Personally, I don't really see the need to keep Kamara around. This team is clearly in a rebuilding stage and giving the bulk of the work to a 30 year old back coming off a season ending injury doesn't make sense to me. Miller and Waters should be getting the bulk of the work imo and since you already cut Kamara before bringing him back, I think at most he should be having a Jerrick McKinnon like role with the team and try to let Miller/Waters develop more.
It has to be the sliders right. Like I’m not only person who think that Canes o-line looked more realistic while every other o-line he played looked like a group of all-pros out there.
Yeah, either that or having zero players over 80 OVR on his Dline. But either way I think the sliders should be nudged a point or two down for CPU pass protection.
When the backups are keeping the d line at bay as well then yeah it seems like the sliders are a bit too harsh. Mid 70s d lineman should be beating up on backups.
Been watching your channel for over 12 years, wanted to thank you for never having video sponsors, having the best commentary and for being my favorite content creator of all time!
I feel like there might be a need for a slider change with the pass coverage. You have really talented corners routinely getting beat badly by low overall receivers makes it feel like ratings don't matter as much as they should.
I could possibly buy into the explanation that, say, Lattimore's physical regression left him with an intangibles-inflated overall that doesn't fully reflect his on-the-field performance, but given what bottom-feeders Sam Howell and Jason "The Bucs would rather start the corpse of Derek Carr" Tracy of all QBs did to this unit last year… Yeah, this proposal probably holds some water.
Preseason impressions: 1: Lance looks like could be qb of the future 2: Mayweather accuracy was very disappointing 3: Kamara looked slow and not the playmaker he used to be 4: Miller and Waters very impressive showing. Likely the answer at rb 5: Abysmal safety play I hate that Cane has to zero blitz multiple times a possession to get a stop. Has he tried dropping cpu pass block sliders? Props to him for being able to play incredibly entertaining games either way. Unfortunate that it’s impossible to have realistic stats with current madden cpu gameplay.
Every time Cane says “Justin Medlock” I think of the CFL and Winnipeg Blue Bombers kicking legend Justin Medlock. This will be great nostalgia, remembering his amazing kicking and Grey Cup wins
idk if he's good enough to play ahead of Tomlinson or Adebo, but I'd like to see Lattimore be traded during the season and get Stoutmire some more playing time, because he's definitely too good and too promising to sit 4th on a depth chart.
Honestly was thinking.... when he goes to edit playbooks it would be tedious but you can set which players come in for certain plays. Idk if it extends to Oline but it might make sense to bring in penning for those run playsor pass) whichever hes good at. While having him subbed out for the opposite. Creates a fix for stamina, injury and allows better lineman in on run or pass plays based on their ability.
Bump up your pass coverage to at least 52-55, and also a couple notches on your pass defense reaction time you will see a difference, I use the same sliders and after making the switch I am having way more balanced games
Hey cane, when you start the regular season, you should make sure the number of offensive snaps that you run are the same across the whole league so you might have to drop the number of minutes per quarter for realistic statistics.
I've been watching since the Jaguars franchise way back in the day seen so many moments and so many teams and channel legends I remember the Kalispell series is when I really fell in love with the channel. I've been going through a rough time and decided to binge the series and it was the best decision I made being able to forget everything in life and just enjoy some football content. Miller??? Waters is the way to go here. Led the team in YPC last season and blew everyone else away in preseason with a whopping 7.1 while breaking tackles like it was nothing.
You mentioned in the offseason live stream that you would show us how to get your game to play so well. Something about removing your account. Could you do a demonstration for the audience sometime?
Something to talk about in regards to Mayweather; he's a player that could sneakily be a very good QB. Give him the field general skill set and you could have a steal from this draft
If you can figure out the front 4 this defense could be a special unit. The secondary is ridiculously talented. You should consider more dime looks just to get all those corners on the field. Also I’d suggest more 5 man pressures. I know you’re blitzing a lot already, but it just makes so much sense with the way this defense is constructed. Lean on the secondary without totally hanging them out to dry, and see if some 5 man rushes can get home. Playoffs here we come!
Did... did the two defenders tackle * *each other* * on that Pittman touchdown? o.O Glad you're going with Trey Lance - it's the Bengal/Cane Synergy. And I loved your dump-off to Kamara instead of a crazy throw into traffic for a pick Also, the video ended 15 minutes ago and I just got an injury notice for the Saints on my phone
Early takeaways: -Lance and Darnold both look better than Carr was. Hopefully Lance can realize his potential here. -Wondering why we didn't see any Jake Haener in the preseason. I know we saw a lot of him last year, but he really couldn't have been worse than Mayweather. -Speaking of, rough first showing for Mayweather. I don't know that he's the best fit for the scheme, especially if it gets further tailored to Lance's skillset. -Liking what I've seen out of the passcatchers, especially the tight ends. -Kamara should 100% be traded to a contender who needs running back depth. I think if you do that, find a better mid-season replacement than calling up Brian Johnson. -Beard looked good, but I think Paul Redmon showed out. Might have the highest ceiling out of your defensive picks. -Peppers and JOK will do wonders for the defense. I hope they bring out the best in everyone. -Stoutmire has played very well, not sure there's going to be a huge dropoff if you trade Lattimore.
Definitely Lance looks to help this offense out and I expect the offense to do well. However, the defense is looking a bit rough imo. However, one never knows how a season will play out. Hopefully things are better, but I am going to guess the defense is going to be a greater work-in-progress than the offense well this year and possibly next. Still, looking forward to seeing what all is in front of this particular franchise series going forward.
He's the same player as George Levens and Braylon Farrow who Cane signed last offseason as undrafted rookies. And none of them will be seeing many chances anyway with Olave, Osborn, Perry and Pearman in front of them unless the injury bug continues.
honestly i’m very glad you went after trey lance instead of tua, yes tua has more star power and better overall, but trey seems like a signing that could lead to qb of the future perhaps.
Giants' defending Rookie of the Year shouldn't have been at normal development at all. :( Maybe there's something you can do for him, like an upgrade to Star for next year?
Even if the game isn't taking it into account and he probably shouldn't have been stuck at Normal to being with, it does make sense to me that such a catastrophic injury would stall his career's upward trajectory to such an extent. I think we can afford to leave it alone for now; call it tongue-in-cheek revenge for him stealing DROY from Tomlinson :P
I think Darnold was the best QB of the preseason. I know he's older and not much of a ceiling-raiser, but he'd be solid and good for our skill players' development. That being said, Lance can raise the ceiling and has much more upside.
Waters has outperformed him, and did so last season as well in terms of yards per carry. There's nothing Miller does that Waters can't do as well or better.
