- The US has strengthened its military presence in the middle east amid concerns over a potential retaliatory attack against Israel by Iran.
It comes as an Israeli intelligence journalist warned that a co-ordinated attack by the country's two biggest enemies is imminent.
Iran has also insisted on its right to an "appropriate and deterrent response" against Israel after the assassination of Hamas' leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.
