I think any other professional high ranking boxer of that weight class would have knocked Connor out early if he fought them the way he fought Floyd. I was genuinely surprised about how soft and respectful Connor's approach was. He tried to fight Floyd mostly like a boxer as opposed to a rougher MMA fighter style. Though I'll say that both fighters walked out of the fight with well deserved respect.

He always starts slow, gets his legs moving, gives up the first round or two, feels the distances and reads the opponent's speed and angles. Turns it on a little in the third to make the opponent show his full speed and power, like MJ said save your best moves for the 4th quarter. Round four he's on the horse. I liked six and seven where Floyd got aggressive and made McG work hard, then Floyd kinda took off 8 knowing McG's corner is telling him to turn it up. Set McG up for the boxing clinic in round 9 where I said if 10 is the same his corner will have to throw in the towel, save some brain cells. Floyd controlled the ring the entire time, always cutting off and always turning McG keeping that front foot where it needs to be. McG spent most of the fight moving backwards because even with his size and reach advantage he doesn't have the skills to manage a boxing match. Decent show but he was totally outclassed. Boxing community making all kinds of excuses to why Mcgregor did way better then they thought. It doesn't matter what boxer was in there Conor would have done just as well, and you can put all of the boxers in the cage and they all would lose to Conor within 30 seconds of the first round.
The fight definitely lived up to the hype in my opinion. It was entertaining and it was worth the $100 dollars. For McGregor's first boxing match, it went well. He held his own against Mayweather. He lacked stamina and his punches were too weak for a boxing match. As for Mayweather, his plan worked well, which was to tire McGregor out. Also, don't say that bullshit about Floyd not lasting a round in the octagon because McGregor is the one who started this whole thing and he's smart enough to not do that. Lastly, McGregor should consider becoming a boxer, he can work on his faults and the sport definitely has more money to be earned than UFC fights

Floyd changed his style for this fight. Rather than fighting his usual, Floyd came forward and did something that he used to do when he was 18. All these things added together was the reason Floyd wasn't himself. Connor looked great because of these reasons. I agree with Stephen A.
