Hi Dear. Wow what amazing landscape. I left Angola many years ago, and I used to live in Nelito Soares neighbourhood. Could you tell me how long does it take to get there by car? It seems a long distance. This Airport is stunning. Thank you for your video, by showing this beautiful, amazing country but unfortunately diving deep into corruption. Thank you sweetheart. 😂😂😂
Hi! 🙂 I’m so glad you liked it. To get to Nelito Soares, you can take the Catete Road, and it's approximately 45 km. Without traffic, the drive should take around an hour. Thank you again so much for watching! 🙂
My question is. But is it a priority to build an airport of this dimensions? because the Angola people don’t have food we have millions of people going hungry. Was it a good idea? I have doubts. Although is beautiful I am sure, but the country is full of problems, for example, training staff for health, education, etc. For me, this work means starting our individual hygiene with the feet and not the head, and continuing to make the same mistakes one after another for many years and solving problems superficially, and not going to the root of the problem as unfortunately many African leaders do. Was it urgent things to resolve within the country than building an airport to give people a good view. A country where 70% of the population lives on the edge of poverty. Angola e Africa and I am talking about Angola needs strong leaders, with vision, initiative, leaders who think about future generations, not leaders who only think about pleasing people and doing business, thinking about their own interests, which way the country is immersed in tremendous corruption and no end in sight. The problem is Angola leaders commit the same mistakes over and over again, they don’t learn. We have 70% of population young how many people is working? How many people is working in this country? How many are unemployed? This is what make me deeply sad. How many children we have in educational system? How many are out of educational system? What about their mental health? Does anybody in this country take any accountability of this? Definitely nobody. Many children born in this country do not have any opportunity to grow, to study, to live their dreams, this is incredible devastating for children. You can imagine how this impact negatively in children lives, and they can take mental health which links to others mental health problems, like depression, anxiety, suicide, Angola leaders do they know what is mental health? I guess many of them have it, and they don’t know, because the way they act is not normal. This was one of the reason I left this country many years ago, and the same problem persists. They do not take things seriously. Amazing country, but a lot of things to do without an end. I am sorry to write all this, but is my view of Angola. Most of them are getting older, without change, they are stubborn, and clinging to power. Thank you again for your amazing video and have a good evening.

As an Angolan, it’s frustrating to see the government investing heavily in a new international airport while critical issues affecting the majority of the population remain unresolved. Our country is still grappling with severe food insecurity, with countless families going to bed hungry every night due to the lack of support for local agriculture and food distribution systems. Rural farmers, who could be the backbone of our economy, are often left without resources, tools, or markets to sell their produce. Meanwhile, urban areas are plagued by a lack of affordable housing. Many Angolans live in overcrowded, unsafe conditions, where basic necessities such as clean water, proper sanitation, and waste management are virtually nonexistent. These living conditions are breeding grounds for diseases, and our healthcare system, already under strain, cannot cope with the demand. Hospitals are understaffed, underfunded, and inaccessible for many, especially in remote areas. Youth unemployment is another pressing issue. Angola has a large, energetic young population, but there are few opportunities for meaningful work or education. Instead of equipping young people with skills and creating industries that generate jobs, resources are being spent on projects like the airport, which will benefit only a privileged few. The focus should be on diversifying the economy beyond oil and creating sustainable industries that uplift communities. Investments in renewable energy, local manufacturing, and infrastructure like roads, schools, and hospitals would have a far greater impact on the everyday lives of Angolans. This airport will not solve these problems. It is a luxury that overlooks the urgent needs of the majority.
Tens toda a razão.

This is a megalomaniac project. The first thing that was supposed to be done is to empower the population by building roads and railways and develop agriculture. People are starving. Angolans do not have the purchasing power to make up for the traffic of such airport. On the other hand, Angola is not among the most desired tourist attractions in southern Africa so... to me they just squandered taxpayers' money. Time will tell...
Perhaps Angola will become one of the most sought-after tourist destinations; I believe it has enormous potential. It’s a country with stunning landscapes and beautiful places that deserve to be discovered. Moreover, tourism can greatly help Angolans by bringing in foreign currency and boosting local development. Thank you for your comment and for sharing your opinion!
@@SharedExperiencesIdeas Angola is competing with others countries in the region for tourism, countries that already have the infrastructure in place. I'll give you just one example of the chaos here. Have you ever travelled from Luanda northbound? You can't miss hundreds of slaughtered wildlife being sold on the roadside. If poaching is illegal, how come so many people are openly selling it by the roadside and nothing happens to them? Do you see my point? With all the wildlife being slaughtered what are the tourists going to see? In other countries in the region you don't see that happen. Angola is too far away from getting organized!
@@valmir144 I'm just here making a video and trying to ensure my videos inspire hope and motivation to fight for a country with enormous potential. That's why I prefer to focus on the positive aspects instead of the negative ones, because if people are pessimistic and give up, then nothing will ever change. Many times throughout human history, there have been situations that seemed impossible to change, but they changed because there was determination and willpower, even in scenarios much more challenging than what Angola faces. I believe that to see change, we need to find opportunities where many only see difficulties.
As an Angolan, it’s hard to accept that the government prioritizes the construction of a new international airport while the people face such severe hardships in their daily lives. Social inequality in our country is shocking, with millions living in extreme poverty, lacking access to healthcare, education, and basic services such as clean water and sanitation. Our children walk long distances to get to school, only to find overcrowded classrooms or, in many cases, no schools at all. In hospitals, there’s a shortage of everything-from doctors to medicine. This airport, which will likely serve only a small elite and foreign investors, will change nothing in the lives of ordinary citizens. We will still lack decent jobs, drivable roads, and solutions for the growing slums that expand every day. Meanwhile, unemployment continues to rise, and most of us survive through informal work, without any security or stability. Furthermore, we are aware of how corruption and mismanagement have plagued major projects in the country. This airport risks becoming yet another empty symbol of luxury, where public funds are diverted to enrich a few while the people continue to suffer. It’s infuriating to think that these resources could be used to build schools, hospitals, houses, and improve the living conditions of those who truly need it. Instead of a modern airport that serves only the interests of a minority, the government should focus on what truly matters: the well-being of its people. What we need is running water, electricity in our homes, roads we can use, and jobs that give us dignity. Without these, projects like this airport are nothing more than monuments to indifference and waste.
The construction of the airport iwas a good idea since the old one is on the middle of theCity. The problem is the size of this airport and the money is spent on it. Ethiopia is building a brand new airport that six times cheaper than this one and it will be one the best in Africa. For the other side the accessibility was not taken care at all. When this airport start operating, it will be a nightmare for the travels.
one of the most expensive airport in africa build in a city where a military pilot for the angolan air force makes 300 us dollars as total salary ,, where when it rains the city luanda gets flooded ,, 40 % of the youth unemployed , a country ruled by the same party since the independence for over 50 years , people dying every day from primitive diseases like malaria ,,, so people from around the world are just supposed to buy a ticket and go luanda to see an airport ? and then go where ? the hotels in luanda are LITERALLY the most expencive the world and you cant even drink tap water from the hotel or can get sick, food served at the hotel bad i prefer to eat at a barraca or something,, its ridiculous !!!
Thank you for sharing your opinion. But what’s the point of always talking about the problems Angola faces? Does that really help Angolans, or does it just leave them more discouraged and less motivated to fight for a better country? Instead of focusing on pointing out flaws and placing blame on something or someone, perhaps it would be more useful to shift perspectives. Each person can reflect on what they can do for Angola, what small action they can take to contribute to change. No matter how insignificant that action may seem, there’s always something that can be done, and who knows, it might inspire others to do the same. Small steps are always better than standing still or simply complaining. After all, every country has had to overcome its own challenges at some point in history, and Angola can too.
International investment cannot be attracted with that extremely weak currency and with government whose policies make it difficult for enterpreneurs. It's a dream that will never come through.
Things may change. Angola has enormous potential in many areas, and I sincerely believe that, from now on, it will begin to grow significantly. The currency has been stable recently, and the country has realized it cannot rely solely on oil. I already see many investments in other areas, and I truly believe Angola will surprise us. Thank you for your comment!
@@raandit471 Thank you for your comment! It's true, it was a significant investment! I'm no expert to say whether it was a good investment or not, but many consider that the design, modern features, and the capacity to handle a larger number of passengers justify the cost.

Did you say low prices? No for u yes because you’re using foreign currency . For us it’s not low. It’s too expensive.
Olá, Amorim! Tens toda a razão.
My country
A beautiful country! 🙂Thank you for your comment.
I wish you an amazing 2025, full of achievements and incredible moments. 🙂 May you start the year strong and achieve all your dreams! 🙂
Nice airport..but for U$3.8 billion?😮
@@raandit471 Thank you for your comment! It's true, it was a significant investment! I'm no expert to say whether it was a good investment or not, but many consider that the design, modern features, and the capacity to handle a larger number of passengers justify the cost.
My friend, do you know what it is means illiterate? Maybe, if you knew it you wouldn’t call me that name. Secondly, I spoke to your wife, not to you. If you have read carefully what I have written, you’ll probably notice that I apologised to her. I know perfectly well this is a touristic video, not a political one. You were so rude, the way you addressed me, that is not how you address someone you barely know. I like her videos, and I am free to express what I want. To be honest, I don’t like politics, I just spoke to vent. Now, she herself has already written that this channel is not for political matters. My friend, if you are more polite when you address people, it would probably suit you very well. I’ll continue to give my free opinion about the country if she lets me, ok? Have a good night and take care.
