Loved this as it was the season my dad first took me to a game. As much as I enjoyed the main event the highlight for myself being a Cardiff City fan were the goal highlights from our 4 - 0 win at Roker Park! Some of our goals that day were sublime!
It is nice to see Brian Moore Immaculate dress along with David Coleman And Jimmy Hill Commentators who did not get Over excited We need people like this today
Agreed. Football at its best when the broadcasters take it seriously with serious middle aged men in suits introducing the games and commentating. Not like today with girlies and teenagers in casual clothes trying to be our mates and speaking from sofas. Also good to see a proper Crystal Palace chairman in a suit puffing away at a fag, rather than showing off his Ferrari collection in Dubai. Cracking goals by Sir Denis Law. Lord George Best probably spent the previous evening shagging Miss World and woke up 15 minutes before kick off. Uncharacteristic error from Jackson, who was often Palace’s best player of that era
Despite being Scottish, I've supported Crystal Palace since 1972. I'm 67 now and still consider myself a "Glazier". I support Dundee FC, so it's ironic that our former GK went on to break my hero, John "Stonewall" Jackson's record of consecutive appearances. Me and "the wife" visit Selhurst Park every year so I can update my wardrobe, and maybe see a show or two. The shit I get up here for supporting Palace is unbelievable.
It was ironic wth the great Denis Law's ' Bicycle Kick' Brian Moore said ' He did'nt catch it well' He did,but that Pitch was so bumpy& uneven ( u could see the Ball bobbling around all of the time!)it made the goal look lucky, when it wasn't!
Such a joy to see direct football, none of this sideways and backwards crap you see every week now. No lying on the ground pretending to have been shot either.

Magnificent entertainment: Palace playing like West Ham!
Thank-you!
Brian Moore and Jimmy Hill looked so young back then! I only remember them when they were grey and already at the end of their careers.

George Best having an off day. But scored two goals.

Thank god I'm not the only one who finds it boring too.
Yawn
I thought the armoured car was at El Salvador v Honduras...
The first Big Match in colour after the 1971 colour strike?
So was i......brilliant game.
Notice the dust flying up. Could never happen these days, with the well watered semi synthetic pitches.
Well before the flood of foreign players and the cheating and diving!
I've died & gone too Heaven!
George was 24 nearly 25 yrs old
And looking 48. Formidable player though.
No hooligans if the Army were allowed to manage crowd control!
Palace with those classic subbuteo style goals.
Someting about those old style goals!!
This is real football not the over hyped premier league
George Best had a pretty below par game imo, but still scored twice!
Anyone Know who won the goal competition. I Liked E
Goal A won, by John Hollins.
I mean, yes, that is technically a way to end a television programme, but...
Didn't Gowling have a degree?
In economics. He left United in 1972 to join Huddersfield Town.
48:05 - Old school pitch LOL
Better players than today's wet lettuces
Bumpy pitch
Not a BLACK in sight...what happened
