listen to western ideologies than their religion. That doesn't make sense. Religion comes first than some western idliogy when it comes to handshakes.

@milkaa787 Turkey is quite secular....not everyone observes the tenants and teachings of Islam...go south or villages and they will be more observant. *Top ten reasons where Islam gives special status to women*
10. A husband has sëx with his wife, as a plow goes into a field.
The Quran in Sura (Chapter) 2:223 says:
Your women are your fields, so go into your fields whichever way you like . . . .
9. Husbands are a degree above their wives.
The Quran in Sura 2:228 says:Wives have the same rights as the husbands have on them in accordance with the generally
known principles. Of course, men are a degree above them in status . . .
8. A male gets a double share of the inheritance over that of a female.
The Quran in Sura 4:11 says:
The share of the male shall be twice that of a female . . . .
. A woman's testimony counts half of a man's testimony.
The Quran in Sura 2:282 says:
And let two men from among you bear witness to all such documents [contracts of loans without
interest]. But if two men be not available, there should be one man and two women to bear
witness so that if one of the women forgets (anything), the other may remind her.
6. A wife may remarry her ex-husband if and only if she marries another man, they have
sëx, and then this second man divorces her.
The Quran in Sura 2:230 says:
And if the husband divorces his wife (for the third time), she shall not remain his lawful wife
after this (absolute) divorce, unless she marries another husband and the second husband
divorces her. [In that case] there is no harm if they [the first couple] remarry . . .
5. Slave-girls are sêxüãl property for their male owners.
The Quran in Sura 4:24 says:
And forbidden to you are wedded wives of other people except those who have fallen in your
hands [as prisoners of war] . . .
4. A man may be polygamous with up to four wives.
The Quran in Sura 4:3 says:
And if you be apprehensive that you will not be able to do justice to the orphans, you may marry
two or three or four women whom you choose. But if you apprehend that you might not be able
to do justice to them, then marry only one wife, or marry those who have fallen in your
possession.
3. A husband may simply get rid of one of his undesirable wives.
The Quran in Sura 4:129 says:
It is not within your power to be perfectly equitable in your treatment with all your wives, even if
you wish to be so; therefore, [in order to satisfy the dictates of Divine Law] do not lean towards
one wife so as to leave the other in a state of suspense.
. Husbands may hit their wives even if the husbands merely fear highhandedness in their
wives (quite apart from whether they actually are highhanded
The Quran in Sura 4:34 says:
4:34 . . . If you fear highhandedness from your wives, remind them [of the teaching of God], then
ignore them when you go to bed, then hit them. If they obey you, you have no right to act
against them. God is most high and great
1. Mature men are allowed to marry prepubescent girls.
The Quran in Sura 65:1, 4 says:
65:1 O Prophet, when you [and the believers] divorce women, divorce them for their prescribed
waiting-period and count the waiting-period accurately . . . 4 And if you are in doubt about
those of your women who have despaired of menstruation, (you should know that) their waiting
period is three months, and the same applies to those who have not menstruated as yet. As for
pregnant women, their period ends when they have delivered their burden.

By the way in some countries its okay for a men to kiss in cheek a woman even in professional context, in others its okay to shake hands and others its okay to not touch at all. Be open about this, it has nothing to do with you but each person's culture
In this case it’s not culture it’s religion.
I would argue Religion is part of person culture and identity.
@@courtneymcfarlane9743 even if it became part of culture, the point is that it stems out of religion.

He was very respectful in his explanation. I didn't know this law either, now I'm a little more educated about Muslim culture. I don't think she was being disrespectful, she just didn't know.

Right, but it's most easier then this. You connect in every touch. And it's right this is not allowed without marriage.

Even if u don't know the exact reason behind this, still if someone keeps their hand on their heart and make a gesture totally out of respect then u must appreciate. Be it a girl or a boy❤
Bro is having a debate with a Fortnite skin
Bro straight went to the actual point 😆
What actual point? Marriage is a made up social construct
The video-loop though. 💀

Ali's followers know why she is here
She is here for just clout
Or Ali dawah is a fitna and makes people go mad.
Not everyone is obligated to shake your hand! In Asia people bow each other sign of respect.
And if I don't want to bow back? I'm rude, uncultured, and an arrogant American. None of you even realize what the Vatican is up to by flooding western protestant Christian lands with communists and theocrats.
I wish non-Muslim American menheld these same values. maybe then our women would start healing.
Healing form what wym?
Instructions unclear I married myself.......
My lips are not under Awrah, should I allow a ghair mahram to touch it?
Islam follows the philosophy of sadd uzz Zaraayah - Anything that can cause such a connotation or possibility, shun it. Do not endorse it.
@@Jason_Mason By your argument, we should then start hugging opposite genders - it's non-fornicating!!
@@aatirahtahoor9256
No.
There is no professional space that will mandate shaking of hands. At least, not in the countries I have worked in. I don't see the point of your argument regarding making shaking of hands halaal for non mehrams! Can it be because your conscience is making you feel guilty for endorsing this?
Hey it's that mad lady😲

Calling someone mad is a sin brother. What if she has changed and you’re still judging her based on her past. What will she think of Islam then?
@@ordinarycitizen5592 lol
She knew that Muslim men and women who are not related or married, do not shake hands. She just had an agenda for the camera.
Honestly I don't think she knew as she would have just started screaming, calling islam mysogynistic and left but she didn't so I don't think that was on purpose but I could be wrong. Only ﷲ knows what's in the heart
@@MethDealer5916she knew, I’ve seen her in other videos before where she’s been told this information
All these Muslim videos are staged bro
@@2livenoobwhat
there is no Hadith stating shaking hands with women is forbidden, what exists is that getting intimate with the woman physically is forbidden, can you prove to me that shaking hands with women is objectively getting intimate with them or will possibly lead to intimacy?
Thanks brother for explaining
She seems like a nice person. 😢
